I read your original thread over at Endless-Sphere. In addition to your excellent use of scrap materials to build transportation, I really like the adaption of a freewheel removal tool to actually be part of the drivetrain.
That may be useful for my next electric bike project.

Too many chains is true. but the right kind of copper is NOT weak. Buy type "L" copper pipe, it is decently strong.
RE:chains for gear reduction.If any one out there knows how to make a 16 to 1 gear ratio, or know where to buy one, please post here.

@markecc123 i put a 5 speed lawn mower tranny on my bike 1st gear is about 4 mile an hour and 5th is about 30 works great
