  • THAT IS TALENT ~~~~~ !!!!!!!

Thanks so much for this posting.

  • I have been in love with Beverly Bivens since ...I heard her sing in 1965. Still am. Now , is it just me, or does Chrissie Hynde bear a striking resemblance to Bev, especially in the picture of Bev on this page for "We Five's "YOU LET A LOVE BURN OUT"? And I can hear an influence of Bev in Chrissie's voice at times. Chrissie has good taste in influences. Bev Bivens still owns my heart.

  • I love the way they do the chorus, so different from the Youngbloods, really cool rhythm and harmony.

  • In the Great Universal Encyclopedia, turn to the word "charisma". The picture is Bev Bivens.

  • Nice Rickenbacker! Classic sound not as evident as it was in," You Were On My Mind ".

  • I can think of a couple voices like Grace Slick for one. Spanky and our gang for another. Mama Cass also.

  • @diboimat50 dont forget Ann Wilson of "Heart "

  • vocals are great, but the music should be a bit more dynamic to fit the song.

  • All too short.

  • Way better than the Youngbloods. Maybe cause they didn't do drugs?

  • aint dat like de song Lez Gets Toogedder, Ya Ya Ya!

  • one of the great many versions of this iconic song that means more than the music . written by dino valenti , member of the great quicksilver messenger service , was 1st performed by the kingston trio ,then dino v., david crosby , then jefferson airplane , sans grace , and made famous by the youngbloods as the great anthem it became . I love this version , and the folk version sung by joni mitchell , john sebastian , and crosby , stills , and nash . check out the hp lovecraft version ...

  • Excellent -- what a lucky find!

  • Oh I love it - wow!

  • Great. Just GREAT.

  • Can you believe they did the first version of the Chet Helms song before The Youngbloods did? You'll notice that Beverly Bivens is wearing ankle go-go boots and there's a difference between go-go boots and Mod boots: Go-go boots were made in America, were foot or ankle-high, and used no more than a 1' heel (riding or figure skating boots) while Mod boots were made in England, went up to the thigh, and used longer heels. I understand Herculon was the company that made go-go boots in the mid-60's.

  • @EricandDish I had some go-go boots!

  • Director is an idiot. She is a great dancer and part of her charm as a front is her movement: so put her on a tiny platform.

  • And a happy 65th birthday today (Thurs.) to Bev Bivens...!

  • If any female voice exceeds Bev Bivens let's hear it!

Talk about beauty sounds that shake you up!!

  • @1mikeharr1 Try Judith Durham of The Seekers. I like BB too, but it isn't even close.

  • @bigmarty56 Oh, it;'s close, bigmarty. :) I'm a huge fan of both. Judith is superb but Beverly's soprano work on songs like "Tonight" and "Beyond the Sea" is pretty terrific, too. I think Bev has a greater range (four octaves) but yeah, it's tough to put anyone above Judith. But IMO, it's a close call... :)

  • BEVERLY BIVENS! If only there were singers and bands like that today in the 21 century. I guess that will never happen by what I see.

Thank You Beverly for your contribution to the 60's Sir David

  • @sixtiesforever1966 You can't say never, this generation'

s first night on center stage takes place in Summer '12.

  • Thanks for posting this video.

  • Another lost treasure. Great to hear anything from this group other than You were on my mind. sounds like they were lip synching but one can never get enough of the great Bev Bivens.
