Love the idea of this scene, Matt Baker is actually pretty damn good (I despise Dr Who and I don't like him as Dr Who), and I love the circumstance being a little unexplained, because that's just how such things work out. It's not giving the entire background to ken's life before the film, it's just to demonstrate the relationship between him and harry

I think they cut it for time or irrelevence. The effects weren't done on it, that's why you cant hear him walk down the stairs, the Foley artist hadnt done that scene. They'd have tidied up the effect in post-production
