Robben is one of those geniuses who OWNS the tone - be it a dry clean tone or a reverb-y overdriven one. I could listen to him playing this stuff for hours.
I don't get this, I just saw a 86 video concert in Montreux on TV with Miles and I couldn't believe I never had seen the lead guitarist before who was just unbelievable... Now I realize it seems this guy was said by miles davis to be one of the best if not the best lead guitarist, he had plaid with and he chose to sing and play (badly) blues songs... I very much do not get it. Why force into something your not good at when you're so talented in something else.
@Matellois1996 I would guess it's because Robben is driven to create his own music, instead of only doing the sideman thing and supporting someone else. Even though he has a strong jazz influence, he has always been a blues guitarist at the core.
If you want an extra couple million views you should just change the title to "Amazing John Mayer Jazz Solo... RARE!!" That'd probably do it... and half the people would never even know, lol.
Robbens deep man! I can tell he took private! lessons man! ;.D

@smauro3 Well, actually he's quoting west side story. The lion king did not come out until 1994.

Yeah, can definitely see the similarity to Sco, although Robben looks a bit inhibited.
