the only reason it really barks is the single exhaust it has i drove a 3600 sline with a N14 475 and on the jakes it barked same as my fleet liner 470
Where I used to be a volunteer fireman we had an old Seagrave cab-forward pump that was repowered with a 6V-53T. It had an EIGHT-INCH exhaust pipe coming from the muffler and boy that thing sounded so sweet!!
I know a 6V-53 when I hear one and this one is definitely a 6V-53. I've worked on at least one truck that had one (albeit turbocharged). Going to my 6V-53 play list. 5 STARS.
Detroit Diesel 6V53N 2 stroke - 318 cubic inches (5.2 litres, the same size as Isuzu's modern N-Series 4 cylinder turbo diesel) - power is about 180hp dependant on injector choice!

There was also the 8V-53N, but it was short-lived for the most part.

The non-turbo 6V-53 was 215 HP until about 1972 when it was downgraded to 195 HP. With the turbo the HP goes back up to 225.
