Suggestion: Some of what you are covering here is in an excellent, free video on YouTube [go to YouTube>(type in) First Invasion War of 1812 part 1]. There are 9 parts, and it is done by the History Channel. It can be used in part or whole and is an excellent audio-visual supplement.
Google>Videos also has links to many historical topics you can simply type into the Search box.
Note: Google Videos is not the same thing as Google’s YouTube, although you many connect to YouTube through it.
@alanlavich Thank for the constuctive criticism, Alan. I am trying to improve on exactly these issues. I post these after a full-days work in the classroom and after getting my kids down to sleep. I am writing back to you as my four-year-old daughter calls for me; so the cycle continues. Can you name one specific example of mispronuciation? None of this information is new to me, so I find that unlikely. Some of my other postings are not so rife with awkward pauses. Best~
@dlgoyette what I mean by mispronunciation only has to do with the voice and diction, not anything in any historical context. You also are a very secure person to accept criticism in such a positive way and the spirit in which it was intended.
The short response prevented me from adding that you are excellent. Your passion for history and teaching make up for any minor glitches in a quick presentation. Heck, you see worse on CNN.
@dlgoyette, I would love to be taking AP History with someone so capable, and I am anxious to explore your other videos. I hang on every word because there is so much in there. Your outlines are more thorough than anything I have listened to on the History Channel.
