  • if i went around saying i was an emporer just becuase some moistened bink lobbed a scimitar at methey'd put me away i lol everyi hear that line

  • well, i didn't vote for you :)

  • it would be cool to be an autonomous collective

  • I like how you put your own production logo at the start of this video. I was not aware you produced Monty Python.

  • Hahaha..... "moistened bint"

  • farcical aquatic ceremony! priceless

  • LOL is the lady really a lady?

  • @OyeMiVoz Seeing as how this is Python we're talking about, probably not?

  • That peasant reminds me of my brother in the way that he NEVER shuts up

  • HAHAHAHAHHAHAH LMAO! big meaning...funny shit xD

  • 60 people live in a dictatorship

  • he is the 99%

    fail

  • No Gods, No Masters. Anarchism is Civilization.

  • Strange women lying in ponds, distributing swords is no basis for a system of government. Supreme executive power, derives from a mandate from the masses!

  • @MrBurnin420 Not from some farcical aquatic ceremony!

  • @PalerLaze You can't expect to wield supreme executive power, just because some watery tart threw a sword at you.

  • Listen. Strange women lyin' in ponds distributin' swords is no basis for a system of government.

  • 58 peasants watched this video.

  • you know thats not actually a far off explanation of 1 why we have democracy (with the founding fathers) and 2 how it works

  • The arrow to the knee jokes really bug alot of people :/

  • @Flapswitch13 They used to bug me till I took an arrow to the knee.

  • I used to be a repressed anarcho-syndicalistic peasant too... then I took an arrow to the knee.

  • I hate it when the top comment is a complaint about the top comments

  • It appears that Skyrimmers aspire to be the new Rickrollers/Trolololololers -.- The bloody peasants.

  • i used to a Annoying Peasant but then i took a arrow to the knee

  • I used to gather filth too. Then I took an arrow to the knee.

  • boy I do hate to make comments like this but I'm genuinely curious..

Thumbs up if you are an IRL anarcho-syndicalist.

  • lol. is the horsy thing because of liquor laws, prohibition?

  • *bursts out laughing* I like it, his someone that doesn't shut up but actually IS smart.

"Strange women laying in ponds distributing swords is no basis for a system of government, supreme executive power derives from a mandate from the masses" LoL yes.

  • @Linase ""Strange women laying in ponds distributing swords is no basis for a system of government, supreme executive power derives from a mandate from the masses" LoL yes."

The PROBLEM is when the masses actually ACCEPT that a "moistened bint lobbing a scimitar" actually DOES grant supreme executive power. Which humans did the equivalent of for generations by equating their wealthy Leaders as being appointed by God in elaborate ceremonies conducted by the Church.

  • Did anyone else find this video while searching "Anarcho-syndicalism" on google?

  • Damn! Hipsters were around even back then!

  • Medievial truthers, lol. Camelot was an inside job! Stop the crucade in Palestine!

  • @Quex01 I disagree with the decision to form any country based on religion (Israel/Pakistan) but your notion of Crusades is typically blinkered. Muslim Crusades of the Rashidum Caliphate colonised Palestine in 635 but when the Umayyad Caliphate moved 2 conquer Europe the Pope united Europe's small politically non-aligned states behind a common bond - Christianity. After Poitiers (معركة بلاط الشهداء‎ ) in 732, Euro armies gradually went from defence to offense = The Crusades. Cause & Effect.

  • "Oh, Dennis, there's lovely filth over here!" xD

  • "This scene features a Annoying Peasant that seems to know alot more about goverment than he should. SHUT UP! SHUP UP!!! BLOODY PEASENT!"

    the OP is a moron.

The peasant isn't annoying he's actually intelligent and speaking truth. Secondly, knowing a lot about the government should be encouraged not thought of as annoying. Thanks OP for being the dumb peasant that allows the kings to crown themselves based on farcical aquatic ceremonies. metaphorically speaking.

  • @bryantm6 "The peasant isn't annoying" Yes, he is.

  • @bryantm6 Self-righteous much? Chill out, smoke a joint, stop being a moron.

  • I want to join a narco-syndaclyst commune.

  • @reepicheep3 an anarco..

  • Who are the B'itons??....XD

  • The myth of King Arthur totally exposed for what it is. Brilliant stuff.

  • its kinda freaky when monty python makes sense

  • HELP! HELP! I'M BEING REPRESSED!

  • @jeffw2294 I tried to flag your comment to make it more appropriate but I guess it doesn't work as well anymore...

  • this movies the best

  • lol this is what happens when anarchy gets mixed up with a knight-tale :P

  • HAHAHAHAHAHA!!! Hilarious!

  • i bet he gets tired galoping...

  • Next time you're pulled over for speeding, shout

"Come and see the violence inherent in the system! Help, help, I'm being repressed!"

  • I'd like to live in an anarcho-syndicalist commune.

  • @TanoBrati You should. It's a truly amazing experience (no sarcasm).

  • oh another one who majored in political science

  • @TheOriginal3P You know there is another choice between anarcho-socialism and an all powerful state. Besides the peasant is only partly wrong. Much of what he's saying is dead on. Check out Rothbard and other free-market anarchists.

  • I was just listening to a Sheldon Richman lecture where he called this, "The greatest piece political philosophy on film," and I have to say I agree whole heartedly. I can hardly express how much this scene has influenced my own libertarianism and eventual anarchism.

  • @kingcherub

Funny, because the sketch is making fun of people like the peasant.

  • @Eivyll I don't completely agree...otherwise you'd have to believe the Monty Python guys think that "strange women lying in ponds distributing swords," is actually a legitimate basis for government. I think they're making sport of both, but like I said, I only partly agree with the peasant...I'm a free-market anarchist not a sydicalist.

  • @kingcherub lol "a free-market anarchist" hahahahahHHAHAAHA

  • @mistarcraw Wow, great argument bro...Would you like to have a conversation, or are you just a condescending prick?

  • @kingcherub hahahah yeah i'm going to argue with some guy that literally cited a moron racist in defense of his idea of neo-feudalism. uh huh. all i got to say to you is read david graeber or something. lord

  • @mistarcraw Condescending prick it is.

  • @mistarcraw I didn't read the argument but by citing David Graeber you sir are the victor.

  • The best part of this scene is trying to understand what the peasants are talking about.

  • LOL, I love your description.

  • "strange women lying in ponds, distributing swords, is no basis for a system of government"

    lol!

  • HAHAHA! this is a great parody of todays OWS :)

  • "Help Help I'm being Repressed!" I finally made the tie to Warcraft. Learn something new everyday.

  • There's some lovely Filth down here

  • "I AM KING!" . . Oh King, very nice and how did you get that, Ay? . . By exploiting the workers! . . By hangin-on to our out-dated Imperialist Dogma which perpetuates the Economic and Social differences in our society! . . If there's ever going to be any progress . . "DENNIS? . . There's some lovely Filth down here. . "

  • Comment removed

  • hahaha vote for king thats a new one haha

  • Well of course they have economic problems. Their entire economy is based on gathering filth and digging random holes in the ground.

  • @KrazyKommieKiller sounds like minecraft

  • @KrazyKommieKiller MINECRAFT! >:]

  • Haha!

  • classic brit comedy

  • god i love this. patsy's such a looker.

  • They left out my fav. The part where he says "he must be a king, he's not covered in shit."

  • @TheOriginal3P= I'd rather just live in the wilderness with the wild animals. Wait, the bears, mountain lions, and wolves are more tane then those commune assclowns.

  • @TheOriginal3P 6 of 1, half a dozen... what's the diff?

  • @TheOriginal3P *reloads M16*

  • This reminds me of ocuppy wall street... Sadly the occutards are in no way as articulate.

  • Anarcho-syndacalism!

  • I didn't know we had a king . . I thought we were an Autonomous-Collective . . "Your fooling yourself, we're living in a dictatorship, a self-perpetuating Autocracy, in which the working-classes" . . there you go, bringing Class into-it again . .

  • You don't vote for kings ahahahahah

  • So THIS is where the Occupy Movement began!

  • hahaha yes!!!! i did this as a short play for my drama class!

  • I hate it when the top comment is just a line from the video.

I hate it more when both of the top comments are just lines from the video.

I HATE IT EVEN MORE WHEN BOTH LINES ARE EXACTLY THE SAME.

  • @Tangobomber

but we are watching it because we like lines from the video...

  • "Look, if I went around saying that I was emperor, just because some moistened bint lobbed a scimitar at me, they'd lock me away!" "BE QUIET!!!" LOLZ!!!

  • 'you can't expect to wield supreme executive power, just cus some watery tart threw a sword at you!' XD

  • anybody know what the music is at the beginning?

  • "I'm 37."

    "What?"

    "I'm 37, I'm not old."

Well, to be fair, given life expectancies in those days, that WAS old.

  • 56 people were repressed

  • Listen, strange women, laying in ponds, distributing swords is no basis for a system of Government! LOL

  • I find this very easy to mastrubate to

  • at least we were committed, it wasn't just a string of pussy jokes

  • "i dont vote for you" lol?

  • He reminds me of my Global/History teacher in high school.

  • HELP! HELP! The two top comments are the same!

  • Poli-Sci major, apparently?

  • 56 people saw the violence inherent in the system.

  • That peasant is one of the 99%!

  • @451ianDragonist Occupy Camelot!

  • I'm 37, I'm not old.

  • You can't expect to wield supreme executive power, just because some watery tart threw a sword at you!

  • Yes Indeed...Every Corrupt YELLOW DOG UNION mish-mash in Canada is being woefully oppressed. They are most grievously to be pittyed... They are making money hand over fist selling services which used to be public and developed under our auspices...

  • I love it when the top two comments are exactly the same:

[insert witty quote from video here]

  • listen, strange woman lieing in ponds distributing swords is no basis for a system of government!

  • BLOODY PEASANT, HELP HELP im being repressed

  • Awesome

  • At 2:49 . . . But, if I went around saying, "I was an Emperor" just because some Moistened-Bitch lobbed a Scimitar at me, they'd put me away . . Shut-up! . . Ah! . . Now we see the Violence Inherent in the System!

  • @Diogenes1360 Moistened bint actually, there wasn't really much swearing at all in the monty python sketches

  • @Brendan9895 Thanks, you are correct! I Looked-up "bint" and it a british term for a woman or a girl . .

  • At 2:32 . . . Listen! . . Strange Women lying in ponds of water . . distributing swords, is no-basis for a system of government. Supreme Executive Power derives from the masses, not from some Faustical Aquatic Ceremony. . Be Quiet! . . You can't expect to wield Supreme Executive Power, just cause some Watery-Tart threw a sword at you! . . .

  • I seen the way he was repressing him

  • Dennis the Peasent = OWS

  • Warcraft III uses a lot of phrases and puns from Monty Python and the Holy grail. Such as "You're the king!? Well I didn't vote fer ye!". Lol Classic!

  • Occupy mudhole!

  • @S4uce1 World Class Mudhole - World Class Filth

  • 56 people are communists

  • @sybolicious On the contrary, the 5,885 people who liked this (assuming they agree with the peasants' anarcho-syndicalist message) would probably favour orthodox marxism over the current system. Calling someone a communist is not an insult.

  • @typenamehere19 communism is trash. anybody thats believes that everybody will work together happily and the government wont ever be corrupt and abuse the people is off their rocker.

    history proves other wise.

  • @typenamehere19 What a stupid assumption to make.

  • I thought we were an autonomous collective?

  • I wish that peasant could be my MP. Brilliant stuff!

  • This is why we dont educate the masses. When will we learn to stop educating the blue collar averave shmo and keep the reading and writing to ourselves.

  • I didn't vote for him either. AND SHUT UP YOU BLOODY PEASANT!!!

  • "I didn't vote for you!" lol

  • Comment removed

  • Some watery tart threw swords at 56 people.

  • oh google guys you are becoming so annoying... STOP THE ADVERTS. YOU HAVE ALREADY GOT ENOUGH MONEY FOR THE LIFE OF YOUR GRANDSONS

  • SHUT UP, WILL YOU SHUT UP!

I scream that at people who get on my nerves :D

  • Help, help! I'm being repressed!

  • If i had $1 dollar for every pixel, I'd have $1.

  • @sybolicious you fail.....

  • @sybolicious you suck (and fail) maybe you didnt notice but the majority of this sketch is audio anyway. if you want mega pixels, fuck off and play WipeOut Fusion on a HDTV. shallow prick. Cant you just get your kicks from the cleverly written script? Clearly not, perhaps you are of simpler mind....it looks that way.

  • "Help, help I'm being repressed!" XD

  • HELP HELP I'M BEING REPRESSED!!!!

  • @divinelifez Why is it Americans so often have to turn anything like this into a comment about their own government or president? The sketch is hilarious in resonating with everyone who understands the principles the peasant character espouses to comic effect, given his lowly position, and which points to the absurdity of the original idea of Kings and Queens, which continues today, albeit with royals having much less power. A typical Python satire, prevalent in this film and more so in LOB!

  • @manygate10 I made a simple joke that deutschbag chose to lecture me on. Read my original post. After 30+ years of watching this movie, this clip is one of my favorites, so I understand the comedy in it. We Americans are having big problems with our government at the moment. If it weren't so serious, it would be almost as funny as this movie.

  • @TrekToons At least Obama wouldn't have sent your troops into Iraq, supported by our Tone! And he is far more intelligent than George W! I know there is, of course, much more to your point than this however!

  • 240p? what is this, Africa?

  • I agree with 100% what that peasant said..LOL...bloody peasant.

"If I walked around claiming I was emperor because some bloody bimbo handed me a sword they would lock me up for being mad."

  • @cosmicforums Please don't quote your own words.

  • come see the violence inherent in the system!

  • Comment removed

  • His anarcho-syndicalist society sounds a lot like simple democracy to me.

  • HELP! HELP! I'm being repressed!

  • @dash908 I use to have a sound file on my PC that said just that whenever I minimized a window! XD

  • @Yabanko that is quite possibly the most awesome thing I've heard all day

  • the peasant actually makes sense

  • Show me another video with a million views and a hundred to one like dislikes.

    This was so funny.

  • Lol, his wife thought we were an 'autonomous collective'

  • Ooh Dennis there's some lovely filth over here!

  • @TrekToons Good sir, I respect and agree with your opinion.

  • I had a annoying fan once he would not be quite and he ran form all my battles so i want up a high mountain and shot him with my bow:)

  • @divinelifez An implication is NOT namecalling. Calling a stranger (me) a 'moron' is. I didn't even mention Obama's name. You did. And since you did, I'm afraid that's my impression of him. And if you're offended by my slight implication, then you're far too sensitive. Furthermore, I highly respect THE OFFICE of the President. That doesn't mean I have to have any respect for it's occupant.

  • @TrekToons I don't see how they are distinguishable. A president in the United States is representative of that office. Even if you did not want said individual to win, which, personally I did not, it becomes contradictory to respect an office without respecting the one holding it. Sometimes it may be hard but civilians hold the responsibility of respecting and supporting their elected leaders. Besides, the US system derives from congress making decisions, the president is an enforcer of them.

  • @deutschbag1000 This President has been circumventing Congress for over 2 years. Now he is being urged, by his advisers, to circumvent the US Constitution. It's in the news.

  • @deutschbag1000 YOU may not be able to distinguish between a position, or office, and the person who holds it, but I find it very easy. I can respect a position of authority without respecting the person who occupies that position. Although I recognize Obama as the US President, I have little respect for him. I have more admiration for the office he holds than I have for him. That's the distinction. A man that I have little respect for is holding an office that I have great respect for.

  • Now we see the violence inherent in the System!

  • LOL, I love how King Arthur gets all annoyed when Dennis won't shut up.

  • @divinelifez You took my comment far too seriously. But, I won't lower myself to namecalling.

  • Strange women lying in ponds distributing swords is no basis for a system of government

  • @Sapire12 way to copy the top comment word for word

  • @CharlieWillisVG thanks

  • You don't vote for kings? Didn't that happen in the U.S. back in '08?
