@Chaoticbluedreamer By dub do you mean subs or actual dubbing into English speaking? Real Anime fans watch their stuff in Japanese with subtitles if needed. Keep it authentic.
I find it funny that after almost 20 years, SM still has one of the best animation when it comes to movement, flow, and all that. Just look at the transformations, especially sailor moon's. It's really really complex and most of them are better looking than today's animations. It's one of those things that don't require a remake, because the original is so good. If they'd ever do a remake, it has to be a darn good one, to do it justice.
@kristicuk I wouldn't do anything beyond update the graphics a touch; make them clearer and sharper, as well as a bit of re-rendering for clearer vocals and music. Keep all the original movement and flow, make a painstaking effort to do so.
@kristicuk The live action remake was actually pretty entertaining, imho. Once you get over how bizarre fighting in those outfits look, the characterization is rather good.

@enzsal1 only the manga, not the anime itself. I have both Sailor Moon mangas (so number 1 and 2 getting 3 in Janurary, 4 in March, 5 in May and 6 in July) and I have both Sailor V mangas (There is only 2 so I have both)

The dubbed one came to the US in 1995 (And the dub was bad since they butchered the anime for 4 year old girls)

One of the things I like about Sailor Moon is that the original version used the same song for multiple series but with a different animated sequence. It makes the song truly iconic as opposed to shows that just use a different pop song every season.

Sailor MOon was my first Japanese anime. It came out on UPN and i was in elementary. I was hooked. I went home each day to watch it! I Japanese anime is so addicting unlike american cartoons haha

this was the 1st show cartoon or otherwise that got me so absorbed in the plot very rare do cartoons have plot, never knew a story could be so interesting before this and it was so easy to follow for my 6ish yr old self this is what makes anime so much better then american shows and I felt so wrong watching it being a guy I would change the channel anytime someone walked in one me watching this show, lol. dbz is good but the plot didn't grab me like sailor moon
I remember watching this show as a kid and my sister, me, my cousins, and two of my childhood friends all hand different figurines of the characters. I remember sa-wooning over Tuxedo Mask... *sigh*
I've never noticed how artistic and descriptive the sailor moon openings are. I feel like, it doesn't matter if I can't understand what the song is saying. If you watch closely, you get a sense for what this is about anyways. And it is deep and beautiful.
@koeun0723 If you're talking about R, he didn't necessarily hate her, he was just trying to protect her, because of the dreams he kept having, saying that if he stayed with her, she would die. If you mean the first season, they didn't know who the other one was. If you mean The Doom Tree Series, he lost all of his memories, so he didn't know about their shared past life, or who she had been before the battle of queen beryl.
i think if they allowed the u.s to portray the characters as they were originally ment to be like japan did japan , then there would be alot less hate/bashing toward the gay community. alot of the original characters were gay and some had their sex changed or switched to brotherly or sisterly love in the u.s
I grew up only watching the English dub (didn't know about the Japanese one) and I recently realized how many plot elements the English dub messed up. Zirconia was turned into a guy and Fish Eye was turned into a girl which made me very confused while watching Super S =/

SAILOR MOON IS RETURNING!!! ^.^ In 2011, and Toonami might be coming back in 2012 or 2013, cartoon network said that they will bring it back if Poeple really want it. AND, Nickeloden (or however you spell it) Offically annouched they are gowing back to how they used to be, because they said it was one big mistake to change! I can't wait!!! ^.^

One of the things I like about Sailor Moon is that the original version used the same song for multiple series but with a different animated sequence. It makes the song truly iconic as opposed to shows that just use a different pop song every season.

@arif020 Each season has a different plot, but it starts off when Luna the Cat tells 14 year old girl Usagi Tsukino (Her name is a pun on the Japanese myth "Rabbit of the Moon") she is Sailor Moon and has to fight Dark Kingdom and find out who is Moon Princess from the past. The story builds up once Sailor Mercury appears (episode 8) ^^
Each season has a different plot and different enemies

Sailor MOon was my first Japanese anime. It came out on UPN and i was in elementary. I was hooked. I went home each day to watch it! I Japanese anime is so addicting unlike american cartoons haha

" boys cant be the sailor mars..you should be masked tuxedo instead"
and i started to cry and tell to my teacher that i want to be sailor mars

this was the 1st show cartoon or otherwise that got me so absorbed in the plot very rare do cartoons have plot, never knew a story could be so interesting before this and it was so easy to follow for my 6ish yr old self this is what makes anime so much better then american shows and I felt so wrong watching it being a guy I would change the channel anytime someone walked in one me watching this show, lol. dbz is good but the plot didn't grab me like sailor moon

I remember watching this show as a kid and my sister, me, my cousins, and two of my childhood friends all hand different figurines of the characters. I remember sa-wooning over Tuxedo Mask... *sigh*

I've never noticed how artistic and descriptive the sailor moon openings are. I feel like, it doesn't matter if I can't understand what the song is saying. If you watch closely, you get a sense for what this is about anyways. And it is deep and beautiful.

@koeun0723 If you're talking about R, he didn't necessarily hate her, he was just trying to protect her, because of the dreams he kept having, saying that if he stayed with her, she would die. If you mean the first season, they didn't know who the other one was. If you mean The Doom Tree Series, he lost all of his memories, so he didn't know about their shared past life, or who she had been before the battle of queen beryl.

i think if they allowed the u.s to portray the characters as they were originally ment to be like japan did japan , then there would be alot less hate/bashing toward the gay community. alot of the original characters were gay and some had their sex changed or switched to brotherly or sisterly love in the u.s

I grew up only watching the English dub (didn't know about the Japanese one) and I recently realized how many plot elements the English dub messed up. Zirconia was turned into a guy and Fish Eye was turned into a girl which made me very confused while watching Super S =/
