nice to see how it`s done in the states, i am truck driver myself in holland, but i use camlock connectors only at farms to unload fertilizers. is that the mainconnector in the us? in holland whe use most of the time german connectors. and in pool i use a akzo connector
how long was the truck in this video? my truck is 15 meters long, and that is very small for european terms. but my tank is specialy build for smal places like pools and farms etc

pavelavietor1. I just looked at my video again and I think I know why you made the comment on pressurizing the tank. When we hooked the airline on the tank and turned the handle on, it wasn't turned on at the customers side. We pressurize after hooking up all lines.
hello, coment ,Driver never presssurize before you are ready to open inner valve. Because if you have a malfunction (driver error, equipment failure) the spill wil be bigger, due to higher pressures and product flow. Also noticed you fail to secure the hose connectors, they could vibrate loose due to normal ware
I appreciate your comments pavelav, but this is the accepted method of unloading we use here. We pressurize first, open the internal and then the external. Your method would technically be safer. If you notice at 2:20 and 2:40 there are cam straps over the cam locks on both ends of the hose.
Good video. Lot like the way i do it exept i vent the tank and run a hydrolic pump off the pto rather than blow it out. I mostly haul hot molasses in a smooth bore. liquid glass sounds pretty heavy, how many dry inches you got with a load of that?
cool, looks easier than what i do. i deliver liquid nitrogen, oxygen, we have to pump off our loads with a pony motor on the trailers, lots more valves to work, and its COLD...maybe some day i will post a vid doing it
Aren't they slowly changing from Pony motors to either electran or hydraulic for unloading? I used to haul cryo, mostly argon, hydrogen, and helium to the docks for overseas shipments.
Thanks for the comments. It's a company truck. 2003 Western Star with a C12 Cat and 18 spd. I'm not with them anymore. Now I drive a '06 International with an ISX Cummins. I prefer the Western Star and the Cat. I'd even take a 60 series Detroit over that ISX.
right on!! I've herd that detroit has a new engine out called the DD15. I used to work on sterling as a apprenticeship for heavy trucks and saw lot of 60 series. it's gotta be my fav. to long with the oldie 6v92
it takes an hour to empty that thing? good god it should fall out of there faster by gravity shouldn't it? and ur giving it 25 psi to push it out?

And I should add here that the cam locks in this video had there own locks on either end of the hose.

why 2 air hook-ups?
chemtankerdave 2 years ago

I think it was about 20 in or so. We loaded on a scale. I know there was a lot of sloshing with it.

Thanks for the comment. That would be great if you could show a video. Tanker work is so secretive. I'd really like to see you at work.

It was liquid glass (sodium silicate). They use it to coat motherboards amongst other things.

ZoeToots. By train I meant backing two trailers into the bay. They call two trailers a train or it could be called "joints".

OH. I'm sorry! I didn't know what you meant. I just learn something everyday! Some more stars for you while I'm here!

It was great how u did the titles saying what was going on!!!! I love this video. Why do they make tankers so darn long?

Thanks ZoeToots. I'm just glad it wasn't a train I had to back in!

YOU have to back into trains???? WHAT!!!! I really enjoyed this video. Thank you for sharing.
