Whadda ya mean, they don't sound white? They sound quite a bit like the NORK. And for good reason. Abbie Brunies turned down the job playing cornet and sent Paul Mares up to Chicago instead.

One of the best band of the roaring twenties indeed. Straight on my favourites and 5 stars. I hope you'll post some more and, if possible, Barataria which includes the last solo recorded by Leon Rappolo on clarinet.
