Who is this? Of all the girls "playing" Carmen on here, she's not playing at all. Huge dark mezzo AND actually looks like somebody Jose could obsess over. Wait for "je l'aime." Wish there was more movement in the scene.
This production is of special significance as I had barely returned from Iraq when I sang.

Such a gorgeous mezzo (contralto?) - and such a beautiful, simple production. The lack of frills or pretention leaves the story with a stark honesty.
