Sir graves was one of the highlights of my childhood. He and Bill kennedy at the movies. Sat in front of tv as kids and wanted in pajamas. was always a great time.
Sir Graves Ghastly was great! I saw him once when he did an appearance in Bladensburg MD. to promote his Washington DC show. He arrived in a hearse and was carried on stage in a coffin. Ad a 12 yr.old monster kid, this was just so cool to see. Get rid of the infomercials! We need shows like his on tv again...
I sent him a drawing, and it blew me away he pulled it off his board and held it up to the camera and gave a big evil laugh "booahahaha!!!!" was a big thrill for me as a 10 yr old... none of my fam believed me when they got home
So do you agree that this guy is drunk in this video? Doesn't anyone else see that. He can't even recall the great Lawson J Deming's name. If I were making a tribute video to someone, you can be sure that I would get his name right. Instead, he refers to him as Lawrence. He is disoriented and distracted in most of the video and loses his train of thought. Sorry if that offends anybody, but I didn't post the video. If I did, I would have had more respect for Lawson Deming aka Sir Graves Ghastly.
Lawson J. Deming also did booth-announcing work from time to time at WJBK's sister station, WJW/WJKW-TV in Cleveland, OH (both then owned by Storer), in the mid-to-late 1970's, contemporaneous with his "Sir Graves Ghastly" run. His voice, from what I've heard, reminded me somewhat of New York CBS staff announcer Pat Connell.
His name was Lawson, not Lawrence you drunk bastard. Maybe next time you will wait til after the program to dip into the sauce, that way you would have made a more respectful and fitting tribute.

A vampire picture that I drew as an 8 year old made it onto his gallery, which as you know was in his lugubrious mausoleum of terror.
