This ... this anime is the only thing I watched in my life that actually made me want to cry. It was so beautiful. For some reason I feel like this is what's going to happen with me and my friend. the truth is that black rock shooter and mato are from parallel worlds and when shooter merged with mato she became asleep and the story WILL continue from the game
it seems to me that the end mato's story in this is the beginning of shooter's story in this, as in they meld then face dead master as seen in the earlier cuts. kinda confusing that they don't clarify this. so to say it clearer if you took mato's sections and cut them out and put them in front the story makes more sense.
i think this movie was the start and the end. you know with the fighting parts, which was the end. so we pretty much watched both parts at the same time

The way I see it, the alternate world was a metaphor for Mato's fight to win back Yomi's trust, after their friendship started to die. Yomi blamed Mato for their growing apart, and wanted to be rid of her memory (hence the fight), but Mato refused to let their friendship be lost, and brought Yomi back to the "real world" by reminding her how much they cared for each other (when she forced Yomi into the hug). Moral: never let go of someone you love without a fight.

Movie was ok but kind of a let down after all the hype, particularly the fight scenes between Black Rock Shooter and Dead Master, the art was nice but there were no real wow factors or suspense in the action and story.

Aw man!!! That's it?! what happened to Yomi? Why exactly were Black Rock Shooter and that evil looking Yomi fighting? Where did Black Rock Shooter come from? What is she? She certainly doesn't seem human with that glowing eye of her's. What happens with Yomi and Mato? What the deal with the cell phone charm glowing and transporting her to that weird place? TOO MANY QUESTIONS LEFT UNANSWERED!!! It seems like this is the sequel to something else... all I saw were the 6 parts to this OVA. HELP ME!

It's really true all people care about now is the characters, not the story. I'm sorry but that just bored the hell out of me. Did they ever attempt to show the furthering of their relationship other than that shitty montage of them doing stereotypical friendship things? :/

@Spellsinger7 I'm sorry, I just expected a lot more from this OVA, being that it's incredibly popular for what it is. I'll give it that BRS's and DM's character designs are neat, but I just don't understand the fascination with it any further than that. (Cough.. below comments, THIS IS THE BEST THING I'VE EVER SEEN.) Biggest hyperbole I've ever read.

Movie was ok but kind of a let down after all the hype, particularly the fight scenes between Black Rock Shooter and Dead Master, the art was nice but there were no real wow factors or suspense in the action and story.

yeah, I think there's going to be more episodes. Remember that white haired girl with the two huge metal arm things? they never explained who she was or why she was in the same realm as BRS. I'm sure they'll go more in depth. Best fan animation i've ever seen.
