  • I wish they kept that effect with the echoey voices. The beginning "H-------hush! And shush!" sounded like she hadn't used her voice in a long time, and made it creepier.

  • This is much better and scarier without music.

  • Anyone else think Coraline looks like Jill Valentine from Resident Evil 1 and Resident Evil 3. Maybe it's her hair, and her personality. Though she is a bit more feisty, and not as brilliant as other kids. I think Jill was probably the same way as well as a child. This has also been proven in the games lol. And it's maybe because she likes to wear that police/ military hat, which also could be a reference to Jill Valentine, since Jill is also a tomboy, and likes law enforcement.

  • whats up with the creepy kids?? someone explain?? i never seen this before

  • @cullenpartyanimal The other mother, as you might know is the villain, is a spider/witch. She can only eat children (and bugs, of course). Once buttons are sewn into your eyes you can't go back to the real world, and the other mother has eaten them. She has forgotten about them and left them to live on a life of darkness and sorrow behind the mirror. They are warning Coraline she can't stay or she'll become one of them.

  • i love this

  • i seen it in 3d and i was shaking through the whole movie! CREEPY!

  • this would have ben more scary in the movie if it had not had any music

  • that's scary. O_O

  • @EmoCookies15 yea i cant watch it alone :) hahaha

  • I thought "beldam" was pronounced "bell-dom", not "bell-damn". -.-

  • @Sunzu49 beldam means old hag or old lady

  • This scene was actually scarier without the music playing in the movie. Dead silence with eerie voices by terrified ghosts. Really creepy.

  • i'd be scared out of my frikin mind if i was her encountering those ghosts! 8l

  • YOU PPL DONT GET WHO THOSE 3 GHOSTS ARE?!?

THEIR LOCK SHOCK AND BARREL FROM NIGHTMARE BEFORE CHRISTMAS!!!

JACK SKELLINGTON SNUCK IN THIS MOVIE 2

  • fav movie!!

  • 0:33 fav. part

  • whats the beldam?

  • Transcript: INCLUDES SECONDS AFTER

    -Who's There?

-Hush and Shush, for the Beldam might be listening

-You mean the other mother. Who, who are you?

-We don't remember our names, but I remember my true mommy.

-How did you all end up here

-The beldam! She spied on our lives through the little doll's eyes and saw that we weren't happy. So she lured us away with treasures and treats and games to play. Gave all that we have yet we still wanted more. So we let her sew the buttons!

  • ☻_☻

    Supper's ready Coraline!

  • @Saruman54231 lollllllllll those buttons

  • that is the scaryest movie ive ever seen really if you want to se the whole mmovie tvshaxk is the best place....my opinion

  • hey is this "stop animation" if so they did a wonderful job...kudos to coraline.

  • yes it is stop animation.

  • yup, this is stop motion

  • have it got it the first day it came out

  • same

  • i read the book!!

  • actually you guys are right.... the other mother trapped the ghosts... then ate their soles.... you can even read the book and find out

  • omg cool

  • I really wanna know wat happened to the girl ghost child the one with her a long mouth, does anyone know why she has a long face?

  • She was probably in terror when she died.

  • Yea. Or maybe screaming.

  • Jeez. I just took my 5 year old daughter to see this on a last minute whim. She wasn't the only one scared. There were nightmare images a plenty - particularly the buttons for eyes. My god their eyes...what the hell happened to their eyes!!!

  • The way she yelled & breathed in the beginning reminds me of the kind you would hear in an anime.

  • Funny, I was thinking the same thing. XD

  • The witch or 'Other Mother' sewed buttons onto there eyes then 'Ate their lives'

  • Comment removed

  • It's called rhetoric.

  • i think they died cause she put buttons in there eyes

  • No, she sewed buttons into there eyesand then they wanted to go home. Then THe Beldam locked them in there and they died.. And I put that comment there the one on the bottom so people could give me a thumbs down. ^_^

  • It's true! The Other Mother did sew buttons unto their eyes, then they wanted to go home and she took their souls, looked them behind the mirror, and they died, not being able to move on.

  • oooooh! lol

  • I helped eat the children..MWHAHAH!

  • ^_^

  • Has anyone heard if they'll be releasing a 3-D DVD of Coraline?

  • July 21th.

  • Thanks for the information CreepyLittleWatcher, If they didn't do a

3-D Coraline DVD that really would be a let down IMHO.

  • man that was soo wierd cause i thought this background music was going on during the end so i was really surpirsed when the music kept going when the vid stopped! i realized then it was something else! ha ha!

  • anyone want to know a site to see the whole movie?

  • Yes

  • Who-who are you?

  • I got a Coraline shirt today . . . this movie is amazing! ^_^

  • Don't the three goust Childeren look alot like Lock, Shock and Barrel?

  • haha thats exactly what i thought haha

  • Omg I'm so glad I'm not the only one who thought that XD

  • Plus i think the bed looks like the bed that the red eyed creature in the start of this is halloween is under in Nightmare before Chirstmas

  • guess they decided to use it again.

  • What's wrong with coraline's teeth? one looks like as if it's chipped 0.o

  • I noticed that too. Then I realized that... Coraline is 11. And you know when kids lose their top teeth? I think that's her tooth that's growing back in.

  • no, I think it's her canine tooth.

  • Yeah, that's what I meant. It's her canine tooth growing in.

  • And this is for...kids...? Scared the crap out of me xD

  • hush, and shush, for the beldown might KILL YOU.

  • beldam its archaic for witch or old hag

  • ok this movie made me really freaked out

  • I love this movie!

  • wow you missed the best parts. i love all of this stuff!!!! i love nightmare before christmas!!! and all of these creepy and weird movies!!!

  • What I don't understand is what the Other Mother did with their souls. I mean, did she just use them for Coraline's entertainment [like the sac-like things Coraline rescued the marble from in the book] or long before Coraline even moved in? D:

  • idk wut she did to them but she dident do it for coalines entertainment she luered them thier just like coraline and sowed buttons into thier eyes and she planns to do the same with coraline

  • I think they were the victims of the Belldam (Other Mother) Who lived in the same house looong before she did.

  • yea, and the other mother probly got bored of them.

  • yup they r victims of the other mother but they didnt live in the house before her, she made dolls like them just like coraline's doll and gave them button eyes and one the girls is Wybie's grandmother's sister, u really have to see the movie coz its really cool

  • I did

But in the movie Wybie said that when his grandmother were kids, her sister disappeared and that's why his grandmother would "kill" him if he went in there. It sounds like they did live in that house when they were kids

  • oh yea maybe

  • 00:01

    Sorry... Stupid "Unavailable" videos... >_>

I'm seeing it again in 3D, for the third time... It's that good. Tehe. XD

  • Im reading the book its good the movie was good too

  • omg I just saw the movie! it was so good! and my friends said she read the book and it was so scary! is the book scary?

  • Im on page 24 and I have not got to the scary part yet But So far Its Great

  • The book isn't scary. It's pretty interesting; leaves you on the tips of your toes wanting to read the next page, and the next, and the next. :D

  • no, I personally don't think the book is scary, I have just finished the book, the character descriptions were great, and so were the illustrations.

    P.S-poor ghosts :(

  • whoa, time warp :-)

  • its really cool to see this in pre-production, with no music...and also the effect on the ghost childrens' voices is different than in the final cut..very interesting...thanks for the post (2 years ago) lol

  • i wish they had kept the scene without music and kept the childrens voices the same. that would have made it creepier. still. awesome movie!

  • This video is from 2007? Jeez.

  • This scene is one of my favorites from the entire movie. "She gave us everything we wanted, but we still wanted more. So we sewed the buttons. She said she loved us. But she ate our souls." Or something along those lines XD

  • "Gave all that we asked, yet we still wanted more.

So we let her sew the buttons.

She said that she loved us, but she locked us here, and ate up our lives."

Just in case you wanted the dialogue. I agree, great movie and great scene!!

  • This Movie was AWESOME!!!! I loved it

  • poor kids...

  • Why are you such an idiot for watching it?

  • i rember this part from the book.watching this part in 3-d glasses was very cool.

  • so good

  • luv it!! according to wikipedia "Beldam" is an archaic word for "hag/witch". so Beldam is the perfect name for the Other Mother!

  • i saw it today just like 1 hr ago it was amazing

it took 5 years to film

  • really?!?! WOW!

  • caitlinjane92 i cudnt agree more,

i havn't seen the film yet but it doesnt look as good as daa book

  • exalent movie

  • Can't wait to see this!

  • I saw it yesterday and it was Great

  • me too

  • this is what happens after 2! this movie is auwesome! i saw it today!

  • This movie was pretty good, but not as good as the book.

  • Should I buy the book?

  • yes it was a great book and movie

  • Do you think they would have it at Barnes and nobels?

  • Most definitely, Gaiman is one of the more popular writers out there and his 'The Graveyard Book' won a Newbury award so you'll probably find it at Barnes And Nobles.

"Coraline is the only tween that hates the Jonas Brothers"

  • i went to go see this movie yesterday it was awesome!!!!

  • creeeeepy

  • I went to see in the movies not to long ago. Was really good, it was slow, was waiting for something to happen; but then again it was a really good movie. Loved it, cant wait till it comes out on Dvd! Allso 9 looks good by; Tim Burton, yeah that looks awesome. really good movies 2008-2009, once again Coraline, great movie!

  • this movie looks really good

  • I went and saw it too

everything (except the "practically nude" grandmother) in this movie was awesome, especially in 3-D

  • Ya... same here it was awesome except the nude grandmas............

My favorite one of my favorite parts of the movie was the stuff animal that said "Hey baby! I wanta hug your face! lol

  • Oh......that part was pretty funny

The "Other Mother", for some odd reason, reminded me of Michael Jackson when she changed into her "true form"........a bit scary for the lil people

  • i watched it. it actually isn't soo babish it was awesome. 9/10

BUT the book is MUCH more scarier.

    i

  • This is the best movie EVER!!!!! so far.

  • omg, this movie was the best except for that naked gramma part.lol

  • Man it took a year for this movie to come out. This must have been alot of work to do.Coraline is 11.Its on her website.

  • omg this movie is awsome but freaky wen the mother turns all evil on her but its a great movi e and who ever say that this movie is something bad then got o hell u retARD

  • this was an amazing movie in 3-D!

  • THIS MOVIE WAS AMAZING xD

  • what did that boy say

  • I believe he said "Don't remember our names".

I can't remember exactly what he meant by that in the film, though.

  • I think he said, "We don't remember our names." It makes more sense seeing as her question was, "Who are you?"

  • They have all been there for at least a hundred years, so maybe after sitting in darkness for that long, they forgot their names. They probably went insane before they died, poor things.

  • Not a kids movie at all. Didn't like it all that much anyway.

  • careful around kids. its spooky and kinda graphic for small children.

    recommended age: 9+

  • this is such a freaky scene in the movie :o

  • she goes back in to face the other mother and get back her parents

  • Actually, she looks about 10-12-ish. Maybe 13.

  • She's Probably Older Than That

  • thank you for letting us use this it really helped.

  • when Coraline grows up, she gonna be hot. Like, Jill Valentine with blue hair!

  • Dakota Fanning is like 14 so best bet is that she is 14.

  • She Can't Be 11 She Has To Be Like 13-years-old Or 15-years-old

  • she is actually 12 Coraline

  • Oh My Goodness She Sounds Like A 16-year-old How Old Is She?

  • 11 lol

  • She's 14

  • rly? K thx (soz she looked 11 to me :/)

  • Yeah she looks much younger than she is (:

  • rofl no wonder, I'm 11 and i woulda been scared as hell if i wuz in her situation lol. I always thought she wuz 11 so i wuz like: "holy crap shes one brave kid O.O" Lol

  • Creepy...

  • i remember that part that part was kinda creepy in the movie. XD

  • OMG Is That Dakota Fanning As Coraline?

  • yea it is. I personally thought she did good.

  • omg wtf

  • I SO want to see it. I'm going either THIS week or next, but the room in the book was SMALL no bed, just like a tiny pantry! And yeah nimnestl is right, it takes YEARS for stop animation to come out. That's why sometimes you'll find the WHOLE movie on youtube. It just leaks out.

  • Yeah, I'm itching to see it myself, despite the annoying voice of Teri Hatcher! I'm a Neil Gaiman fan, so I hope the movie does the book justice.

  • Define "doing the book justice."

  • how the keck did u get this in 2007 when the movie came out a few days ago?

  • Coraline, as with most movies, has been in production for years. Bits are released to stir interest in the film, hence the word preview.

  • it was a sneak preview and the person did say this is the first Video of coroline so dont expect that when movies are announced that the very time it is annoucned that is when its being made movies take A LONG Time to make

  • I don't know why, but I think coraline is a pretty hot looking pice of clay.

  • she isnt clay anymore lol now they use plastic snap on parts and a gel like substance... and robotics.

  • I loved this movie!!! it was such a trip!!!!

  • (ghost children) "hush and shush... for the beldam might be listening."

    (coraline) "who are you?"

(ghost children) "we don't remember our names, but we remember how much our mommys' loved us. the witch watches you through the dolls eyes, finds out what's wrong with your life. she gave us everything we dreamed of, but we still wanted more. so we let her sew the buttons, and she ate up our lives." I saw the movie and now I. obsessed!! its so good, yet creepy.

  • IMHO Coraline is the best 3-D film in just about....well forever I guess,

If you really want an experience

go see it in 3-D if you can,

I just really hope they'll also be doing the DVD in 3-D.

  • I frickin LOVE coraline

  • :D thats the most tripiest movie ive ever seen

    its TRIPTASTIC!!!!1
