  • Adore this video! Thank you so much for the work you put into this. I adore the music -- and getting to watch Derek Jacobi as Cadfael along with this gorgeous music only makes it that much nicer:-)!!

    Rose

  • beautiful!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!

  • Derek Jacobi is the Bestest actor ever.

  • As of 2/15/10, you can buy the DVD's on Amazon for about $133.00( U.S.).

This the complete serie. I like it because

like brother Cadfael, I'm a Convert . We have the tendency to take our Faith

seriously, and with a vein of practicality.

I also love it for it's attention to detail and historical content .

  • @jager18903

The currenct Pope was in the nazis youth.

  • You are wrong. You slander a man who is

a symbol of peace and love in a world going mad with hate and greed.

  • @jager18903

How much is it in pounds.

  • That would be about 89 Pounds as of 3-3-10

  • @jager18903

I does not like Romanic Catalic church. It's that pagan culture in it and the pope Urban with his hatred to Muslim.

  • This is a forum of appreciation of acting ability and production values. If you've got

a beef with the Church, feel free to take it somewhere hate and rumor thrive.

  • @jager18903

Do dislike the Pope or the Vatican.

  • @QueenieLizzie Historically many of the Popes were nasty, but Moorish and Saracen armies were attacking Europe 400 years before the Crusades, but this fact is all too often ignored.

  • Can't someone post the whole thing? Its not like you can still buy it. Not even on Amazon.

  • Lizzie you would like The Lion in Winter have you seen it? Kate Hepburn and Peter O'Toole outstanding 1186 England.

  • @lbschiller

    Really?

  • @lbschiller

    It is Katherine Hepburn.

And Peter O'Toole was in the show The Tudurs.

  • Henry VIII is the best.

  • You know your Cadfael well. Very nicely done!

  • @lbschiller

    Better Novel, Better Novelist.

  • @lbschiller

    Ellis Peters is best.

  • @QueenieLizzie

    Sean Pertwee is the best.

  • @QueenieLizzie

    And Mark Charcock is great.

  • @lbschiller

Derek Jacobi is the greatest actor.

  • @QueenieLizzie

I will's all ways Sleulth and crime drama.

  • 1485 - 1603 the Tudor age are from Wales. And the Archbhisop of Canterbury.

  • Any Movies and Crime Drama is based on a Book.

  • @QueenieLizzie

    Prior Robert is a coward.

  • Prior Robert face is femiaim.

  • God, I love Full Circle! It sends shivers down my spine everytime I hear it.

  • Your description, RectaPete, reminds me of my Grandfather being told by his brother that he was raising cannon-fodder. My Grandfather fought in WWI & my uncle in WWII & both survived.

Does Cadfael abhor his Crusades in the sense of the mission & then find a son who goes on a subsequence Crusade while his dad is a monk who abhors war?

It looks like a good series & no doubt troublesome of the heart somewhat.

I love the song & have all McKennett's albums. This is one of her best songs.

  • @ABAisSCIENCE Cadfeal never actually condemned war, he just said that he would not take sides in the one that was happening in his own day. Historically, this would be more plausible.

  • Great Video! I love Cadfael! but i cant say as much for Kingdom of heaven the historical inaccuracy is too great for me to be fully interested.

  • historical events here are only to fill the book (minutes in the film). Main themes are simple love stories with nice clothes (girl who plays boy, old man finds his son and so on).

But I like them in spite of this.

  • Id rather have the episode then tributes or music videos. WTF

  • Then show your support for the series and buy the DVD's. I personally don't have the capabilities (or the gall) to post an entire episode on YouTube. A music video is fun, interesting, and an opportunity to add a personal, creative accent to the series. If you want the series, buy the dvd's. Don't wait for others to get them for you.

  • Where? Im having trouble even finding the darn books. Hmm. Maybe its just where I live. I wouldn't doubt that.

  • I'd suggest Barnes and Noble, that's where I found them. I'm sure you can easily find the DvDs online. The books you'll have a harder time with, since they're somewhat older. I think any major local library would have copies, that or you'd have to go back to the internet to find them (on Amazon or another site). Happy hunting!

  • Where it cuts to the Kingdom of Heave, although it is a bit out of the correct time period, it could be like a flashback for Cadfael!

  • Actually, Cadfael is based in the early 12th century while Kingdom of heaven is only set about fifty or sixty years later. It's probably the closest thing you could ever get.

  • i did not mean literally, i meant the scene of battle, not that he was at the siege of Jerusalem which is likely to have been after his death as Cadfael was written to have been born in 1080.

  • i have a silly question: did you also put scenes from Kingdom of Heaven?

    great vid!

    5 stars!

  • lol. just finished watching the vid, and found the answer.

  • Thanks so much for taking the time to respond. I had a lot of fun making this video! Since it's kind of hard for one to understand the vid if one isn't a Cadfael fan, I'm glad that I'm getting feedback from CadFans!

  • This is so perfect, since Loreena McKennitt did say this was inspired by the chants of Benedictine monks! Gratias ago!

  • That's actually what inspired me to use this song! I hoped it worked out well. The use of the desert scenes and flashbacks to Cadfael's soldiering days altered the meaning of the song a little, so I hope Loreena won't mind!

    Thanks for the review!

  • I love this video because it's really well made and it's about Cadfael! It's an incredible masterpiece with a touching song! PERFECT work! Really impressive!

  • i really enjoyed what you have created here. I have always loved this song so much and now this only makes it better! God Bless!

  • It is the great series on the world!

  • Beautiful!

  • I loved this series - very faithful to the books, beautifullly acted. You blended the two movies most wonderfully - thanks for posting!

  • Thanks so much for your response!
