I got an 04 like in the vid, with CAI & headers, the torque makes it great to hit curves when you floor it, but it understeer a bit. As an everyday car its awesome, unexpensive and looks different of a civic (no hate). I'll get a G35 M6 before the next summer, even then I'll keep my spec-v. <3 Nissan
OMG 10 minutes is really slow jeremy clarkson manage 2 get a diesel jag in 9.59.Sabine Schmitz manage 2 get a ford transit around it at 10.08 u need more skill mate
Wow.... I'm waiting for the day that I can take my Spec out there and just drive! The "Ring" is like hollowed ground! Working on boosting my QR at the moment but some time down the road, I'd love to head back to Germany and hit up some type of open track day here.. Love the vid!! I'll probably watch this over and over again.
lets see here, 2006 honda civic si, acura rsx type-s, honda S2000, integra gsr, integra type-r, civic type-r......those are all 4 bangers that are faster than the sentra
Yeah, the torque-less armada of Honda performance cars lol. My sis has a DC5 Type S and let me tell how incredibly slow that car feels, if you don't rev above 5k. The Spec creates effortless torque from 2k rpm and up. Overall this makes it a much more enjoyable car to drive, especially in traffic. Not having to downshift to pass a car is priceless
And if you really want performance, just add a simple bolt on turbo @8psiand you'll be good for 275 whp, and you'll have more torque lol.
yea revving above 5800 rpm is much funner once you hit vtec to an 8100rpm redline unlike the sentra's 6000rpm redline, shit my moms van redlines higher than that.
Yeah because having a higher redline means your faster.
Specs don't need a high redline since they have all their power down low. We don't need VTEC, we have torque, something most Honda owners can't comprehend.
@FalloutProductions1 Revs to 6200, and you clearly have never driven a spec. my dad owns an 02 rsx-s and my best friend owns an 05 rsx-s and I own an 04 specv thats slightly modded and i hear them redlining their cars behind me to keep up whilst im driving normal and not even trying lol... Not to mention ive driven both their rsx-s's many of times before and they are fun cars to drive but yea they redline to 8100, but also check the MPH per 1K rpm's...
@FalloutProductions1 that's an opinion, not a fact. That's your own personal opinion, mazda rx-8 redlines at 10k Rpm's but it doesn't mean it's the most fun car to drive int he world because it redlines more then i-vtec hondas...
@FalloutProductions1 Haha once again you don't know what you're talking about. The latest generation RX-8 has a 1.3L engine with 212hp to the wheels, that comes with a 6 speed transmission which includes a 3-stage variable induction system (VIS.) Haha u da st00ped kiddo.
Would NEVER buy a used 02-04 if it has the stock pre-cat on it. These cars ARE known for the pre-cat falling apart. Little pieces get sucked back in the engine via inversion and ruin the rings which causes massive oil consumption eventually. Google pre-cat failure along and your first hit will be this POS engine.
u kno whats funny, i did, motor blew while i was stationd in germany, got repoed, got it back, new engine, car is a dream, bullshiet ass fuckin precat, POS, still a great car
I don't know about the GTI, but the Spec V was a fun and inexpensive car to own and operate. But, I think that the GTI is just as fast and nicer car on the inside. The Sentra is an inexpensive car and it doesn't hide that fact with its interior. You also have to make sure to keep an eye on the engine's oil level.
i got a 2003 Nissan sentra SER SPEC V aka BABY SKYLINE, and its so dam fast, have burned so many civic SI's i gop on curves very very fast, nice grip, love the car, mine is white..
dude, too bad u didnt kno the track well cus i can run u out ther, i got the same car 04 Spec V, mane ppl in Kaiserslautern scared to race my 4bang :D
I am more familiar with the track now, but actually driving on the ring is a different experience than what you get on the PS2 or XBox 360. I loved my Spec too much to drive it on the limit. I also don't have sponsors to fix my car if I had a accident. But I did go back to the ring in my 2004 G35 (video is also on YouTube).
yo u know what u should do wen u go on the track and race u should build a stand or buy one and connect to to the heads of the seat in the middle and hook the camera on so then wen u record its steady
i beg to differ with selamsize down there because no,nissan did not copy honda! first of the sentra has that awesome engine sound thanks to the secondary intake runners opening up,,i've never heard a honda do that,PLUS the SE-R and the specV have the stock 2.5 motors that squeeze out 170 hp and 180 pounds of torque!
It's one thing to race balls out in a computer game (where a misjudged turn only costs you time) than it is to do the same thing in real life, where you imagine your car wrecked and mangled on every corner. I know I could go faster, but you can't imagine how fast 10:49 feels on some of the straighter sections. And that "girl" is none other than Sabine Schmitt, who has the most Nurbergring track experience than anyone else. So you'll forgive me if I don't feel bad that she was faster than me.
yeah and that woman is the test pilot for this circuit...so its not hard to believe she was able to do that...this guy probably took a wrong turn and ended up hia :P
The exhaust starts with a Megan Racing header and then a Megan Racing cat-back exhaust. The setup was actually very good for power, but it was REALLY loud. Soon after I filmed this run I then spent another $600 on a quieter cat-back exhaust (by Apexi, which made noticeably less power but sounded a lot better) and a full 36 inches of resonation!
Not exactly. I think that it only has continuously variable intake timing. What you hear at about 5,000 RPM is the secondary intake path opening up (which allows twice as much air to enter the engine.)
Yes. The Sentra isn't sold overseas, but I'm in the Air Force so I was able to bring my Spec V to Germany. I now have a G35 (which I took video of and is also on this site.)
My brother have a ser spec-v 2006 and makes the same sound when your going about 5k rpms like vtec, what is that sound??
sorry for my ignorance!

Bang for buck the Spec-V is the best there is.
It isn't any lap record holder anywhere, but it's not trying to be. It's a great little piece of s*** mexican made car...
I have more respect for someone with a Spec than the fool who buys a Civic or a GTi.

for sure more respect to the spec v! i wish they showed the car in this video.

First of all maybe there was a misunderstanding but my golf is a gti. Which is 1.8t. "t" meaning turbo. So don't tell me it's normally aspirated

Yeah, the QR in the spec has another set of intake runners that open up at 5K. Thats were your getting the sound from.
