  • Driving a Jeep Wrangler is a full time job, you have to be aware of wind conditions, defects in the road, cornering speeds, just about everything. They have a short wheel base, high ground clearance and no weight over the rear axle. If you drive a wrangler like a sports car you'll end up in a hospital, they get squirly at high speeds and can get away from you in a hurry. They don't have the safety and creature comforts of other vehicles but that's makes a jeep unique.

  • I rolled my Jeep doing 600 mph. at Bonneville. The vehicle was bone stock. I received only minor abrasions on my wallet. The Jeep was fully functional and I continued on to the Grand Canyon where I jumped the canyon at the widest point and jumped back. Then I drove my Jeep through Siberia in the dead of winter. I had to stop at Kilauea, because my tires melted. But must I say more. Buy a Jeep and stop nit-picking about safety. Senseless ass fuckers !

  • should be banned drom european roads. want an SUV yes? proove that you are working in or living in woods

  • Fuck this car, my friend is dead and the other is in a coma because of this shity ass car. It rolled over and they got thrown out even tho they had their seat-belts on...they were only going 80kmh/40mph.

  • thats why you dont buy a newer jeep their build so shitty jks are shit

  • Jeep hasn't been good since 1986.

  • OIIIIIIIO

  • What they didn't show is it drove off afterwards. Jeeps ftw.

  • Ejected then what are sea tbelts for?

  • I hydroplaned into a 2010 grand charakee and boy I got some good damage on my driver side. No airbags and I was doing 37 and I only got a whiplash for 5 minutes and that was it.

  • lol..."It didn't hurt the dummy, but it could have."

  • I <3 OllllO

  • A bird flew into the grill on my jeep liberty!!!! Damn did that do some damage!!!!

  • Frame is buckling!!! Shame on jeep

  • The video fades at exactly the right spot. Jeep drivers tune out at about that point anyway. I love Jeep.

  • Jeeps have one of the toughest side structures out of any vehicle on the road thanks to its roll-cage.

  • all 4x4 trucks and SUVs are jeep wana bees

  • @surredneck66 not a international scout :O

  • right b4 impact switch the jeep out 4 a hummer n a nice jeep wont have to my crashed lol

  • The sad thing about these crash tests is that people don't generally have head-on collisions. In the years since the advent of SUVs, people began to experience a greater percentage of injuried due to rollover....which are not modeled in these tests.

  • A Honda civic slid on black ice while turning in a parking lot and slammed into the back end in my 2011 Unlimited. I had to get a second opinion to see if I had damage. Honda though had to get a new passenger back door and remove a dent from the spare tire on my Jeep from their roof. Now thats a perfect American made vehicle.

  • @Jaydude0611 That's owned by Fiat. lol. Just kidding with ya. I love Jeeps. I've owned two in the past and when I sell my Mustang, the Unlimited will be my next vehicle.

  • Death trap

  • dodge and jeep are the only good things that come out of chrysler

  • I don't see Wranglers involved in too many crashes. Maybe it's because their dirvers don't buy them to race around and don't push the vehicles limits.

  • @NemeanLion "don't push the vehicles limits" ........On road :)

  • I got rear ended yesterday in my Jeep. Lets just say that I had a couple scratches on my bumper and the person who rear ended me has to get a whole new car.

  • Leave it to american auto to be unsafe!

  • @japnikki How is it unsafe?

  • why did they use the Sahara version of the 4-door!?!?!? could have saved some money if they got the basic level sport/X just with all the safty air bags....

  • jeep strangler

  • my heart just clinched a little bit when i saw that destroyed jeep wrangler........hell yeah!~ crazy mother f***ker!

  • THE TIRES POPPED!

  • To bad they're made by shitty Chrysler, Who is almost forgotten.

  • THE HAPPENING

  • Not bad for an overrated toy...

  • Stealing your words? LOL and what words would that be again? You're not making any sense as usual. Oh so now that you read stories it makes you an expert huh, give me a break. Just because you read something doesn't automatically make you an expert in it you fool. I grew up around IIHS translate to I read stories on the Internet about crashes. LOL. Yeah i have no reference, you're right, that's why i drive one and do my own mechanic work on my car. You on the other hand have no experience.

  • dangerous car to drive in

no side air bags no side sensors please u safer in a mini cooper

  • @HASSDICH62 Agreed. If you go to Google and actually look at pictures of what these things look like in real crashes, it is horrible. My mother had a 2008 Jeep Wrangler 2-door model, but I finally talked her into trading the death trap in and getting the new 2011 BMW 528i that has a 5 star frontal, side, and roll over rating. Jeeps are nothing but unluxurious, bumpy, death traps.

  • @LoveTheCity123 it doesn't matter what car has what safety rating if you get hit at a very high speed your dead peroid. Most of these impacts on the road exceed the gov and IIHS speed crash test. what 5 stars can mean at a 35mph side crash test can mean something completely diff if you get hit at 45mph in a side crash in which no car on the road is side crash tested that high pf a speed which is the avg speed on a main road going through intersections.

  • @SteelCity1981 Actually you are wrong on that. It does matter what kind of car you are in during a crash. Just a few days ago, a 2008 Mercedes C300 was on the New Jersey Turnpike going 75 MPH when a semi-truck crossed over into the median and hit the Mercedes-Benz head on at 60 MPH. Both drivers walked away without a scratch. You can go read the article at NY1. If you don't know what you are talking about, don't argue with someone who has more knowledge than you in the first place.

  • @LoveTheCity123 Funny how you twist what i said. You are talking about head on which gives you obv a lot more protection in side crashes, the intial statement was in regards to side impact crashes. With that said your knowledge is what based on one thing? LOL look at the avg high speed crashes, it doesn't matter what car you are in the vast majority of those wrecks are not designed to withstand those types of crashes If you were truly knownledgable then you would know this.

  • @LoveTheCity123 oh and has for that soo called wreck that everyone walked away in hmmm what does this say.

"Four members of a Bronx family are dead following a car accident They say he tried to illegally pass a tractor trailer when he hit another car traveling southbound, head on"

Yep sure looked like they all walked away. Thanks for proving my point.

  • @SteelCity1981 Hey dumbass, the NJ turnpike is not in the Bronx. The Mercedes-Benz C300 crash was in New Jersey on the NJ Turnpike. There was only one driver. Listen, 14 year old kid, you need to get off the internet and get with reality. You don't know how to act with people whom are more smarter and intelligent than you. You also have not been involved with the IIHS for 6 years. You have no knowledge of car crash basics. It all depends on which car you are driving during a crash. Get a life.

  • @LoveTheCity123 Ha hey moron then why don't you show me the direct link to it. A 14 year old kid that still lives at his parents house is telling me to get with reality? Son you wouldn't know what reality is. You live at your parents house thinking you know everything lol. Wait until you step out into real life and then you will get a true dose of what reality is. You have been involved with the IIHS since age 6? Give me a break youtube doesn't count lol.

  • @LoveTheCity123 As for intelligent, your lack of intelct shows clrearly that you have little, but then again a 14 year old that thinks he has it all figured out will tend to think he knows more, to stroke his little ego, when in reality doesn't know half as much as he thinks he does. Well no kidding sherlock some cars fair better in others in crashes in low speed crashes, what you continue to fail to understand is that there is a point where any car no matter who makes it will fail badly.

  • @LoveTheCity123 and why is that? hmm lets see cars aren't designed to crash at high speeds, because it would be way too costly and consume way too much gas to design a car that can within high speed crashes, that's a fact. Of cousr this of course is coming from a 14 year old that doesn't have his drivers licence yet lives at his parents house. Come talk to me when you do get a real life.

  • @SteelCity1981 It's funny that you have to steal my words because you can't think of any. Stop making me make you look stupid like I previously did. Head-on crashes happen all the time. I've read stories about Volvo's, BMW's and Mercedes-Benz' cars being involved in some and they walked away with no scratched. You are ignorant and you have no reference about cars and their safety. Also, by the way, learn how to spell.

  • @LoveTheCity123 The only experience you have in a car is riding in the passenger seat. So really stop making yourself look idiotic as if you are some expert in cars when you don't even drive lol. Learn how to spell? I'm sorry i didn't know this was a test. Now i know you have no argument by diverting the initial argument off hand to something else. Oh wait that's right you read about it so you must be an expert LOL. That's the most funniest shit I have read on here all week, thanks.

  • @SteelCity1981 the head and neck. Take for example a Volvo XC60. It has good ratings in every single test that has been done. A Jeep Wrangler would be least to have a surviving passenger. You have low self esteem, which comes from you not wanting to admit that you are wrong. You have physiological issues that you need to address. You are just mad because I prove you wrong every single time I reply back to you. I am blocking you because I get the last word and I win. Goodbye.

  • @LoveTheCity123 You are truly a dumbass. You are talking a car hitting another car in the same amount of weight class go look at what happens when a Yaris hits a Camry. Both have good ratings in their "respectable" weight class, but it becomes an entirely diff story when they hit head on. Again it's called physics moron, physics! You haven't proved shit other then your idiocy moron. I have been with the IIHS for 6 years LOL, Internet doesn't count moron, go back to playing with your toys.

  • @SteelCity1981 Dude, shut the fuck up .. I agree with LoveTheCity123 .. You fucking steal his words because you can't think of any .. My aunt was in a 2006 BMW 3 Series and she was hit head on by a oncoming drunk driver going 120 MPH driving a Toyota Corolla. She walked away with one scratch on her leg. The guy in the Corolla died on the scene. From what you were saying, a Toyota ( Camry and Yaris ), have the same weight ? Yeah, I agree with him again, you are a complete dumbass. ---

  • @WhatARandomSinger LOL you are either LoveTheCity123 himself or his boyfriend because you both sound like jackasses. I never said they had the same weight you fucktard i stated they are in diff wieght classes. Bull shit 120mph wreck? Now i know your totally full of shit come show me the proof then.

  • @LoveTheCity123 I love how you make reference to BMW and Benz cars little did you know for example the 2008-10 models of the BMW 5 series gets a marginal rating in side impact test. When cars much cheaper get good ratings in side impact test. Oops there goes your theory, that more doesn't always mean safer. Lastly you call a Jeep a death trap? LOL A jeep will have a better chance of surviving a head on crash then any car would, it's called physics.

  • @SteelCity1981 Who said anything about a side crash ? Who said anything about a " 5 series " .. ? See, you clearly are a failure in life. Yeah, I can guarantee you it was a " test " ... Admit that you are wrong. You know you are. I've been involved with the IIHS for 6 years. I've seen the worst and the best. " A Jeep will have a better chance of surviving a head on crash than any car would. " Actually you are wrong, again as usual. A Jeep Wrangler ( 2-door ) has a " acceptable rating to ---

  • Did you or did you not state BMW you did. Now you go from overall safety to what are we talking about side impacts for LOL. A failure in life lol? The only failure in life i see is some 14 year old kid that thinks he knows everything their is about car safety in in fact he knows jack shit, but sits behind is pc and reads and calls himself an expert. Grade A Loser. Are you an idiot everyone knows a smaller object fairs worse then a larger object it's called physics jackass.

  • @SteelCity1981 A fucking Toyota Camry and yaris have a 1,000 weight similarity. It all depends on which kind of car you fucking drive, dip shit. If my aunt was in a fucking unsafe Toyota, she would have died. But the BMW saved her. Safety and your life all depend on which kind of car you drive. Besides, didn't he call you a 14 year old first ? Haha, dude, you are a failure in life and you really need to get your statistics and your shitty " comebacks " ( yeah right ) right.

  • @WhatARandomSinger You must be a fucking jackass go look at what happens when A Carmy and Yaris hit each other. They both scored good in their own respectable ratings but when the Yaris hits a Camry head on the Yaris gets a poor dip shit. Why is that, it's called Again for the 5th time phyics, you dumb fuck. No you fucktard he is he was 14. Reading comprehension goes a long way moron. You suck at not only being half smart but suck in reading comprehension.

  • @SteelCity1981 Also, i am blocking you too because I don't argue with dumbasses who only want to hear what they want to hear ! Haha, I and Lovethecity just made you look like a fucking failure and a dumbass. Haha !

  • @WhatARandomSinger That's because you are a pussy like your boyfirend that can't have a legit argument without making himself look like a moron.

  • @LoveTheCity123 You're supposed to be smart or "more smarter"? "more smarter" is a double negative (improper English). Shows how smart you are :)

  • @chsbears53 Its not a double negative, I cant remember what it is called but it is not a double negative.

  • @HASSDICH62 Jeeps have side airbags as options. Uninformed nitwits are far more dangerous, especially when they vote.

  • So I guess the tires deflate every single crash?

  • thats why u lift it about 4 feet....that way other cars wont hit ya just drive under u

  • lol...its better than my 1990 yj wrangler

  • I love JEEP! ºlllllllº

  • fuck safety. too many pansy ass people out there. i will take purpose built thank you

  • You can't make a safe door that come off lol otherwise it would be too heavy... I'm still gonna drive mine though lol

  • you hand would also get crushed too since the door hit the sterring wheel....

  • jeep scramblers are so fun to ride in

  • I'm a Jeep Owner Until i Die. I Live i Ride i am Jeep. Have Fun out there.

  • WHY , WHY DESTROY THAT BEAUTIFUL JEEP ???? this is the best cars :P

  • older wranglers have terrible crash tests

  • I said well hello! to the wrangler when its horn honked

  • This newer midel is a hell of alot safer than the old one.

  • ha that front fender flare looks like it would impale someone.

    sweet.

  • What about side impacts with the doors taken off?

  • You're f**ked then...

  • my next car! yay!

  • Comment removed

  • Get on the side ,Your dead..................

  • Ok, i would chalk this up as a win for the Jeep, but two loses for any nearby pedestrians. On the jeep: +2 for survivability, but -1 for the flying glass in the side impact

  • offroadmaster1 you have absolutely no idea...

  • Internal Org...... What???

Thay cut out the most important bit. LOL

Thumbs up for the Jeep tho

    OIIIIIIIO

  • Comment removed

  • @Svendogga damage may be possible

  • @Svendogga i got an FJ, but i also love JEEEEEEEEEEEEP ... OllllllllO ... u got my vote

  • you idiot why don't you just finish the video!?!

  • very well

  • I love my jeep wrangler is tough and the design is perfet ... jeep is the mother of all vehicles

  • @backtolife15 same desing for...60 years,

    beats the porshe

  • @backtolife15 What year you got ?? I am seriously thinking of getting one.

  • It'll buffout. It's Jeep.

  • Why didn't they crash test the 2 door model as well. The 2 door model is a little diff in frontal crash test then the 4 door model. the 2 door model gets good ratings on booth the left/right foot where the 4 door gets an acceptable rating on the right foot. But the 4 door gets good in the head neck where the 2 door gets acceptable in the head neck. these figures are coming from the IIHS. So if the frontal impacts are a little diff I on models, wonder if that's the case with the side impacts

  • Yeah, the 2 door has a shorter wheel base and would have a much different side impact. If they tested correctly they would have to test two 2doors two 4door models, one with side airbags one without. Thats 4 total Wranglers, sad.

  • That car lok like a a freakin chum bucket!

  • Listen to the bullshit spewing from this video. That car is as stiff as a board, you will die if you crash one at any speed above 10.

  • No actually it would kill the person it ran into anyway the steel is so thick. I have got in a wreck with me jeep and nothing happened to it, but it messed up the other car.

  • No. You will come to a instant stop against your seatbelt, crushing and possibly exploding most of you internal organs. It's not the speed that kills you, but the sudden stop.

  • isn't a sudden stop technically a decrease in speed, so it is speed that kills you

  • The human body can withstand a certain amount of negative acceleration, any more and you die. These people replying to this, saying that their yank tanks are so invincible, are not going fast enough to experience that deceleration. The ones who have are dead and can't quite reply to this. Look at some stats, the safest cars are the ones which have crumple zones, _not_ the stiffest.

  • Your right mormonstang i had an older jeep and hit a tree dead on doin 60 kms grill an bumper had to be replaced it was a tank

  • well the only thing i wouldnt like is tht quarter panel flying off at me

    id still buy one

  • lol the tire when flat

  • the new jeep wranglers are ugly!

  • really? I think they are lookin' damn fine. What design features don't you like?

  • they look too boxy now, like a hummer. 4 doors is more convinient, but i just dont think it looks like the wrangler style... they also made the grille slant back a lot more than before, and where it looks like the top half of a hexagon for the wheelwell, that has changed a lot too. i dont like it at all, but thats just my opinion

  • Yeah, everyone have different taste. :)

My opinion is that the new Wrangler looks great. Very simple, but still good looking. The Rubicon model offers brilliant offroad abilities. I think it is best wrangler that has been made so far.

  • look at the front tire

  • that jeep is fixable, just needs a new font end amd maybe some engine work. tougher that my gti, but my gti is FASTER! :D

  • dud that jeep is gone. By the time you start to rework on the front it will cost damn near as much as a new one, not to mention prob never ride the same.

  • frame is bent too much. the A-Pillar bent a bit, too much money......

  • Well yesterday my Jeep Wrangler Sahara was put to the ultimate test and received a powerfull accident from behind and it bumped the frontal car due to the impact of accident...My car went with minor scratches and dents on both bumpers...while both cars a Chevy and a Toyota corola received a huge amount of damage...

  • my first crash in a Jeep was from a Geo Metro that ran a red light. My Jeep had NO damage at all. It hit somewhere between the tire and the running bar - really not sure since I couldn't even see a scratch. The Geo looked like it was totaled - front of it was completely smashed.

  • thats because ... you hit a geo ...

I could probably total a geo with my fist

  • That jeep has a fucking hard front, look how it CRUSHED the deformable barrier...if u see a smaler car crash test u'll see the energy difference written on the barrier

  • Seems like the dummy was stopped rather quickly. That means higher G's on the human body and greater risk of internal injuries in more severe crashes.

  • and i just bought a 2008 Dodge Caliber SXT

  • watch what you guys say i work at dodge

  • oh im sorry...dodge sucks

  • yeahh

  • safe, but the jk's are top heavy and very easy to roll, as well as any tj or yj. this is a very inefficient off road vehicle, in my opinion. Thats why i went with the wj, wide wheel base, and great 4x4 performance.

  • WHATS JK TI YI OR WJ

  • tj=wrangler

    wj=2nd gen. grand cherokee

    zj=first. gen. grand cherokee

    yj=1st gen. wrangler

    kj=liberty

    mj=comanche (bad ass)

    sj=cherokee, wagoneer, grand wagoneer

cj=civilian versions of military jeeps (original willy's)

  • oh and jk=gen.2007 wrangler

  • o thanks

  • There is ESP available.

  • Eventhough the sides airbag didn't deploy in the test I still trust the Wrangler for safety...Jeep is the mother of all offroad cars

  • Then that would make Land Rover the father (of all offroad cars).

  • not

  • Are you implying that the rubbish Wrangler would be a better offroad vehicle than a Land Rover?

  • land rover? that's a pretty gay rig, man. often times they are driven by complete homos.

  • land rovers are made for peter-puffers

  • i love this jeep more!!!!!

  • Toyota FJ Cruiser is much better built & engineered. FJ Cruiser is safe too; while Wranglers are less reliable & have lower resale value. Good news: Toyota uses proprietary offroad traction control system. Jeep, in contrast, uses Dana differential locks. Is it worth it making your 4x4 offroad-worthy while using vendory components rather than making your own?

  • Comment removed

  • The front airbags didn't deploy in this side test.

  • Can i have the rims?

  • holy shit the wrangler are tough !

  • were looking at buying one of these jeeps...does anyone have one and know if they are good cars?

  • like...?

  • I have a rubicon. Once you buy it, prepare to either use it for its intended purpose(offroading) or hate its shortcomings. Its like a machete, sure, there are prettier swords out there, but this bastard keeps chopping when everything else is broken. (including toys)

  • best car i've ever owned.

  • YEAH JUST WAIT TILL 3MONTHS

  • que?

  • que?

  • ur a nob.

  • its spelt nbe dumbass

  • its spelt nube last comment mistake

  • thats nice to know

  • You are obviously can't keep you hand off it. I was involved in a crash with my jeep and a light comercial truck. Guess who had no damage at all to their vehicle? You need to wake up to yourself asshole.

  • Comment removed

  • The Bumper is still metal, it is only covered by a plastic/fiberglass outrigger to reduce the cost of damages in low-speed crashed for insurance purposes. The vehicle is designed to slowly deform and thereby reduce human damage. If the vehicle was not designed to systematically give way the occupants would be subjected to much greater impact forces and therefore would incur a higher level of bodily harm.

  • Modern vehicles are designed to sacrifice themselves for the people inside and if you are ever involved in any high speed wrecks you would defiantly be thankful for it.

  • Comment removed

  • I don't think you paid any attention... THE BUMPER IS STILL METAL... It is only covered with plastic to prevent high insurance costs due to low speed impacts. *Notice the shinny thing in the front after it crashes*

  • From 1987 to 1994 The Jeep YJ utilized uncovered metal bumpers which did nothing to protect the passengers.

**Look up 1994 Jeep Crash on YouTube**

If you look it up you will see in a Full frontal (NOT OFFSET) crash the jeep received 2 stars for the driver.

  • oh yeah metal really reduces impact go back to middle school kiddy

  • Comment removed

  • way to think out loud

  • Most people remove the factory bumpers anyway so the factory is saving money making the bumper cheaper so that they can offer the vehicle to the consumer at a lower initial cost. Why spend a s-load of money on something that most Jeep enthusiasts are replacing anyway?

  • What the hell are you talking about? Modern cars in general are much stronger built than older cars. Just look at the strong safety cage? Older cars tend to collaps in such a test. A new Suburban for instance would absolutely destroy an old Burb in an frontal crash.

  • yea dude seriously you obviously have no fucking clue what your talking about. Modern cars "crunch" the perfect amount to prevent both whiplash and being crushed

  • I think what the other person was implying was that since they had steel bumpers and metal bodys instead of polyeurothane, that the impact damage was much less.

  • Not bad!!

  • nice videos dude
