@TheBroadway1000 That was Katie, too. Different wig, same actress. She was Cosette in the West End for three months (which is why she is in this trailer) before becoming part of the UK tour (so she's in that trailer, too) and then jumped in when Camilla Kerslake dropped out of the concert (so she's on film there, too).
@TheBroadway1000 Considering she played a character in 1832 Paris and her hair hardly looked period-appropriate, I think it would have been odd if she hadn't worn a wig, actually...
For the confused fans, Les Mis really is the longest running musical. It opened in the West End in 1985 and Phantom opened a year later in October 1986. However, Phantom is the longest running on Broadway I think, so that might be why there was a bit of confusion in the comments below.
Watching this gives me shivers. I want to cry every time Eponine comes on singing 'On My Own' it's just beautiful. Really want to be her in the school show! :S
Did they just put katie hall in a brown wig because eponine has blonde hair? She has such beautiful blonde hair! Why would they do that? Eponine and cosette almost always have brown hair...why not blonde?
@ CharlieBrown06, I couldn't have said it better! This will be my second time seeing it in Broadway in Chicago, however my now 16 year old daughter, played the role of Fantine in her 8th grade spring musical production of Les Mis and so now this piece of theater has even more special, heartfelt meaning to me. I am SO excited to go see it with her on the 17th of this month!
uuuuhm.... The world’s longest-running musical? I don’t think so!!! Phantom holds the record for Broadway, ok, but how about The Fantasticks, which opened in the 60s and run for over 40 years in New York?
@Showaholic Phantom opened in 1988 on Broadway. This opened in 1985 (west end). Les Mis has been there longer. They mean, the longest running in a venue like Broadway or West end.
My absolute favourite musical of all time I must say seeing it for the 7th time in july can't wait!!!!
