  • what year is your ranger, and did you do all the mods yourself or did you get the kit they offer online, the reason i ask is because i have an 02 and am about to do the swap and dont know if what the offer will work, just trying to learn as i go.

  • Dunno. It's too light. Gets pretty squirely at high speeds. But it will outrun c6 corvette top speed

  • how fast will the truck acutally do

  • Wow teela tha tard what part of everything came from a v8 explorer do u not understand including the gauge pod that is calibrated for a....anybody......anybody.....yes v8 and I would be more than happy to run ur 347 stroker puttin out bout 420 horse with my 93 stang with 500 horse turbo 2.3 and yes that is a 4 banger and no the tbird is not a police interceptor and it just happens to be a v6

  • Watching this idiot drive I would be surprised if both vehicles are still in one piece. And on a side note, there is no way in hell that's a police interceptor. They haven't made a Thunderbird interceptor since Lee Iococa invented the Mustang. What a poser. Hey shitbird, wanna run me and My Mustang? (83 with a 347 Ford Racing crate engine) I also have a 2010 Ranger with a 4 banger, I use it as a ``truck``, look into it.

  • what rims are on the ranger?

  • All I gotta say is Whoa....

  • Gotta be a 5.0 out of a GT....

  • whats yr mileage with the ranger?

  • Seems you forgot about the GMC Syclone produced in the early '90s. It STILL holds the title of fastest production sport truck to this day and yes...will outrun a Lightning and overweight SRT10. Watch the YouTube videos of it if you don't believe me. I recently bought a super-clean, '97 Ranger with a 4.0 and only 116,000 miles. Just a great running dependable truck. I'm considering a V8 conversion in a couple of years though.

  • You know what I like to think, Ford didn't need a government bailout, while GM did. That about sums up my thought on the two companies.

  • that things is a fucking beast dude.

  • love tht ranger guys did a nice job hope u gett alot of race wins over ford hating chevy loving ppl cuz they wont shut up -_- about how great gm is even tho its a pretty perdictable brand lol nice job

  • tach looked right dude.have a 281 4v that'll hit 7000rpm....ha!

  • @fordfnatx Hey shitnipples, the factory tach was calibrated for a 4 or 6 cylinder. You know, the ones that fire 4 or 6 times per revolution. So a v8 firing.....anybody.....anybody....yes 8 times per revolution will give that poor tach a false reading, therefore showing more revolutions per minute.

  • Very doubt that the tachometer is correct because we have a bmw 745i and it revs at a litlle above 7,000.

  • what did you take the v8 out of?

  • No it's probably a ford 9 inch you can see it's disc brakes on the rear end.

  • What did you use for a tranny?

  • that thing is fucking beautiful!

  • anybody know if i can fit a 429 and c6 combo in a 96 ranger???

  • @bionikfocus05 no but id love to see the truck when your done cause it'll probley be able to pull the frount wheels off the ground lol

  • too bad the speedo isnt correct.

  • gah im jealous!!! how much money you put into swappin that?

  • What rearend is in that puppy, and did you box the frame in?

  • @heydudetyler1 It's probably still the 8.8 with some good parts in it. The 8.8 is an incredibly good rear - if you build them right, they will handle quite a few HP....

  • i was just wondering, is there anything that you have to do to the truck other than put a 5.0l in it? like do you need a new transmision or anything? please respod

  • Love that scratch.

  • Maybe you should calibrate your tach and speedo ! I doubt what i saw there is accurate.

  • Maybe you should calibrate your tach and speedo !

  • holy shit he's barkin the rubber in 2nd gear

  • @Radatatify Hey i gotta 97 extended cab and i shit u not it barks all the way through 3rd gear

  • It looks like a 302 nice I'll trade u jk

  • Awesome Ranger!!!! How about some specs as to the motor in particular.

  • dang my ranger shakes like crazy at 90 i can only imagine wht itd do at 120 lol

  • @rc8rsracer brobably your tires not ballanced bro, mine is smoother at 115 than 60, lol but its a lightly modified 4.0 and won't go much faster.

  • @shizloops2 maybe its also old its a 97 and i just got a leak fixed now its riding just fine i think it was a balancing problem :)

  • how much is that turck worth??? i about to buy one exaly the same 5.0 ho engine,it looks exaly the same, what time do you get in the 1/4 mile, and the mphs, what year is yours,,,good video,,,please respond asap

  • I have a question about your tach. I've put a 350 'Vette motor in a 1994 B4000 (with 38" tires). When I put it in and hooked everything up to the factory gauges, my tack was off... it was still reading for a v6. I could rev to 6000 easy, but it was actually only 4500... I've since installed a complete autometer gauge package and verified this. Just wondering if your's is actually reving to 7000+?

  • @Scooter780

All you have to do is get the cluster for a v8 mountaineer or explorer :)

  • they way it shifts. that light ass frame makes no lag time. what is it??? plz tell me

  • yo man what motor you got in there. im thinking about v8 swap my 97 ranger single cab step side

  • Ford Ranger is a great little pickup.

The V6 4.0 Liter offers great power and MPG.

  • t-bird burnout! NO! Skid YES! bad ass lol Ranger beyond bad ass !

  • What transmission do you got in that? Also, it looks like your tach needle is about to hit your speedo needle lol

  • u engine turns 7000 rpm.... what motor u got.. 4.6 or 5.0

  • hahahaha asss man

  • that ranger is sick! i'm doin an '87 and trying to get a 347 and a t5

  • @hitmansmurder

do post videos when its done. and go find some vettes to play with or somethin :)

  • 302 roller rocker motor?

  • did that licence plate say "Arkansas"?

  • great vid!

  • what kind of engine is that? doesn't look like an exploder V8...

  • dude that sound gives me an orgasm a vary manly orgasm

  • could it b that the motor turns around 7 grand? even though the tack stops at six. cause it idle the tach looked fine.

  • Tach signal is different on a V8 than the 4 or 6 cylinder you took out, thats why it shows so high of RPMs! A stock 5.0 is limited to 6250 RPMs! Also, there never was a PI version of the MN12 T-Bird! Nice truck though.

  • First, there never was a "Police interceptor" version of an MN12 T-Bird, second the tach is way off because it used to have a 4 or 6 cylinder in it and the V8 uses a different tach signal, which reads higher on the tach! Overall nice looking swap though!

  • nice and clean work man. check out my ranger.

  • nice vehicle! makes you wish they had a 5.0 option on rangers in production doesnt it? its a great match-up

  • that thing is fast

  • bitch is bad ass. nice job

  • PROPS man that has a shit load of acceleration tight ranger

  • i love the tac

  • funny thing what a 6cyl tack looks like on an 8 cyl. hook up an aftermarket and you will see very different results. but YOU already know that. nice truck though. cudos.

  • chirped that shit

  • That's awesome how you made that 5.0 fit like factory....and those wheels are PERFECT

  • a 302 will fit under a Ranger hood no problem. They're basically a bolt-in from an Explorer. :)

  • how do you do a burnout like that

  • man that shit is a sexy ass ranger...

    nice job

  • very cool ciford is a douche

  • V8 ranger under the hood? Your telling everybody on you tube, that you stuffed a V8 ford ranger under the hood of a car or truck.. hum...V8 ranger under the hood....Under the hood of what? and how did you get it to fit?

  • i think he meant to put a comma after ranger

  • ur a tard

  • looks like the 5.8 winsor from a 1993 ford lightning

  • thats one of my dream rides, ford lightning with a 351

  • Super Nice Job!

  • dude do you have a key in the ignition

  • how do u get the tach and stuff to work with the conversion?

  • this is sick haha and its real lol i like the" how much does it weigh u ask" haha

  • how did you get the electronic stuff to work

  • wats up i have a 2001 ranger xlt i just blew the motor and i might as well go 5.0 can you help me out and give me the full details of your swap ?

  • well 120 yea such a small truck and a v8? yea def. 120

  • hey man i built the same truck except i carburated it. it is out of a 2000 explorer. is there a header for this thing i havnt gotten egzaust yet. i am running the stock headers now. i have heard they suck what do you think? i have the gt 40 heads.

  • custom made headers and edelbrock heads and intake

  • man i need some help do you have any idea what kind of headers will fit the gt40p heads or who could make a set of headers to fit them. or maybe even are you capable of making them for a fee? any suggestions will help i cant find anything!!!!!!!!!!

  • They totally suck. Look strange and hold a lot of horsepower

  • @dsmith34057 dude go with trickflow twisted wedge heads, a single plane intake and a carb with around 670 cfm. with a good cam and your stock bottom end this is close to 400 horse.

  • @dsmith34057 dude what year is yer truck we just got done with my bros ranger we took the motor outta a 2000 explorer to and got the gt40 heads

  • is that engine out of a V8 explorer?

  • best ranger ever!

  • sick as hell makes me wan a ranger

  • GREAT TRUCK!

But the motor.. isn't that just your basic 302 out of a T-Bird?

    Still.. awesome job!

  • Holy hell I have to do that to my Ranger. You need to do a how to video series. BTW I also live in Arkansas.

  • holy shit thats awesome.

  • i meant to say, if you use a 5.0 from an explorer, would you just use the transmission from the explorer also?

  • If you use a 5.0 from an explorer, would you just use the one from the explorer?

  • thats nice!

  • What was the engine from? I have a '99 Ranger and i'd love to do the same thing.

  • from an explorer. thats what most people use. and yeah i have a 98 so i wanna do it too. lifts and mud tires keep me from it though. lol

  • how do you afford a v8 in a ranger?

  • get a 5.0 explorer. its actually not too hard. same frame and everything.

  • no how can he afford the labor charges? engines can be found anywhere

  • labor? yeah right. most people dont pay a shop to do that. they do it their self. it would be pretty sad if you paid a shop to do all that for you.

  • well not everyone knows how to pull an engine out, disconnect it, has equipment to pull it out with, and knows how to replace a transmission. wat the hell...

  • some people have friends..... if if you dont have friends or at least tools then you really dont need to be driving a truck that modified. you'll be screwed when it breaks something.

  • no i dont have redneck friends. its called ill pay it cuz i live in the richest city in america

  • thats got some ball hairs

  • True on the speedo, but what a bad ass little truck.

HATERS = jealous and or stupid

  • ok everybody, he didnt really go 120, because of the computer on the new engine its not reading anything correct, thats why it looks like its over revving, they were most likely going about 80-90

  • if its a 2wheels ABS the speed reading was correct since the signal come from the rear diff ;)

  • nope

  • 5.0??

  • damn nice

  • mud flaps, are you serious ??? but nice truck and thats one hell of a shift kit you got... i like the whoa part of the t-bird

  • do these swaps require lots of modifications or are they simple? Nice truck by the way.

  • hey i own a 2002 xlt ranger 3.0 we have justblew it up racing a 4.8silverado won but lost the heart of it ok well i know to do a 302 swap you need mounts radiator and headers and oil filter location but could i still use the c4 trans and rear end not to much on the rear is gonna stay but need to know about the 302 and c4 likeing each other

  • my dads got a 4x4 exploder with a 5.0 in it. always wondered what it would be like in a ranger. thats hella tight.

  • Dodge Sucks

  • RIGHT ON BROTHER!!!!

  • nice, i have a 91 im about to drop a built 1965 289 in, i get it finish we need to go have some fun... here comes the danger rangers!!!

i see you kept the stock gauges, my tach stops at 6k but my speedo only goes to 85 lol

  • YES thats sick

  • no abs

  • nice sleeper truck

  • Its like a mini Lightning

  • Ford rules!!!

  • is that a nitrous switch i see!!

  • Sick truck...

Is it 4x4? I can't tell if that's a transfer case or exhaust hanging below... Not to mention the minimal tire spin...

  • police interceptor Thunderbird? weird.

  • how fast is that 5.0 ranger on the strip?

  • Both the tach and the speedo are off. The stock tires are probably a great deal taller, and the tach is for a v6. You might try hunting down an explorer cluster to get the right tach readout.I would guess you were only doing 80-90 when it hit 120.

NICE swap tho and cocky exhaust.

  • the person who posted the video already addressed this, he responded to thetmaxx:

"tach is accurate, we checked it with aftermarket tach and the truck has a custom tuned chip on it that corrects for the change in gear ratio and tire size. also the speedo has been checked with gps"

  • So he is doing 7500rpm? It goes awful far past the 6000 which is as far as the stock Ranger tach goes. I also own 2 trucks with a 5.0 and it doesn't sound like he is doing that kind of RPM, maybe 5500 at the max (which would just about blow my two trucks apart). If it's real then great! badass truck.

  • that thunderbird looked stock 2 me mine would burn out easier then that and it was stock

  • how mph can that thing go

  • so wait..you can take a V8 explorer engine and put in a ranger? you gotta tell me how. i own a 95

  • yeah dude alot of people take the rear axle the engine and tranny and all the wiring from explorers for a swap into a ranger im doing it over the summer. its actually a easy swap visit therangerstationdotcom for more info

  • nice swap! im surpised more people dont do this. im guessing the engine bay is the same as the explorers so i dont think it would be too hard

  • I have a 99 Ford Ranger with a 351 Wienser Crate motor in mine thats supercharged that burns out in every gear

  • ARKANSAS LIC PLATE # 744 KLZ

  • yeah thats the beauty of it. have a cop run that plate and see what he gets. bet it comes up as a 88 mustang or somethin. its just a plate we found and stuck on there. it doesnt even register to us.

  • dodge makes a faster stock truck with that v8 in that ford ofcourse it will be fast no shit i have a dakota 5.9 it runs light truck big motor duh although ima mopar guy i give u props on ur truck it is fast 1st time i have ever seen somone do it to a ranger looks like it hooks real well seen s10 swaps 1st ranger keep up the good work if only ford could make a good strong motor that last lol maybe around the time dodge gets its trannys right lol good vid bro

  • ahhhh... 5.0 explorer swap... did you use the OBD2 electronitc? i noticed the coil packs...

    Sweet truck bro!

  • Damn, I want.

  • dude

i fucking hate ford but that ranger is badfuckin ass =]

  • Why do you hate ford?

  • idk

i just grew up around chevys and i thnk there ugly :P

  • SWEET!

  • i don't know why ford did'nt put the 5.0 in the ranger in the first place . nice swap! the ranger has always been under powered the 4.0 was ok for power but 5.0 is what the ranger needs nice work.

  • Hey what exhaust are you running? I just love how the exhaust has that cracking/popping when you were revin it a little. Which Mufflers LT or Shorties?

  • damn that was bad ass.

  • That's a sweet looking ranger there & I love that big Edlebrock 5.0 intake in there. Perfect color also. The only thing I would change is the position of the Flowmaster and put on some Flowmaster tips. Other then that things hauls ass & I love that ranger.

  • the swap looks clean.

  • what size V8 does it got?

  • 302 (5.0L)

  • I would almost guarantee your tachometer is wired wrong. For the newer rangers you have to swap one of the pins to make it read right. for that matter your speedo is probably off to with those tiny tires.

  • tach is accurate, we checked it with aftermarket tach and the truck has a custom tuned chip on it that corrects for the change in gear ratio and tire size. also the speedo has been checked with gps

  • o fo sho

  • an s10 and silverado eater! haha yeah!

  • Amazing, just amazing! :) Jack

  • They should make a 5.0L SVT Ranger. so like a ranger with the body of a SXT ranger but a 302. in it or a supercharged 3.0/4.0L

    BE A BADASS TRUCK haha

  • i have a 2005 ford ranger xlt 2 door only i wish i had gotten it with 4 doors.but the great thing is that i only have 21,000 some odd miles on it.i love it alot oh and it has a 3.0 engine but man i wish i had this v8 under my hood.

  • is your truck a 5 speed or auto cause i have a 3.0 in my truck and its weak as hell

  • what a kick ass ford ranger, really man

  • police intercepter lol haha now we all knw y our mustangs out run the cops every saturday nite haha

  • hola me podrias decir que motor traees que yo tengo un ranger 2000 y son bien burros

  • i ahve a ranger and baught a mustang v8, should the bolt patterns be close to similar?

  • holy shit that thing goes!

  • NICE.. I have a 2001 ford ranger. Will I be able todo the same thing that you did to yours?? By the way how many cubic inches is the engine???

  • its 302 im guessin

  • yes 342

  • srt-10 killer haha nice

  • Great Job Very Nice Work, Looks and Sounds and performs awsom

  • *cringes*

    tires cost money xP

love the danger ranger though, i'm hoping to score the 1969 302 SB from my dad for mine

  • i'm a toyota guy and even i think that thing is awesome! nice truck man!

  • ricer

  • Nice, looks pretty fast! How about some track times.

  • got track vids on my page

  • im not sure what rear-end gears you are running, or what tires you are using, but your truck hooks off the line extremely well. nice job!

  • 3.27 with drag radials. had 3.73 and it spun to much on hole shot and wound motor out too much on 1/4
