This Johnson line american bulldogs look nice but thats it, I prefer the Scott line, whic is all strength, endurance, and intelligence.

hi the white dog at 40 seconds does any 1 no if its a bitch or a dog . and can any 1 tell me the difference between a standard american bull dog / and the bully american bull dog . its just i have just got a AB 4 months old and he looks really leggy . just want an idea of what he is going to grow up to be like cheers

@b4mb4m100 Hey,the two blood lines are scott and johnson.Basically the scott type is more athletic and resembles the pit bull terrier (completely different breed) whereas the johnson type is bigger and has a boxer type appearance.Chances are you will have a hybrid of the two,when they are that young they will go through stages where they are leggy then fill out. my pup is nearly 4 months also,hes a hybrid,but mostly johnson i think.

@peaner083 hi thanks very much for that info . a i have spoke to the people that have bred him and they said he is a hybrid . but has more scott in him but it is hard to tell at the minute as i have never had a AB before so i might get i video of him and post it on youtube to see what other people think of him . thanks again for the info its a great help chears b4m

these, at least for me, are the easiest dogs to train. i have the greatest one of all. the only dog (which is mine) of the five dogs we have that is allowed to roam our property freely. the other dogs (not american bulldogs and my wife's) want to take off and explore the world. the cat's love him, the horses love him. i even have a 900lb that allows him to get in her pin with him and they chase a basketball around.

@wetbax69 i got my AB / dalmatian mix at 5months and had no problem training him. he is great! i highly recommend neutering if hes a boy tho if he isnt already. he will be less likely to roam or run away to find some ass....but u will have no problem training as long as u are consistent and do ur research

hey i wonder if any of u guys can help. iv got a 6 month old american bulldog which iv had since he was 4 weeks old and every time i walk him on the street he always walks like 1 mile an hour and sniffs the floor non stop!! it pisses me off so bad and end up draggin him by his coller and i no this must hurt but i cant help it!! hes fine walking on the lead in the park or woods ONLY on busy street roads and its soo embarrising to!!

so any help on how to stop him doin this wud b well appreciated

yes my one did the same think . hes doing a risk assessment . his young so hes exploring. but he will grow out of it . if you keep dragging him .. best thing to do is to tie him on a bike cycle , and make him run for a daily excerise in the morning . and in the night times he should be doing lesser of that

ok thanks. hes going thru a stange now tho where when we are out in the park and sees another dog he will always want to go and play and pull so hard on the lead in the direction on the dog. and wen i let him off his lead he wont come back when called. every 1 says you have to give him treats for being good but wen we are out he never ever will eat. only in the house he eats!! but on his walks u put a doggy treat, cheese, ham u name it, but he just spits it out lol

let him go and then quicky shout ''get here'' by quickly grabbing the lead back .keep doing it until it becomes his habit of skill to understand what ''get here'' means . thats what i done , from a smaller lead to a longer and another longer. right now if i want mine to comeback as soon as i let him go. he will run towards me .. try it , but make sure you start of with a small lead , then a longer lead. and then another longer.

Beautiful dogs, I love the breed. They definitely have alot of energy that needs to be expended daily. My girl is 5 years old and is extremely gentle with children despite her size. She is a trained therapy dog, we go visit children's hospitals and nursing homes. Alot of personality!!

Johnson and Scott... but in very recent times as now 2 distinct variations of the breed are coming out. Traits of the more english bulldog type of head. But your technically right just bloodline but dont be surpized if they start seperating them into different phenotytpes other then bloodline. They should be really.

there are two types, johnson and scott. most here are johnson, personally i prefer scott types. they are a little smaller, leaner and more athletic. also, their faces are not as "bulldoggy" but more "pitbully"

American Bulldogs are not recognized by AKC.

They are only recognized by UKC, ABA , NKC, CKC is just to name a few but not the AKC

i think one of the best ways to tell if the dog is pure bred, is by looking at the registration papers they need to be, arf.aba or nkc only.also look at the owners property to make sure he doesn't own any other breed of dogs at all.then by talking to him or her and just go by your instincts.

I have staffordshire bull terrier's and am getting another dog early next year and the a-b seem's a nice dog.

The only problem is there is alot of dick-head owner's out there who have given the breed a bad name.

I only hope the power's that be clamp down on these scum-bag's before they destroy another fantastic breed!
