If you read the FDA studies yourself you will find e-cigarette liquids in comparison to normal ones and nicotine gums and patches... you can see yourself that they found same cancerogene levels in e-cigarette as in nicotine gums and patches... about 4000 times less than in normal cigarettes... so why the hell is this a WARNING???

It is hard to quit nicotine and with a substitute like e-cigs you can keep the nic but not have to put all of the other poisons into your lungs. My doctor actually told my wife not to quit smoking because she has panic attacks occur more often so we switched to e-cigs. Our plan is over time we will slowly reduce the levels of nicotine so that we may be able to get off completely. Even though it's a better substitute always remember nicotine still causes heart disease from the constant constrict

I wouldn't ever recommend a non smoker pick these up, it's an expensive habit and nicotine certainly isn't good for you, BUT if you are already a smoker, you should switch to these. They are much safer,, don't stain or burn, there is no second hand smoke and you can wean yourself down with e-juice with lower and lower nicotine concentrations.

The key ingredient in anti-freeze they are talking about here is called propylene glycol (completely and totally non-toxic). It was added to anti-freeze to take the place of ethylene glycol which was highly toxic. Studies on the effects of inhalation of propylene glycol vapor go back to the 50's, and reveal that not only does inhalation have ZERO side effects, but there is reason to believe it may actually ward off certain respiratory diseases. I've done extensive study on this for years now.

@RyYajn Very ture! I been doing some research since e-cigs came out and found that in 42 they used PG as a vapor in children's hospital (kids ward) to kill off airborne bacteria. I will also say using an ecig for about 2 years now, I have not had any kind of problem that you could get from one week of smoking. Can run, taste food better, and breathing isn't a problem. I was never a big smoker but did like what it did for me so I wanted something better and maybe a lot more safer.

Propylene glycol is used in heat exchange coils/coolant for home solar systems - and gives Dr. Pepper it's foamy head and is a constituent in it's palette of flavors. Let's see the FDA recall/warning on Dr. Pepper before anyone uses it as an alarm bell to recall or call into question E-cigarettes. ;>

Reading the FDA's report I found major errors. The funniest being that they found 1% nicotine in a package labeled "high", which they thought did not have any nicotine. High means "high nicotine". Errors like this by the FDA show the lack of competence in their study.
I began using my e-cigarette at 32mg of nicotine and slowly decreased the amount of nicotine as I felt comfortable. Available flavors made regular cigarettes taste bad. Now at 0 nicotine I will continue to enjoy vaping.

I researched all the ingredients and found they were FDA approved food/pharm grade flavorings-other than the nicotine. Nicotine is similar caffeine as a stimulant and Nic overdoses can make you shaky and nauseous. Common sense dictates moderation. Don't let the media scare you away from saving your own life. Propylene glycol is NOT antifreeze-look it up!

And one last thing. Do not confuse Diethylene glycol with Propylene glycol. Diethylene glycol is an ingredient in car anti-freeze and is not intended to be in ecig liquid. Propylene glycol is an ingredient in a huge number of foods and medications and is generally recognized as safe (G.R.A.S.) by the FDA and is a standard ingredient in ecigs. In addition you may also find vegetable glycerin in ecigs but that is nothing more than modified vegetable oil.
I think there was a reason the FDA only ever did an extremely short study. Once they started the study they were shocked by how safe ecigs really are. So to avoid further embarrassment they stopped their scientific efforts and turned to BS legal attacks a rhetoric. Just a theory of mine. LOL
I have read the study by the FDA, all 8 pages or so. First off they only tested 2 brands, NJoy and Smoking Everywhere. Both of which come from China. A total of 36 pre-filled cartridges were tested. One of the 36 cartridges did contain trace amounts of Diethylene glycol. I'm sorry FDA, that is what you call a fluke. It could have been contamination in the testing facility or any number of other invalid sources. The FDA study is widely accepted as a joke amongst the medical community.

Okay since the FDA essentially has to approve everything on the market concerning food and drugs, how did they "approve" cigarettes. I don't understand. Cigarettes aren't illegal so they must have approved them for use. But they are proven to cause cancer. It is hard to quit nicotine and with a substitute like e-cigs you can keep the nic but not have to put all of the other poisons into your lungs. My doctor actually told my wife not to quit smoking because she has panic attacks occur more often so we switched to e-cigs. Our plan is over time we will slowly reduce the levels of nicotine so that we may be able to get off completely. Even though it's a better substitute always remember nicotine still causes heart disease from the constant constrict

I wouldn't ever recommend a non smoker pick these up, it's an expensive habit and nicotine certainly isn't good for you, BUT if you are already a smoker, you should switch to these. They are much safer,, don't stain or burn, there is no second hand smoke and you can wean yourself down with e-juice with lower and lower nicotine concentrations.

The key ingredient in anti-freeze they are talking about here is called propylene glycol (completely and totally non-toxic). It was added to anti-freeze to take the place of ethylene glycol which was highly toxic. Studies on the effects of inhalation of propylene glycol vapor go back to the 50's, and reveal that not only does inhalation have ZERO side effects, but there is reason to believe it may actually ward off certain respiratory diseases. I've done extensive study on this for years now.

@RyYajn Very ture! I been doing some research since e-cigs came out and found that in 42 they used PG as a vapor in children's hospital (kids ward) to kill off airborne bacteria. I will also say using an ecig for about 2 years now, I have not had any kind of problem that you could get from one week of smoking. Can run, taste food better, and breathing isn't a problem. I was never a big smoker but did like what it did for me so I wanted something better and maybe a lot more safer.

Reading the FDA's report I found major errors. The funniest being that they found 1% nicotine in a package labeled "high", which they thought did not have any nicotine. High means "high nicotine". Errors like this by the FDA show the lack of competence in their study.
I began using my e-cigarette at 32mg of nicotine and slowly decreased the amount of nicotine as I felt comfortable. Available flavors made regular cigarettes taste bad. Now at 0 nicotine I will continue to enjoy vaping.

All ecigs contain Vegetable Glycerin and Flavorings (like those used in candy).
Optional ingredients are: Propylene Glycol and /or nicotine. That’s it, there is nothing else.
All are approved for human consumption. None are toxic or carcinogenic.
There are thousands of people and manufactures producing ejuice. The FDA found one isolated case where an ejuice contained an antifreeze component. This is stupid misleading report.

I researched all the ingredients and found they were FDA approved food/pharm grade flavorings-other than the nicotine. And one last thing. Do not confuse Diethylene glycol with Propylene glycol. Diethylene glycol is an ingredient in car anti-freeze and is not intended to be in ecig liquid. Propylene glycol is an ingredient in a huge number of foods and medications and is generally recognized as safe (G.R.A.S.) by the FDA and is a standard ingredient in ecigs. In addition you may also find vegetable glycerin in ecigs but that is nothing more than modified vegetable oil.

I have read the study by the FDA, all 8 pages or so. First off they only tested 2 brands, NJoy and Smoking Everywhere. Both of which come from China. A total of 36 pre-filled cartridges were tested. One of the 36 cartridges did contain trace amounts of Diethylene glycol. I'm sorry FDA, that is what you call a fluke. It could have been contamination in the testing facility or any number of other invalid sources. The FDA study is widely accepted as a joke amongst the medical community.

Regardless of what is motivating the FDA, I think it's wrong to advertise E-cigs as a 'safe' 'harmless' alternative. Cigarettes are worse, but don't pretend these E-cigs are harmless fun. In my humble opinion, I find it a better option to simply get off any and all addictive substances. Than you can be free from being their slave.

Okay since the FDA essentially has to approve everything on the market concerning food and drugs, how did they "approve" cigarettes. I don't understand. Cigarettes aren't illegal so they must have approved them for use. But they are proven to cause cancer. So now something is found that directly competes with cigarettes and may eventually put the tobacco industry out of business, and they say they won't approve it because its not safe? Cause cigarettes are safe right?

@tec16 The FDA doesn't regulate tobacco products. Now, the e-cig is available in the US. There are no carcinogenic chemicals in an e-cig. The ingredient in the e-cig that is found in anti-freeze is propylene glycol. That is the substance used in fog machines and is not toxic (unless you drink gallons of it in one sitting). This if fear mongering.
