  • I say we nuke the site from orbit. only way to be sure ~Ellen Ripley 2179

  • R.I.P james i will love you forever, you saved many men that day!

  • Don't forget that two of the American KIA were from the 10th Mountain.

  • One thing that I never really understood is why elite forces like Delta, the Rangers and the Nightstalkers were handling this operation. I mean, was this not somewhat beneath their capacity? If Navy Seals could storm the residence of America's top enemy, Bin Laden, and doing it illegally in a country that hadn't approved the operation, a very delicate job I thought normally would be a Delta assignment, why couldn't more conventional units deal with a petty criminal like Aidid?

  • @Faxe90Swe we should've just nuked the fuckers

  • The history of the United States proves that there will always be those who hate us for intervening in conflicts such as these, and still others who hate us when we turn a blind eye. Regardless, it is an ignorant man who blames the military, for it is YOU who elected the official who put us in harms way. Those enlisting in the military are putting their faith in the education of civilians, and will serve them whatever the call may be.

  • @listen2ccr people who discriminate war, and the soliders that fight them are fucking stupid, they dont undertsnad that it's not about killing or resources, it's about freedom and saving the lives of the people who deserve them, they just dont understand that it's not about hatred, its about the man next to you and that's it.

  • Freedom-hating, gay-baiting marines ALWAYS allude to their fondness for the rear-ends of brother-marines. Is it because they are intimately familiar with the comings & goings of one another? Truly, homosexuality began when a caveman proclaimed himself "drill instructor."

  • hey people war is brutal for all people and shouldn't be allowed to rule over people no matter who they choose to worship GOD.

  • That is one brillaint version .loved it

  • 1:51 lmao

  • @JimmyPSX please replace "our" with "my". i prefer not to be associated with you...pal. a good life does not mean money success or power. youll never be happy if thats all your looking for

  • Unfortunately only 30 US soldiers died, much much much more should'd gotten killed. How dare they invade my hometown, my city and the same city my ancestors build and fought for with their lives? Somalis are free men who will never accept aggression on our lands! Down with the American Crusade!

  • @SniperAce187

If you are actually a Somali, why would you support the massacre against your own people? Opposing American intervention is supporting the mass exterminations and slaughter they attempted to stop.. if you are more worried about the damage to your buildings and ego than the good of "your" people (Though you have a UK account) then as a white middle aged American living in Ohio, I'm still a better Somali than you.

  • @Robertz1986 , You are having a laugh! The savage naval and aerial bombardment in Mogadishu massacred thousands of civilians. America on purposely killed in 1 day 70 clan elders who wanted a come up with a solution that perhaps could'd end the civil war. Nothing is for free, If America cared about people, you would've helped the poor Afghans after the USSR left Afghanistan. The whole country was dying and in rubble! America just wanted Somalia for strategic interest ONLY. YOU are NO SOMALI!

  • @SniperAce187 If it makes you feel better about your situation you can tell yourself that. The rest of us will continue to live in the REAL world. I'll extend an invitation to you to join us here in reality at any time.

  • @TripolisUnited , I would feel a lot better if the US fucks off the politics of the Muslim world, I'm sure all the victims of American aggression would agree. Live where you want, it doesn't concern me nor do I care but do not cause aggression on foreign soil, simple as that. I'll invite you on how to help you come out of your "American dream" that will turn into a nightmare soon.

  • @SniperAce187 hahahahahahahahaha Naval and Air bombardment?! Are you on crack? The whole reason Mike Durant and the rest of his crew were essentially abandoned was because the State Department wanted to AVOID civilian casualties. Every one of those skinny bastards who got wasted via the US Special Forces deserved it in spades.

  • @Robertz1986 that was the most awesome comment ever, even though im 3 months late. lol

  • using one of our oldest and most precious to ennoble mass murder rae turture and pillage in iraq. enough.

  • @dcconsi Um this is somalia retard and its ours too or did you forget how many irish make up america.

  • @dcconsi

Americans borrowed this song from Ireland during the Civil War, after it was brought over by the large number of Irish troops in our military at the time, after which we added a verse of our own and it has remained one of our songs ever since. Also, this version of the song was made for "Black Hawk Down", a movie in which American forces intervened to try to stop the mass extermination of civilians by warlords in Somalia in the early 90's, and has nothing to do with "torture/murder"..

  • HOLY SHIT, I NOTICED SOME THING

At ):51 is that the guy from pearl harbour, the pilot?

  • @xJackWilshere19x lol, i noticed it the other way around, when i watched pearl harbor i noticed him from black hawk down. both movies came out in the same year

  • americans are such drama queens, they never do anything of importance and then act like they do too much lol.

  • @Holycani rofl.

world war 2? You can thank me for not having to learn german later (its hard!)

  • @Holycani Or hell, Russian for that matter lol. Forget the bear already?

  • @Holycani

Someone should have payed closer attention in history class.. what country influenced the last century more than America??

  • God bless the United States Rangers

  • It would be cool if they make BLACK HAWK DOWN 2 --- VOTE UP

  • @Zahir457 this movie was based on a true story, there probably won't be a sequel.

  • USA!!! RANGERS LEAD THE WAY!!!! HOAHH!!! GOD BLESS US IN AMERICA! and support our troops everyone in America!

  • ich spreche Deutch nicht so gern, aber du machst gut!

  • the french foreing legion all the way...they eat everyone for lunch!!..having said that I love Strummer and this song is absolutely fantastic.......RIP Joe

  • Who cares which military regiment team you are the objective to rescue people and fight back when ever which country in need and help those already who in hurt then are our brother in arm we fight together and aslute those fallen heroes that sacriface their lives for us and the countries i bless the soldier will LIVE LONG i salute u guyz with proud and honour!

  • Rangers, war, SAS, elite forces, blah blah bla!!! Joe Strummer is Genius!!!!!!! when the fuck did this turn into a military history forum??!!?!

  • @platinumat It's a battle song, written by Thomas Moore, commemorating the Irish Uprising of 1789.

  • @deaddoc It was also the New York Irish Brigade's song during the Civil War... NORTHSIDE!

  • Yep

  • Oh yeah and f*** France ...... cowards

  • @mcarp5595 In WW1, France was so cowardly that millions of them charged straight into machine gun fire, their generals believing that their courage would carry the day. And the soldiers kept going, until they finally refused. By then, an entire generation of French young men were gone. France has never recovered from it. I wonder how Americans would take millions of casualties? French ground has had more wars rage over it than anywhere else on earth Tried to check it...seems so.

  • All that matters is it was a heroic attempt to save our men all the BS about RAF or USAF doesnt matter I would do the same for all you guys.

  • @BorussenElf Grimes wasn't a Sgt. He was a Spec.

  • Das lied habe ich schon über all geschuch und nie gefunden das lied erinnert mich an meine kamaraden mit denn ich in irak war

  • This is the absolute worst rendition of this song I've ever heard. Joe Strummer ought be hanged for his crimes against music.

  • @daert1 He is already dead, dude. He died in 2002 of Congenital heart defect.

  • @NeilThe83 well, now I just feel like a jerk.

  • @daert1 lol!... Don't worry, man. Mistakes happen. Don't feel like a jerk b/c you ain't a jerk.

  • Actually in case anyone is interested this is a traditional Irish song, and was written by Thomas Moore after the 1798 rising in Ireland against English rule. The man wrote it more about the loss of friends rather than a pro war song!! The country it was written about has suffered more than 700 years of war and slaughter of innocents. So maybe people should think about that when commenting on the song!

  • Cooles Video!

aber 1 sache möchte ich Anmerken : 1:53 nicht Twombly wrd fast von einer Rakete getroffen sonder Grimes ( sogar 2x)

    sonst isse Klasse!

    daumen hoch!

  • Oh Dear, hahahahaha, it means MEDEVAC not MEDIPACK, hahahahaha I lought a lot boy!! MEDICAL EVACUATION

  • 1:41 is not twombly,. twombles had a saw and his googles were on the back of his hemlet. dont ask how i know that.

  • Joe Strummer's voice really adds something to this song....very heartfelt and earnest.

But that was the kind of guy Joe was.

  • RANGERS LEAD THE WAY!!!!!!! Glory to the 75th!

  • ALL THE WAY!!!!!!

  • @ultrajd HOO-AH

  • @dinosaco You a Ranger?

  • @ultrajd No but i wanna be a ranger and enter in the Delta Force.

    :)

  • @dinosaco Really, Well good luck to you. I wanted to try and get into Delta to. But my marksmanship skills most likely wouldnt have been up to snuff. (thought not having ever met a Delta operator I dont really know their standards) Still good luck to you.

  • @ultrajd Thanks sir.Im going to try get in Delta or the Air Force.

  • @dinosaco Well good luck man I hope you make it and stay alive bro.

  • @ultrajd Thanks bro.

  • @dinosaco No problem (Salutes)

  • @ultrajd Man i love this film!

  • @dinosaco Me to this movie is what inspired me to join the army.

  • @ultrajd The ministrel boy to the war has gone...For me this movie and Top Gun inspired my to be a military.I'm only 15, but when I complet 18 I will be in the Air Force!!!

  • @dinosaco Ah so your going to be a flyboy huh. I wanted to join the navy and fly like my granddad but I was to tall. So it was off the the Army.

  • @ultrajd Hell yeah ultrajd, be a flyboy is my dream!!!

  • @dinosaco Then good luck man fallow that dream as long as you can. (Salutes)

  • @ultrajd Thanks man,I'll do what you said

  • @dinosaco BTW man, the USAF is not accepting anyone anymore officers or enlisted, same with CG, navy is thinking about doing the same for enlisted were almost filled to capacity, so soon all that will be left is the corps, and the army, but keep up with that dream, if u wanna be a true fighter pilot now a-days though go navy.

  • @fox4pb Best fighter pilots are Marine Corps. Navy's good I'll grant, but Marines are the best at close air support. And frankly, whose up there to dog fight anymore?

  • @Khan004 stop talking shite the raf are t best i was in the first gulf war and all t yanks did was high altitude bombing and shooting the brits the raf did all the low level flying throughout t campaign

  • @828sim We were discussing the differences in US military aviation. Frankly I don't remember hearing of any successful British air campaign since America invented the air plane.

  • @Khan004 but the absolute best ground force are the us army rangers

  • @BESTHALO3 If you say so.

  • @BESTHALO3 Not to say Rangers aren't elite, but they don't come close to Special Forces, specifically SFOD-D

  • @BESTHALO3 I would say the SAS are the best

    LOL at Khan004's comments xD

  • @fox4pb ops i didn't notice that :S

But I can go to RAF too, but I hope that when I make 18 the navy dont do what USAF did and accept me :)

  • @ultrajd All the way!

  • @wackjob08 Hoo-ah!

  • @ultrajd AIRBORNE! ALWAYS KEEP YOUR SCROLL TO THE ROAD!

  • anyway, as you can see in the video subtitles some of us (Europeans ;-) germans highly appreciate the work you do in Iraq or in the numerous battlefields anywhere else.... thanks and good luck to all soldiers out there!

  • @flo160 All u bleeding heart krauts, frogs n limey's should be more concerned about the fact that your towns and cities are all occupied by millions of bloodthirsty moons who in 30-40 yrs will give you all the same treatment they gave the christian Greeks Armenians and Assyrians back in 1915-21.Do you think those saudia arab ass kissing evil bluebelly devils in DC will come to your rescue when the moons start butchering you ?The arabs own DC, read Robert Baers Sleeping with the devil

  • @Humanrito

Wish you bad luck, yes go step on a land mind. =)

  • @emarine Go fuck yourself you ungrateful brat.

  • @Humanrito You are the invader, therefore you may deserve to die.

  • @Humanrito My prayers are with you, lad! You'll be in good company!

  • Bjornjoseph, standard Marines are just the infantry for the Navy and always will be. They are only "elite" at running their mouths.

  • not sure if any of u read the book or actually followed what happened in mogadishu... but when the Marines were there there was no shit going on... they respected the Marines out of fear... after they pulled out and the babysitters ( US Army... Delta.. Rangers) came in thats when they declared war on the remaining peacekeepers..

  • @bjornjoseph

You are an idiot with no real military experience.

  • @jakemonster001 listen buddy.. everything i commented on is fact... dont belive me go read the book or go read it on wikipedia... if you dont know wut the fuk your talkin about dont comment... your prob one of those dudes with flat feet or some mental idiot that couldnt get in the service so he plays battlefield and modern warfare and thinks they know all..

  • @bjornjoseph

What you said is not true, you weren't there. Yes, moron b/c wikipedia is a better source than first hand knowledge. BTW, what's your MOS? 68M or 42L? hahaha Great English also retard! Read a book? Take an English class! haha

  • @bjornjoseph

    Internet tough guy! ;)

  • @jakemonster001 lol your an idiot.. 0311 basic rifleman... ive seen more shit than you did prob.. like i said you probably never even served...go play modern warfare 2...

  • while the irish speak english and have a common law legal system ( both forced on the irish), they are in cultural terms poles apart.

  • ahh this is a scottish band oh ye god bless scotland and britain

  • actuly this is the irish pipe band :/

  • I am presuming that at least some of you in the US are aware of what an enormous military defeat Somalia was? In my opinion as an ex-officer in the British Army, typical of all US Military Operations - under the pretence of "doing the right thing", invade, occupy and kill hundreds of civilians claiming they were hostiles! Don't get me wrong, some US Soliders are very skilled - let's just hope the poor leadership doesn't make these mistakes again...!

  • Comment removed

  • What a completely biased, uniformed and frankly cliche comment, as a representative of her majesty's forces you really should know better. Honestly, if you're gonna claim to be an ex officer get yourself informed and make an intelligent assement and comment on the situation. Somalia was a UN sanctioned peace keeping operation involing 35 countries including the UK. It was a political disaster but in no way a military defeat

  • But it wasn't a victory, was it?

The fact that Somalia is still as it is today is proof that US and UN ultimately failed to achieve their objectives. Thus, it is perfectly rational to call it a defeat.

  • @DefconBravo

The defeat sits squarely at the feet of the administration in power at that time.

  • agreed... I will never go against a fellow service member... wars... are fought by men in suits and ties thousands of miles away...

  • @neptunenx01 A U.S. Naval Task Force with a Marine Expeditionary Unit had stabilized the Somalia situation. The situation did not unravel until the MEU and Naval Task Force departed, turning peacekeeping duties over to the UN.

Agree that it was a major U.S. planning mistake to deploy the Rangers without backup standing by.

The situation would probably have best been handled by deploying a MEU/SEAL Spec Ops team, as USMC/Navy air/gun/infantry backup is inherent in their deployment.

  • @glnelson1956

They had the best guys in the world there - better than MEU. Frankly, you don't get any better than SAS, Israeli counter-terrorist, and Delta. Sensing a little Marine prejudice there. ;) And there was SEALs there. What should have happened was this should have went down at night, they should have had backup and armored vehicles, and should have had a presidential administration that didn't tie their hands. Like the Naval Task Force had in the beginning with George HW Bush.

  • @jakemonster001 Agree that USA Rangers are excellent soldiers; my comment was not meant to indicate otherwise.

However they are not an integrated Air/Land/Sea team as is the USMC.

A Ranger unit deployed solo, lacking prearranged USAF/USN backup is in serious trouble when the plan unravels, as the Somalia incident clearly proves.

A USMC/SOC team inserted in the same manner has inherent USMC/USN air support, USMC infantry backup and USN gunfire support. Pre-planning not necessary.

  • Cont:

Many in Spec Ops command, particularly SEALS, recognized that the USMC Air/Land/Sea ability was ideal for Spec Ops missions, and wanted USMC participation in Spec Ops.

Until 2006, USMC Commandants long resisted Sec Ops requests for USMC participation, as the USMC traditionally trusts only the Air/Land/Sea self-reliance inherent in the USN / USMC partnership.

The 2006 arrangement allows the Commandant to recall any USMC unit from Spec Ops attachment when needed for USMC missions.

  • Sorry, thought your were Marine biased! ;) But see even the USMC/SOC are subject to the whims of a liberal president who does not want our military to look "overly aggressive." Ask some of those guys what's going on now with our current CNC. If they were in on the scene with Clinton I'd bet you good money he would hinder their operation wither or not they did things with Naval air, gun support and Marine infantry on deck. Ultimately, operations are done with politicians giving orders.

  • Cont:

And of course SEALs would like to work with Marines but that doesn't mean there the best! SEALs are great at what they do, waterborne ops. Sure they are cross trained in other mission types but Deltas are the best in our arsenal at the job that was needed to be done. Again, SEALs were there, just as PJs were. I understand you looking at things from a Naval perspective but Army was on the ground.

  • Cont.

They had the best guys for the job and will always have the most men, best equipment and best weapon systems. Also, I understand what you are saying about the Navy doing ops with all the inherent backup but a shitty politician will throw a wrench in the works every time. Good leaders let the military handle the job on there own I don't think Clinton would've kept his nose out of it just b/c a different branch was doing to op.

  • Cont.

Remember originally the op was supposed to kickoff with Airforce close air support and armored vehicles (Abrams and Bradleys) and Clinton nixed it like I said he stated it looked too aggressive.

  • so where is the perfect balance... limberal prez on one end... then warmonger(bush) on the other...

  • @bjornjoseph

    Moron... hahaha

  • sir i give u a thumbs up!

  • see thats the thing... yea marines got force recon but all those spec ops guys r on the same lvl as good ole marine infantry... its just that the spec op guys get the fun missions. when u need shit done u call the marines..

  • @bjornjoseph

Again, you are an idiot if you think regular Marines are up to the level of those men in the special ops community. Marines would disagree with you.

  • @jakemonster001 There really isn't a "best" military unit. There are only units trained best for specific applications. If a SEAL, SAS, DELTA etc. Spec Ops team were dropped into a situation best handled by the 82nd Airborne, the Spec Ops team would likely be quickly eliminated and of no consequence to the outcome.

Spec Ops guys aren't supermen, just soldiers trained for special covert missions.

"Superman" exists only in the imagination of comic book authors. He ain't real.

  • @glnelson1956 No, I know it depends on the application and the specialties. We agree. But I said that the best men were there for "that op." And I know completely what you are saying about Spec Ops. I come from a family filled with tyhem. :)

  • @glnelson1956 Besides it's bjornjoseph who's saying a Marine right out of Basic is the most elite warfighter! hahaha

  • @jakemonster001 Marines out of 12 weeks of Boot Camp are only partially trained. All Marines then attend 8 weeks of combat infantry training before reporting to primary MOS training.

All MEU's preparing for deployment detach one company for further SOC (Spec Ops Capable) training before deployment.

A USMC MEU/SOC has the broadest capability in any environment. Three MEU's are always afloat for instant deployment anywhere worldwide. "Elite" training would severely limit that versatility.

  • Comment removed

  • @glnelson1956 Again, I was agreeing with you. I was disagreeing with bjornjoseph who said "when you need shit done you call the Marines" and they would have fought the Somalis better than the Rangers/Detachment Delta/Night Stalkers/PJs/SEALs. I was informing him he was incorrect (and getting in a few digs :) and that the Marines like you said are really no better than anyone in the Army.

  • @jakemonster001 The Rangers handled themselves well in Somalia. The poor planning of the situation was not the fault of the soldier on the ground, but of the command that put him there.

I'll have to disagree on your take on the USMC in the same situation. The USMC deploys with its own air force, and its own navy, unlike any other infantry in the world, making the USMC self-reliant and able to handle a majority of tactical problems on its own. Being an expeditionary force requires that.

  • @glnelson1956 And I have to disagree again. Clinton would not have allowed them to deploy their own air force and their own navy. He would have hindered them the same way he hindered the Army.

  • jakemonster001, the USMC always deploys with its own Air Wing and the "Gator" Navy part of the USN. It is inherent in force make-up. Again, this is why the USMC infantry concept is unique in the world. The concept dates from 1920's era Central American USMC deployments.

Read "MARINE" by Tom Clancy; the unique structure of a MEU is explained in detail.

An MEU hidden "over the horizon" could have supported the Rangers with firepower, and could have extracted them with minimal casualties.

  • @glnelson1956 And again, the CNC ALWAYS has the final say so. It doesn't matter what is inherent, or how any group is structured. The president CAN tell the Generals/Admirals how something can will be done. I understand the history and I know what happened in Nicaragua. But you have to understand dumb presidents will stick their big noses in.

  • @glnelson1956 cont. And if Clinton would have left his big nose out in 1993 Delta/Rangers would have had Armor/Infantry/air support during a night mission! (The Night Stalkers are the best in the world at night ops - it's their bread and butter) They would have accomplished the mission as well or better than an MEU.

  • @jakemonster001 The USMC will primarily be sent into situations that have many unknown elements to contend with, as the USMC is by design and training intended to have a broad versatility, across many terrains and environments.

Example: USMC secured areas and set up initial Afghanistan bases. The USA was not capable of doing so in the short time frame needed. USMC secured Fallujah simply because the USA was not trained at the time in such large scale urban combat ops.

  • @glnelson1956 And SF is their BEFORE the marines. My own brother was. As a SF operator he is a force multiplier. The Marines would not have been able to do anything unless SF and CIA were not in the area FIRST. The MEU can't do everything. ;)

  • Cool bei 2:00 min kommt die Bundeswehr mit Wölfen :D Wahnsinnsding ^^

  • tis an irish song written by an irish patriot for his fallen friends in the 1798 Rebellion ... I pass by the unmarked graves of some of these immortal irish rebels everyday.... the song is the sole preserve of those irish rebels...........

  • Go Eirie!!

  • I salute all americans who served there country in the military and the 19 americans who did at the hands of the somalis in mogadishu, and all americans fighting in the middleeast you are true, pure americans

  • thank you it actually means alot

    thank you

  • I love this song and have done for years. I used to sing it to the boys in our armoured carrier when on patrol. I am a bad singer but they kept requesting it. and I mean a bad singer. :-)

  • @stuntmonkey16 Did I slap you lol

  • @stuntmonkey16 you in the american or british army?

  • old Irish song

  • a moment of silence for the fallen!

  • Just to say merry Christmas to the Lions and their families who may come to this site.

  • respeckt steckt bestimmt viel arbeit drin !

    5*

  • 1:25 thats PFC (private first class) Blackbird you know if you saw the movie he falls in mid rapple.

  • @slientmarksman Its actally PFG Blackburn not bird ;)

  • it sounds the same to me and if you say it it sounds correct

  • Hes (and the others) name is actually mentioned in the credits at the end of the movie.

And i read the book too :)

  • There's always a dark political reason!!! oil, money, land, or just simply war...the US govern was supported so many dictators.....those who pay are the soldiers who died for nothing and the so called "collateral damage".... PEACE AND RESPECT!!!

  • I have only one question. I'm Canadian and live next door to the U.S. The U.S. may not be perfect but wouldn't you rather have a World where at least SOMEone stands up and tries to help in these wretched world situations. NO dark political objective other than to help starving people.

  • No dark political objective? You're joking - look at the dictators it's supported:

Pinochet (Chile), Videla (argentina), Suharto (Indonesia), Khomeini (CIA payroll, 1970s), Banzer (Bolivia), Savimbi/UNITA (Angola), Mobutu (Zaire), House of Saud (Saudi Arabia), Trujillo (Domican republic), Batista (Cuba, prior to Castro), Kamirov (Uzbekistan), Taliban (Afghanistan) Saddam Hussein (Iraq).

Whilst I generally like Americans, I'm afraid US foreign policy benefits no-one - not even Americans.

  • Just like sweden is the world consiousness so is america the world police!

  • If Sweden really were the world's consciousness, America _wouldn't_ be its police.

  • Why not? U.S.A is the most powerful nation on earth it´s armies are encamped all over the globe!

And have you seen this movie the best movie based on actual events since the "Platoon" though Platoon is more a retelling of the war memories of the movie-producer(i think at least!

But back to American might USA at least gets SOME job done unlike the UN who are so completley toothless mainly bechause the security-counsel´s 5 permanent seats(The nuclear club)

  • Great. Someone who can't tell Hollywood from real life.

There is a very straightforward principle in recruitment that the worst people to employ are those who are both industrious and stupid - they are determined to do something, but are don't think enough to do the right thing or to do it properly. America, for years, has been the international equivalent.

See my previous list; Who armed Saddam and Bin Laden? who supported Ayatollah Khomeini? The USA - and our current mess is the result.

  • All too true! Hey i did´nt say i liked the yanks!

And these movies where BASED on actual events not representing them! I do know the difference between hollywood and real life(i usually check the background story before i see a movie with a possible historical meaning!)

  • I can´t remember the guy´s name who made the platoon but i do know that he served in vietnam and like many(or most) veterans of that screw-up

he came home with a lot off scars mostly psychological and wanted to tell a story based on what he himself experienced!

  • i would tend to say ''the USA governement'' instead of just the USA... some of it's members did get elected though so i don't know how much of a difference it makes in the long run.

  • I suspect you are a Democrate and probable Ivy League

  • @Labsnark Uh, you do realize that we did not "arm" Saddam or Bin Laden, right? Saddam's armaments were accounted for by some Swedish left group, basically, US armament accounted for like 1 percent or less of the total. Soviet Union/Russian, Chinese and various European comprised the entirety of his armament. We didn't support Khomeini--well, except Carter being stupid and taking away support from the Shah. Most of those in Afghan. ended up being Northern Alliance not Taliban or AQ.

  • I quote Howard Teicher (a former NSC director) who went with Rumsfeld to Iraq in '83:

"The US ACTIVELY supported Iraq...by supplying [...] BILLIONS of $ of credits, by providing U.S. military intelligence & advice[...] by closely monitoring 3rd country arms sales to [...] make sure that Iraq had the military weaponry required. [...] The CIA[....]knew of, approved of, and ASSISTED in the sale of non-U.S. origin military weapons, ammunition and vehicles to Iraq."

so, not the USA's fault then..

  • @Labsnark silly democrat, lies are for retards

  • @ckn117 Not surprisingly, you mis-spelled the word 'Rebublican' at the end of the sentence there.
