Start with After Effects...just start out slow. I started with Lightsabers (using Ryan Wieber as inspiration and tutorials.

Watch Andrew Kramer's tutorials starting from After Effects Basics training. From then on, it is just messing with settings and creating various effects tests.

Its called trying something out. As an artist your going to take ideas from people who influence you, its not copying its trying to learn a program and the best way to do that is to practice on 'things already done' You see it all the time in the media.

Fantastic, little more sync with your hands and the vocals would have been great. Also I think you should have shown a little of your face till the mouth :-) to make it more in sync. Awesome... it was like the HP ad itself.

The iPod was real, I four corner tracked the screen then put a diggnation video on it. I didn't know which video would go best for it, nor did I want to sync up audio after, so I just did it in post

Everything was done in After Effects. I brought in one motion element (the sparks on the skateboard grind) as a premultiplied .motn file into my AE comp.

I shot the footage in HD against green screen. Used After Effects to key the footage and composite all the pieces together, then used Final Cut Pro to lay down the (crappy) audio track

Yea, Good work dood. The audio DID suck balls though. Get that straight and you'd have it perfect. Save for a couple jerky hand movements that made the motion tracking hard to follow. Other than that it's bad ass. Good Color lighting as well.
