Most people I knew threw out there T.V's and got a bigger computer monitors. The T.V is like the 8 track... old and useless.

I agree. But historically, most people aren't paying close enough attention to see beyond the mainstream. There is a general tendency to dismiss anything that differs from a "majority opinion". Not to be overly cynical, and I'm not trying to discourage RNN. The Real News is such a godsend. The "Liberal" media that the right wingers claim oppress them so vigorously, hasn't existed for quite some time, my friends. I have been watching Real News adamantly for months now, and I am astounded at the hate comments I've been seeing here.
1. Click on "Latest News" link to see older videos. Has videos from the past week or so. Should find the other "parts" you may be looking for.
2. During the election process, I admit that they bash McCain more, but they have many videos that are anti-Obama policy as well.
3. No one likes war. That's a given. Real News is very anti-war, but I don't see that as a bad thing.

As ii remember PJ was doing an oped on Ron Paul. PJ could barely hide his contempt for Mr. Paul. Mr. Paul happens to be a great American on the grounds that he is the only one promoting adherence to our founding document, The Constitution.

I was against the Iraqi war, but only because I felt that Saudi Arabia was the issue on the front burner, not Iraq. I never doubted that Saddam was a serious issue though. I also remember very clearly that he gassed whole villages, lunched missiles into other countries, and spoke openly of his nuclear program. Real news seems to have amnesia.

My only problem is that it definetly seems to hold a leftward slant. They automatically talk about global warming as if all the facts PROVE that it is real and legitamate, thus they are taking sides on a debate, and aren't offering the opposition. Most people I knew threw out there T.V's and got a bigger computer monitors. The T.V is like the 8 track... old and useless.
All of us seem to feel and see the same thing. The minute we got rid of our T.V's it seem like a 2000 pound weight was taken off our minds and were were able to think again. Clearer... and a few of us after a month became better at math programming the works... Not even kidding a little... serious unplug yourself from the system. It's really easy..

I love this idea, but I think it's going to face a major challenge. Most networks have to censor themselves because if they don't say good things about any particular branch of the gov't, for example, the military, the consequence will be that the pentagon will not talk to their journalists, but to fox's. This will lead to marginalization and create a perception that RNN isn't respectable. It could easily become a whipping boy.

I agree. But historically, most people aren't paying close enough attention to see beyond the mainstream. There is a general tendency to dismiss anything that differs from a "majority opinion". Not to be overly cynical, and I'm not trying to discourage RNN. I actually feel it's very important that they keep their integrity if we are to build to a majority opinion that more closely conforms to what we might call Reason. Just pointing out hurdles, in what's intended to be a supportive way.

I think it is simplistic because the whole reason we are there is because the actions of Saddam Hussein. It all started because of him, and any event that occurs during this war could have been prevented by Saddam. All Saddam had to do was cooperate with the U.N.

The announcer states there is a global climate problem when not all of science has. The on screen graphics state there is a civil war in Iraq when not all historians and global experts have.

Almost every story I see regarding Iraq is from the perspective of the people that are killing American soldiers and Iraqi police. I don't see stories showing the good things the Iraqi government is doing or has done.
"Iraqi lawmakers call for end to Sadr City siege"-a story about some in government calling for Maliki and US to leave Sadr City. "Baghdad's Sadr City death toll mounts"-a story blaming deaths and wounded on Maliki and US. They don't say the only reason for the fighting is al-Sadr

The Real News is such a godsend. The "Liberal" media that the right wingers claim oppress them so vigorously, hasn't existed for quite some time, my friends. The Real News has a perspective I just don't find anywhere else: a well informed, fearless and searching process of telling us whats going on, rather than the state sponsored propaganda machine one sees almost everywhere else (particularly fox news- the evil bastards)
