Apparently this girl has NEVER known anyone who was raped because she is reciteing this so emotionlessly... I don't believe she was raped. This can be a very emotional monologue but she doesnt take those opportunities. Must say... not impressed.
@aneagletall You're right she is ACTING... and a true actor who takes there work seriously knows that if you are in fact acting the part... your doing something wrong. To act is to create... you wont actually portray the message unless you truly make the audience believe that what your talking about actually happened. And with the intro of the clip... I expected an actor who knew what she was doing... not some chick who memorized some words off a page.
I don't think she's untalented, but I agree that this monologue seems too mature for her. There were moments where she did come off as far too "cute and sad" and not as a character who was raped. I think she should pick something a bit easier for now and try this again after a few more years of experience.
Yes, the artist can ALWAYS improve, and change a piece. It's art! This young woman did a fantastic job on this very difficult monologue! Very nicely done!
In this industry ppl are constantly kissing everyone's ass for two reasons, out of respect for their work or out of fear of burning bridges. That's why class is so great b/c if your teacher is good he/she will rip you a new one even when you do a good job. There are always elements to be improved on and this girl better stick with it b/c man this was bad. If you pick a rape monologue you had better be prepared for the severity of it. randombananana must be her cousin's cousin or something.

I'm doing this monologue for my advanced theatre class in high school, I'm pretty eager to get it over with. I can't wait.

WTF it sounds likes she's reading something off of Sesame Street. Rape is serious and she she be more dramatic.

This is awful. this girl can act, just not very well at all. If she's going to do such a serious monologue, she can't be so cute and sad. ick.
