I love this song tom....its so great how the song sounds melancholy but is actually a positive tune....you have an amazing ear, able to really wring beautiful vocal lines from stripped down pieces, all the great musicians do that.

Just want to ask, how do you come up with so many song ideas and lyrics to go with them? I'm just starting to do some song writing but having trouble getting any initial ideas down.

well... to be honest, sometimes I'll just hear a melody in my head or start playing something that sounds good... then ill usually hum a melody and the words kind of come to me. To be honest, the songs that I get the best feedback on only took an hour or two to write. I'm very VERY new to songwriting.... and I can use all the pointers I can get.

RARELY do I use normal tuning. This song is an exception. Normally I drop both E strings down to D.
