  • nice flight..:)

  • RIP Columbia crew.....

  • columbia was pretty battle scarred by this time, but it still had the best burn in my opinion out of the other shuttles, this was simply a freak occurance,i blame nasa as they should of made absolutly sure that foam would not drop off,it was in the specs

  • no boom? what happen?

  • this plus mr rogers theme song is awsome

  • CHECK OUT "UFO Disclosure, Revelations & the 2012 Connection" ON

YOUTUBE This is a compilation of evidence revealed by former military personnel,

astronauts, politicians, American presidents. This contains credible aired news

UFO footage. The compilation reveals knowledge of life beyond Earth + the current

ongoing presence and initiated contact which has being hidden from the public for

    over 50 years + more.

  • @Futurecop2012 lay off the crack, brah.

  • Don't let Obama take away What little FLorida has left..

  • who saw the bird fly by in the beginning

  • when was the foam strike?

  • @pckthooks133 In this video it occurred at 1:40. You can't see it, though.

  • careless peoples do calreless things...all about is the cash in there pocket...who's care how many life exploded...As long I can drive Mercedes and Have bigs Yatch, and a nice home ....Boy this nation sure know how to lies to everyone and convince evrone going to be alright...WHAT A BRAIN WASHER NATION..LIFE GO ON WITH MORE MISTAKE TO MAKE....

  • @ltp9735

Lol I dislike America as much as the next person, but the brilliant workers at NASA can not be blamed for carelessness after setting up missions like this for years strenuously looking over everything. A shuttle launch is a complicated fucking thing, and there are a lot of variables and things that can go wrong... What shithole country are you from?

  • Verygood nation of speed worker, more cash more deaths, fist was Challenger and than Columbia...Its just another day in paridise

  • RIP:

    Rick Husband 1957-2003

    William McCool 1961-2003

    David Brown 1956-2003

    Michael Anderson 1959-2003

    Laurel Clark 1961-2003

    Ilan Ramon 1954-2003

  • RIP Ilan Ramon

  • What!? It's over?? WTF it's missing something no??

  • where is the explosion??

  • @NaziOmega It says "Last Launch becuase it was the last launch of Columbia before it was destroyed during re-entry

  • @TWproductions5667844 ok . . but where is the explosion ?? O.O

  • @NaziOmega The accident happend on re-entry after their mission was over. The small damage happened on take off. They were unaware until after

  • @AngelOfNight9 geezzzzzz i know but where is the fucking explosion ???

  • @NaziOmega There isn't one....... This is just a a video of launch before conducting their successful mission in space. There was no explosion just a break up upon re-entry after the mission was over. Any video of re-entry simply shows the shittle start to break apart and another video of inside the shuttle that survived of them before it cuts out, before they died.

  • @NaziOmega

There was no explosion during launch. The shuttle made it to space. It was damaged during launch but it broke apart on re-entry 17 days later. You must be thinking of the Challenger disaster. That is the one that exploded during launch.

  • @Kingfordian22 ok then i will find someone else in other video to bother him

  • @NaziOmega

    You are a stupid pussy.

  • @JuNgLeRoCKa yeah . . and u are a big ass motherfucker

  • And in the video... it also says 39 degrees... for the dummy who typed that info above -.-

  • I really dont wanna bust yall's bubbles but Columbia's Orbital Inclination wasnt 51.6 degrees. It was 39 degrees. Most shuttle missions today have 51.6degrees as they climb to the International Space Station (ISS) but Columbia never once docked with it

  • vote up for a better space shuttle design!

  • THIS PIECE OF "JUNK" HAS KILLED 14 PEOPLE SO FAR!!! WHERE IS THE ESCAPE SYSTEM NASA? WHERE WERE THE ON BOARD EXTERNAL CAMERAS MONITORING THE VEHICLE???

  • @Puff29646 how do you expect to have an escape system capable of gently bringing down an entire shuttle that has a ripped off wing from the atmosphere going at that speed?

  • @manaray10 Who said anything about gently bringing down a 90 tonne shuttle?

  • @Puff29646 well if its anything other then, people are going to die. all in all, there is no "escape" system

  • @manaray10 Exactly!!! That is why 14 human beings have dies and THAT is why the present Space Shuttle Transportation System concept is a massive failure!!! Where was their escape system NASA???

  • @Puff29646 i dont see how there could ever be an escape system. theres just too large of craft and too high of speed. but it doesnt really matter anymore since there is not gonna be a space program anymore.

  • @manaray10 The Saturn Five is the biggest most powerful rocket ever brought to operational status. It generated 7.6 million lbs of thrust at 190,000,000 horse power and burned 23 tonnes of fuel per second at lift off and it did have an escape system. Furthermore, the manned space program is in shambles because 14 dead! 14 dead because of no escape system. Those in NASA that say it can not be done are the first I would fire. That is what engineers do. They solve problems.

  • @manaray10 Gifted engineers plan for ALL contingencies and solves problems before they arise.

  • @Puff29646 14 people in like what? 30 years? thats wayyyyy better than airplanes, but people dont give airplanes the same bad rep. im not saying it doesnt need to be looked into, but 2 fails out of hundreds of successes isnt really that bad.

  • @cowsrock94 There have been millions of aircraft built. Billions of passengers and billions of flights. Compared statistically aircraft are WAY safer. Same analogy as automobiles some compare. Sure there are more deaths by other means of transportation. However, look how often and how long that mode of transportation has been in use, its number of passengers, vehicles, etc, etc. Statistically the shuttle is the most catastrophic in history.

  • @Puff29646 good point.

  • OH MIGHTY COLUMBIA GODDESS I BOW DOWN TO YOUR MAJESTY

  • what was the mondification on top of the Columbias vertical stabilizer, because also space shuttle don't have??????:-??:-??:-??

  • I am surprised this accident wasnt blamed on George Bush....yet at least.

  • To the person who put this video up in any other video onprogram. In any way of getting copies of all this sent to me I am trying to put our collection together. And I do not have a lot of the space shuttle flights, and even good footage of the Apollo. Please contact me by a private message Michelle

  • There are ways of downloading YouTube videos. They're frowned upon by the admins, but it's easy to do.

  • @MsSeidelin try keepvid [dot] com download in mp4 (flv is difficult to open). the launch video is public domain as a work of the federal govt

  • @joshatkins94 i blame it on him. he shoulda funded more money to go save them before reentry

  • Damn. I honestly don't know what's worse......knowing when your going to die or not knowing when.

Did I hear right they scrubbed this particular mission at least 18 times?!?! I think I heard that on a documentary about the crew and how they bonded together.

  • this is the challenger they just changed the audio look up challenger its the smae video the columbia exploded on reentry not levaing

  • @THOMASGODBOUT123 This is NOT Challenger. Challenger didn't make it to SRB Sep. Nothing exploded in this video, it's simply the final launch of Columbia. Most of us remember what the reentry disintegration looked like. I also remember the seeing the Challenger disintegrate on live TV. That's something I'll never forget.

  • @THOMASGODBOUT123

no you dumbshit. This video is the Columbia's last launch. The SRB's were still on the Challenger when it exploded. Challenger blew up 73 seconds after launch. This launch of the Columbia was a success, excpet for the foam that hit the wing, which later caused the Columbia to disintegrate upon re-entry. Get your facts straight.

  • if it exploded how come they kept talking about how everything was looking fine? and what is that shining object at 1:57?

  • Columbia never exploded....

  • @mach25man ive been looking for the one shuttle that blew up, i was like 8 and i really wanna see it.

  • You need to look up the Challenger accident.

  • My favourite Shuttle is the "Endeavour"

  • @Olebruc me, too :p

  • is a damn good name

  • my favourite color is red....

  • Endeavour just retire >very dedicated to NASA space flight

  • I fly out of Rick Husband Amarillo International Airport all the time and I say God Bless their souls each time I do

  • RIP Columbia

  • i want to meet the guy who comes up with all those witty comments after launch

  • i watched that there standing on the highway with hundreds of people crying and screaming i bearly remember though i was only 8

  • f22... yeah it did, upon re-entry

  • i knew that already idiot

  • then who are you saying duh too?

  • whatever and dont ansewr back

  • hello =)

did you know the shuttle disintegrated on re-entry?

  • im not stupid alright who doesnt know that

  • It actually disintegrated upon re-entry Space Shuttle Challenger exploded upon take off.

  • God bless the Columbia and her crew. :(

  • Comment removed

  • god has nothing to do with it.

  • There's always the chance NASA knew the damage would be fatal, but didn't tell the crew because it would affect morale, and there was nothing they could do about it anyway. Sending up a rescue shuttle would have cost billions and probably brought about the end of the space program. One of NASA's own employees described a phenomenon called "normalisation of deviance," whereby they get used to systems failing to the point where it's normal - like the o-ring problem which claimed Challenger.

  • Your out of your mind !

  • i love america space shuttle is the best,,,

i dont like ussr russia buran,,,

ussr russia is a very cheap space buran shuttle,,,

ussr russia is always copy steal from america space shuttle

  • I remember cnn saying that NASA engineers didnt think it was nesessary to check the wing; and i thought at that time at age 23 that that was really fucking stupid to risk a 4 billion dollar machinary for a ten thousand dollar space walk oh yea and peoples lives.

  • Columbia was the only one unequipped to leave the orbiter while in space. Also several other safety items that it was due to receive.

  • Columbia had 2 space suits on board to do a space walk if required. Safety wise all orbiters were the same.

  • Has anyone of you heard of Space Shuttle Mission 2007 or at least Space Shuttle Simulator I believe..? Any?

  • Nice mate! Nice Intercommunication! Recorded exactly how it launched. Booster Separation is about 200,000+ feet above sea level.

  • Love the stupid commentators; "national and international" experiments....stupid, clunky line not well thought out. Then the other one starts yakking right away and talks over the crew calling the roll program, nice.

  • it was a foam strike from the fuel tank....they're pretty common but this one hit direct on the wing and caused a hole which brought columbia down on re-entry.

  • a sponge came loose and blew a hole somewhere in the shuttle.

  • nice...but sad :(

  • *very sad!

  • nice
