@JoannaKRock yes. i had one and thats what he did. started humping stuff (not kidding) and then one day he just left and didnt come home. :( i miss him lots.
God if there is one animal i would truly like to have its a Raccoon! In my country its sadly almost impossible to see one outside zoo or some private farm...very very rare..most people dont see them at all ...
Love this video... maybe a little too rough on the little fella... but if he was bothered about it... it would use it's claws or fangs to inform you of it and wouldn't return for more rounds.
Dude WTF???? You are being waaaay too rough with that little animal! It is so obvious that even someone else mentioned it here. Come on man, it's a poor defenseless creature. NOT COOL AT ALL
I've heard they can turn vicious when hitting puberty. A friend brought one up from a little baby, spoiled it rotten, gave it lots of love, but when it hit puberty, it turned vicious and turned on them, like it was posessed. They finally had to call a sanctuary place to come get it when it tore a hole in the wall and was snarling at them. There was nothing they could do, the raccoon acted like it didn't recognize them. VERY cute + gentle when young, but they're still wild animals.
@lavatube11 Wow that's bizarre about them changing at puberty... I mean, even if you raised them to be domesticated from birth, they still revert back to their wild instincts. Bummer cause I was thinking it'd be cool to raise a racoon
It's a shame, because they are sooo adorable. In some states, it's illegal to have one (since it's considered a 'wild animal'). Also, they unfortunately are carriers of a very nasty parasite in their poo, known as the brown worm. It doesn't affect them, but other animals (and humans) can aquire it from raccoons. My friend feeds the raccoons in her back yard with peanut butter mixed with food grade 'diatomaceous earth' to kill their parasites, and it's harmless to the raccoon.
I envy you!!! Because this little fella love you a lot, nice video! thank you for share with the rest of the mortals, Lol! I really enjoy watch this "dangerous raccoon" what is his name?
when im 19 im getting a raccoon i know about the house damages but figured that its worth the fun raccons are dangerouse but if your kind there awesome adopt one its good to
That is the most adorable thing I have ever seen! Woooo, yeah he's real dangerous and threatening! LOL!! What a cutie pie. It's obvious he loves you very, very much! This vid is going to my favorites! I love critters!!
@shortsuff1710 how mean everybody posting god comments im 11 and is posting nice stuff i hope your just kidding because if u r thats fine but i dontthing u r
I wouldn't hate them as much if one wasn't digging in 3 flower pots with blueberry sprouts every single night for an entire MONTH. I thought they were supposed to be intelligent. But even though there's nothing like worms or grubs in it the thing just keeps digging in them. Making a mess. I'm surprised the plants aren't dead yet. Though they may be soon since they were badly mangled last time.
hey we have a problem with a baby raccoon, hes really sweet! and he gets along great with our cats and us. He fell in2 our house from our attic, when the mom got a look at us, she got scared and took the other ones and left. We tryed putting him out yesterday and he was scared and didnt know what 2 do so we let him back in. Every wildlife place we called said they would put him 2 sleep, and the vet said he wont give him shots. Do u have any advice? we love him and want him 2 be safe
He is adorable. Myths hurt tenderhearted humans like this, and their pets way to often. I had a raccoon we called squirt as a pet when I was 11 years old, he slept at the foot of my bed, When I would go to school on the bus he would follow me, and then dash off when the bus door close, and started to move. I was nipped by him when he was rummaging in my toy box, and I am 55 ,almost 56, and I am fine with no Rabies. He also nipped a dog protecting another dog, and dog never got anything
We had two when I was kid out on Long Island. We let the female go back to the wild really young, maybe 3 years old, and the male lived to his 20's and was violent in his old age, especially in mating season.
He isn't abusing the animal! Sheesh, people! I play this way with my cat! If the animal didn't like this treatment, it would be hissing and growling and flashing teeth, but you can see it exposing its belly to the guy. It's not animal abuse!
i got one too, but he has like 4 months and i don't know what to do, he doesn't flash his teeth at me, he stares at me like 30 seconds then lays down, what do i do?
i am very scared of them so.... last week i went camping i yelled and screm like crazy at night tried to get in my tent beacause i stayed up all night hearing the sounds so on the last day the raccon took the marshmellos then my dads friend shot it with a bebe gunnn!!!! SO SCARYYYYYYY
We had a raccoon wandering around for the last few weeks, during the day, he was sick. He was dead today in front of our yard, it was so heartbreaking. They are the cutest little things. I love your pet raccoon, he's the sweetest. :-)
@riverbed2 I'm not criticizing you. You have made your decision and obviously are committed, you couldn't kick him out now anyway. But 99% baby raccoons (and finders) are far better off if the animal is handed over to wildlife rehabbers.
I know how tempting it is to keep a baby raccoon. And it's not impossible. Rabies is actually very uncommon in raccoons. Bites from pet raccoons are usually accidental, or warnings, but can require surgery, hospitalization anyway. Angry attacks are very rare. But fatalities HAVE occurred. Please think it through.
One more detail. Baby raccoons often have worms, a variety that is dangerous to people. You have to be very serious about worming them regularly. Also need distemper shots, again only the right kind. You need a friendly and discreet vet. The regulations have to worked around, so all in all it's a lot of full time work for many years, not a casual whim.
They can be vaccinated, but only use killed vaccine, I forget the details, ask a specialist. They no more rabies than other species. But over age 7 or so they can get dangerously assertive and also not fully aware of their strength. One way or another, it's often ER time, and they ask questions. If you can't manage, you can't just release them, as they'll look for people, get shot, etc. Problems.
lol I don't know about eating him, but I'd drop some hard cash betting he's kissing that coon every chance he gets, off camera, lol. Very cute and clearly you love the fur ball very much, but you wife's laugh was like nails on a chalkboard. Enjoy your unique relationship (with the coon, not your wife.. I'm sure THAT relationship is perfectly normal lol).
They're so cute it's so easy to see why people give in to the temptation to have them as pets. Alas, and sadly, most people realize the mistake when the raccoon gets older. Take it from a farm girl though. He isn't playing too rough. There is nothing in the raccoons posturing that shows any sign of anything but play.
Um you may be "playing" with it, but this is probably considered animal abuse because your constantly grabbing it and it looks like ur hurting it. It tries to bite back and defend it self but your being to rough with it. Don't post videos of you hurting animals because it will only get you in trouble. I don't like this video because it looks like your being intentionally rough and mean to it.
@Toonkitty1 If the raccoon was in any discomfort, it would run. The fact is, this is a raccoon at play. A raccoon at play and a defensive raccoon are two completely different things, and raccoons WILL let the person know if they are uncomfortable or in pain. He/she is fine.
This racoon is adorable and it is obvious he loves how you play with him...'keeps coming back at you for more... I wish I had a relationship like this one with one of these creatures!
@stuart38 They don't "carry" rabies. They sometimes get infected like all other animal types. The infection rate isn't nearly what many in the public think it is. If it were raccoons wouldn't be so prodigious.
@red3here who cares? that cat belonged to a family, that's who cares. better kill them before they kill my cat to. the raccoons arn't innocent by any means.
@sk8forlife90 well mabey u should be looking after your cat better well i got one and it whould never kill a cat and i know it whould kill mabey u should of scared it away by shoting the gun in the air not killing it what makes you any better by killing it it dosint
@red3here it's not about whos better. we live right next to the woods, i can't be watching my cat all the time when it's outside. they were wild raccoons, not pet raccoons. so everything ur saying is just retarded. think a little bit jesus, your situation isn't my situation.
@vaa7791 It looks a little rough but I'm sure he's not playing as hard as it looks. The tail pulling worried me a bit, but li'l raccoon looks just fine.
@vaa7791 animal is enjoying the play if it was to rough or hurting, raccoon would leave or will bite him,but u can clearly see that raccoon is always coming back to play with him, when animal dont want to play anymore or not enjoying it leaves from u,when it comes back and jumping at u it is clearly that he wants to continue playing
Guy, I still think coons are disgusting rodents and you haven't changed my mind with this video. Orphaned or not any"thing" that wears a mask over its eyes and terrorizes people and animals has no place in my home or life. Get one.
@beautiful2ish raccoons aren't rodents, they are procyonids, more closely related to bears & wolves. you have no problem proclaiming your ignorance or choice to remain ignorant on the interwebs, do you?
@beautiful2ish raccoons are not rodents, they do not terrorize or harm people or animals directly, raccoons dont wear masks or are you so ignorant as to believe an animal evolved its facial fur to represent something as primative as a device to hide ones facial features? raccoons have been here before masks were even invented...

red3here 1 year ago
@red3here who cares? that cat belonged to a family, that's who cares. better kill them before they kill my cat to. the raccoons arn't innocent by any means.
sk8forlife90 1 year ago
@sk8forlife90 well mabey u should be looking after your cat better well i got one and it whould never kill a cat and i know it whould kill mabey u should of scared it away by shoting the gun in the air not killing it what makes you any better by killing it it dosint
red3here 1 year ago
@red3here it's not about whos better. we live right next to the woods, i can't be watching my cat all the time when it's outside. they were wild raccoons, not pet raccoons. so everything ur saying is just retarded. think a little bit jesus, your situation isn't my situation.

sonick808 8 months ago
@vaa7791 It looks a little rough but I'm sure he's not playing as hard as it looks. The tail pulling worried me a bit, but li'l raccoon looks just fine.
CrystalChord2010 7 months ago
@vaa7791 animal is enjoying the play if it was to rough or hurting, raccoon would leave or will bite him,but u can clearly see that raccoon is always coming back to play with him, when animal dont want to play anymore or not enjoying it leaves from u,when it comes back and jumping at u it is clearly that he wants to continue playing

Guy, I still think coons are disgusting rodents and you haven't changed my mind with this video. Orphaned or not any"thing" that wears a mask over its eyes and terrorizes people and animals has no place in my home or life. Get one.
beautiful2ish 1 year ago
@beautiful2ish raccoons aren't rodents, they are procyonids, more closely related to bears & wolves. you have no problem proclaiming your ignorance or choice to remain ignorant on the interwebs, do you?
ringtailroxy 1 year ago
@beautiful2ish raccoons are not rodents, they do not terrorize or harm people or animals directly, raccoons dont wear masks or are you so ignorant as to believe an animal evolved its facial fur to represent something as primative as a device to hide ones facial features? raccoons have been here before masks were even invented...

if the raccoon wasn't enjoying it, he'd run away. I'm now thinking of investing in my own raccoon, or a fox.
