The Silva debacle consumed the media's attention, but most mma fans realized Penn won, so the instant rematch was earned. Just like the Shogun Machida fight ... ok maybe not by that much... but still I believe the rematch was legitimately earned.

Plus, from a business perspective, Penn is one of the leading names in the sport, he gets a little favoritism because of this.

@eekeemowmow These fighters get staph infections from not properly cleaning themselves after training. Usually they'll grapple around on gym mats, which probably already has a layer of sweat, dust, debris, etc. Fighters can get it from skin-to-skin contact and mat-to-skin contact. So ultimately, it's up to how hard the fighter has to rub in that soap and shampoo into their skins to prevent getting a staph infection.

To say that Gomi was in shape in their fight is rediculous. Gomi looked much bigger and leaner in the Griffin fight. He also looked like his striking was much sharper. I'm not saying Gomi could now beat with Florian, but Kenny is blind if he thinks he fought a motivated and in shape Gomi.
