The Beatles wrote alot of their songs with tongues in cheeks the majority of the time and why shouldn't other artists have a bit of fun with them s well. Don't take it all seriously.

They're the Temperance Seven.

Their gimmick was that there were 8 of them, I think. They were a comedy band produced by George Martin before he'd ever heard of the Beatles. They were extremely silly and great trad jazz musicians in equal measure.

There are some great black and white clips of their original hits, such as 'You're Driving Me Crazy and (better still) Pasadena from 1961 on Youtube somewhere.
