I'm sorry but steroid use or not, Barry is a flipping legend. Let's face it, there is nothing in this world that hasn't been done with some "illegal" help. Come on, it's naive to think so. Sure there are plenty of athletes out there that don't use steroids but it shouldn't be a surprise that some athletes use it [knowing or unknowingly.] Just give it a damn rest and let the fans enjoy this moment.

steroids, steroids, whatever. He cheated and I understand that. But SO MANY players were cheating at the same time, and where were they while Bonds was on his assault of the record? Nowhere near him. Bonds is one of the best players of all time, cheating or not. Steroids may have added a little strength and more stamina, but the way he swung the bat was just incredible. That and his patience, just amazing. Best player of our era without a freaking doubt. Even pre-steroids, he was a clear HOF

People need to just give it a rest. Barry Bonds has been tested multiple times and he HASN'T been found guilty of steroid use. People are just upset it was him who got the record. Besides, steroids or not, hitting as many home runs as he did takes an unbelievable amount of skill. I'd LOVE to see anyone who complains about him hit anywhere near as many home runs. I hope A-Rod beats the record. I know he admitted to using, but I don't think he was an "addict" like Bonds, McGwire, Sosa, etc. If he beats it, which I think he will, I will be satisfied that he earned it. Better yet, I think Pujols will ultimately break it, and from what I've seen and heard he's never used. He is the best all around hitter, maybe in the top 1-5 of all time.

The case against him was serious enough that just this past year he was tried on charges of perjury and obstruction of justice relating back to a grand jury investigation where Bonds testified in, and was recently convicted on obstruction of justice. Among the testimony was his ex-gf testifying that Bonds, in private, attributed an elbow injury to steroid use

@Sersh162 - Cheating ain't what allowed him to hit home-runs the way he did...whether he did or didn't take steriods...and how many years does it take anyway to confirm someone took roids anyway...his hand/eye coordination is what allowed him to hit all the home runs...Roids may make your body heal faster and 'bulk up', but not a sense for your 'strike zone', nor the ability turn on a Major league fastball! ;-)

If you are on steroids your technique and form do not get better, you do not get faster, you do not gain any sort of skill, your muscles get bigger, athletes get stronger by lifting heavier weights on one day, feeling sore the next day, and packing in protein and carbs.
