  • @sk8terrrwithskills Protein is good before bed, but tuna won't stay in your system that long. Casein protein is the best before bed, because it digest slower than any other type of protein. Casein protein comes from dairy products.

  • @AsumDude94 Catabolic is a stae you body takes when it doesnt have nutrients to digest for building muscle. So in short go to bed on an empty stomach you body will go catabolic and fix your damaged muscles by taking muscle issue from your other muscles. Being catabolic for large periods wil lresult in your body patching itself up from other muscles all the time and youl see no muscle gains.. or very small muscle gains.

  • I have a question about the type of foods I should eat. I've been dieting for about 3 years cutting calories and watching what I eat and lost 90 pounds. I never worked out for that whole 3 years but started to about 2 months ago. The thing is I know I don't eat the right foods but that's because I can't afford to buy all of that stuff at the moment. Alternatives?

  • @Dazzo91 Whatever is in the house at the time. So normally cereal oatmeal eggs and subway when I have the money for it which might be one twice a month? Other than that I have small small portions of what my mom cooks but being in a mexican family the food isn't the healthiest.

  • @joe24916 All those foods are great! Yes you are right mexican food may not be the healthiest, but remember that the only reason why that is is because of the fat content. Fat is the least satisfying macros, meaning even though they hold 9 Kcal a gram they will not satisfy your hunger like that of protein or carbs that only have 4 kcal/gram. This means that at the end of the day you are taking in a calorie surplus which may be why you will see the fat gain with these foods. My advice, to help

  • @joe24916 counteract all the unsatisfying calories coming from the mexican food, limit your amount of it and have foods where you know what your getting as in limit the times you eat out. Ex. eating things such as eggs, oatmeal and non sugary cereals are all good choices. For the big picture, concentrate less of what you eat and instead on the quantities. If you are worried about what mexican food is doing to your body limit your intake of it and replace it other things you mentioned

  • @Dazzo91 My training is running 2 miles 5 days of the week. I hit arms and shoulders Monday abs Tuesday chest Wednesday abs Thursday back Friday with some arms or legs. Saturday and Sunday I hit whatever I feel at the time

  • @joe24916 I find it very odd that you reserve two of your days for abs. If you begin to strength train with abs, you will begin to expand your ab region and distort your appearance by looking puffy in your mid section. Realistically, you use your abs to support you with almost every exercise you do, your stabilize and begin movement from your core. I never train abs directly and I have a 6 pack. Most of having a 6 pack is through nutrition, take the body fat off and there it is.

  • @joe24916 Perhaps you may want to consider a schedule like chest/tri then a day for back/bi, day for shoulders and then legs. Its up to you if you want that many days or if you want to train arms as a whole for one day but as long as you hit each muscle group within the week you will be on your way.

  • I used to do cottage cheese with peanut butter and stevia mixed in, with 16oz of milk.

    Good casein, lots of protein and healthy fats.

    Stevia is a natural sweetener, 0 calorie. Tasted great to me.

    I'm a swimmer I'm 15. On average I swim twice a day for about 3.5 hours total. And I lift for 45 minutes including stretching. I eat about 3500-5000 calories a day depending on the workout.

    But my question is" Am I doing too much cardio to build muscle?? Because on 9-4-11 I took pics and I weighed 154 and had lean muscle/8 pack.Now on 12-25-11 I'm 158 and I'm getting bitch tits and only a 2 pack, and I've seen no strength gains but only fat increase.   • @SwimmerMan2014 How's it going man, I really wanted to take the time to help answer your question. I was a swimmer myself for about 6 years, and now I'm hooked on lifting. I went through exactly what youre going through. It's not that you are doing too much cardio to build muscle. If you eat to satisfy your hunger you will be fine. Appetite increases natually depending on the amount of stress your putting on your body so if you need the calories your body will be happy to let you know.

  • @SwimmerMan2014 Part 2: Carbs are the body's prefered source of energy so carbs are good, replenish glycogen stores and let you train more efficiently and harder. You have to realize that food does not directly cause growth, so while you are eating plenty it seems that you may have encountered some fat gain. Always remember that the more intense the muscle contraction the more it will grow. Workout with as much intensity as you can esp on the positives. Also you will most likely get more out of

The best way to warm up before you lift is to use the motion of lighter weight to warm up with. Use the motion to warm up because static stretching has been show to weaken lifts. But to answer your question an ideal ratio of macros would be 40 carbs 30 protein 30 fats. Just always have more carbs! Like TMW said use compound movements and challenge yrself

  • @THEUNGUlDED It's very hard to give a person at your age a specific number bc you have so many processes due to puberty that you body is sucking everything down. I will say that at a guy your age and weight just to maintain your body weight you prbly need to eat around 2600 cal a day. A good/average ratio of macros to have is 40-50%:30%:30% of carbs:protein:fats. Just remember that the more you exercise the more cal you burn and the more intensly you train (explosive movements) the greater

  • @THEUNGUlDED 2: the contractions and more muscle repair will need to occur. However, in order to train with intensity that youre looking for, your glycogen stores need to be at peak levels, which can only be replenished by consuming carbs. So if you want to cut back look at your total amount of calories and really try to keep those carbs in there because they will let you keep training effectively to take the rest of that weight. Also you could get away with only 110-150 grams of protein
