  • Hi - no it's not a characteristic of HD as such, but it can be a problem when you edit the clips and then compress/re-compress for upload to YouTube. The reason is that it's been shot in the European 25fps HD mode, whereas YouTube is by default 30fps. That means that when YouTube compresses the incoming file to Adobe Flash it also converts the frame rate from 25fps to 30fps, and that's what can produce the judder.

  • Hi I love Spain & have an interest in DV editing & camcorders, I use Adobe CS4 & considering a HD camcorder the Panasonic TM300. I love your video on Benalmadena well done, but I have a question. Some of the movement, for example the brown boat sailing in the harbour at the 56 second mark doesn't look smooth it judders along rather than a smooth progression across the screen. Is this typical of HD video or is it a result of having to compress the video to download to YouTube. Many tks Shay
