I cried for most of this film. It amazes me that they could make the little boy so realistic. The stuff he does and says and the way he cries when his igloo is smashed because it means something to him that others don't get. I was just like him when I was little. Not as wild but with the same imagination and introvert nature when I was by myself.

I started crying when Max and Carol hugged after carving the heart together. Knowing he finally had someone who understood him brought me to tears.

Sad but true, that at some point in our lives we'll experience a broken heart. When Carol smashes up his model, the pain of a broken heart is what I experienced. That's how powerful this film is, really for adults as it draws heavily on emotions. Sad and at the same time strangely uplifting, a classic for those in the know.
