Forgive me father for I have sinned. I have been unfaithful to my fovorite musicians! For some reason, now unfathomable to me, I rejected this and ELAHE (even worse) when they were released! I LOVED Elemental and Raoul, but for the last 10 years I must have suffered from temporary insanity or something. After seeing them live twice in the last year, I've finally come around and am now discovering all I missed out on. The beauty of this song practically brought me (stoic extraordinaire) to tears!
Thank you for uploading this song. the rather sedate and nostalgic taste of this melody seems to melt the listener's hearts... & the lovely editing of the video.
Yes, thank you very much, I agree with you! :) Did you also cry when you first listened to it? I almost did too. I think it's not that we are too sentimental, but rather that Roland's voice is so soulful to get us emotional :)
Sorry guys for crowding this page with chatting between TheSund and Butterfly. We were having trouble with emailing. It has been resolved so now let's get back to commenting about this wonderful song and video posted by our beloved Nourset.
Rowing the same boat. are we? Hey, have you seen "All About Roland" part 1 to 8 yet? Zeldaartist posted them a few days ago. Run and watch it... tell me later :-)
Superb musician. I have no idea how this happened but I lost track of his work, missed Tomcats and Saturnine... two masterpiece albums, indeed. Hope RO keeps doing his solo work... I mean, I love ELAHE but he is exceptional by himself. Free to fly. I wish he appreciated his fans a bit more.
I guess my reply didn't go through the first time. I didn't say that for one specific reason. It is my feeling from bits and pieces of what he has said in interviews. I mean he seems to be a very special person in a good way but he wants to keep an "icebergian" distance from fans that seems incongruous with fame. I hope I am wrong.
You know,I used to think he was a bit snobbish. But I've become to realize hes very private and not comfortable with his celebrity. I also think hes very serious and intense. Whatever he is, hes sexy!
NY!!! Flying west soon... called the hotel yesterday. I got the Tears For Fears package from Green Valley Ranch, which includes one night stay and two tickets. Two friends are coming so we had to buy an extra one... hubby not allowed :D I think I won't be able to sleep until then. See Roland again 16 years later... aaaahhhh!
Lucky you! I was wondering about you! So when do you come this way? I live in Colorado but i still won't be able to go.The Nevada concert you're attending is still like 800 miles from here.
It was great talking to you on the phone today. I sent you an email to wish you luck but it bounced back. I think I wrote it down incorrectly. Try to send me one to each of those addresses so to make sure we got it right.
met roland last year; don't believe he likes meeting his fans; was pleasant enough, but just not interested ... it is what it is and his talent is undeniable ... i'm takin the good w the bad ...
@thedaisy1963 I agree. I saw him last summer and he really seemed bitter about doing the small venue, and made some other smart remark about nobody listening/buying the new material. Curt on the other hand was wonderful. He laughed and talked to the crowd and thanked everyone for coming to see them. I like his music, buy my opinion on Roland changed. I think he had alot to due with curt leaving years ago.
@chumchaser I think Roland is very shy and humble at heart & has been since TFF was formed. From what I can see it took Roland quite awhile to step out from behind Curt's shadow to be the lead singer of his OWN songs, which Curt was singing. But Roland stepped into the light on Seeds of Love. Then they broke up & Roland was forced to put himself out there in the 90s. I am so glad Roland did because we would never have had the incredible music from Elemental, Raoul or Tomcats if he hadn't.
I lost track of Roland after Raoul and the Kings of Spain so never heard of Tomcats until now. Jesus, typically brilliant song by Roland. Quality keeps coming, what a spectacular artist.
you can watch this video on dailymotion , my pseudo is whokillednourset and search TFFinterview 2005, this video was too much long for youtube and you'll find others interesting things not here.... let me know...
I agree that "Tomcats" is the best of Roland. It's Roland in his truest form. I know that the chanting in "Hypnoculture" is a bit much but like kittiebaby4 said, his voice is so beautiful. I think he was experimenting and I think it took a lot of guts to put that on the album. Plus the music is just incredible! I listen to that cd in full at least once a week. BTW, great job as usual nourset!
"Tomcats" is for me the best CD, every song is perfect....except one: "hypnoculture" that I never liked... It would be better if Roland changed this song with "Cold Planet" which is a masterpiece...it's only what I think....let me know what you're thinking about this :)
Just got "Tomcats" yesterday, haven't listened to all of it yet.I like Cold Planet and Deep Seeded Blindness though. What does "unrealised tracks" mean? Where can we get these songs? Can we?
Im sorry, but what songs are you talking about?? "Cold Planet" and "Deep Seeded Blindness"??? Where/what are these songs?? Not on the Tomcats that I have. ?????
I don't know just how this goes but I think Nourset had them and they got out without Rolands permission or something and he didn't think they were good enough so someone asked the person who posted them would they please take them off of youtube. They were good though, very good.
I agree about hypnoculture.I don't like the chanting too much but Rolands voice is very sweet in this one.I like this cd alot.I think I like "maybe our days are numbered" best, but "Cain" is very good too. Roland can't do anything bad.
Wow! You have got some great rare videos. Really wonderful stuff. Good song as well from the amazing 'Tomcats Screaming Outside' album. I am looking forward to watching more of your rare videos.
This album really showcased how beautiful Roland's voice is!

surprising for him - his 'kings of spain' album was like George Lucas' Star Wars Episode 1. When you have no challenges, the work goes 'too far'.
