I just want to say that this vid remains one of my favourite tributes to the most charismatic civil aircraft that I have ever flown in. Night flights from Moscow to Nizhnevartovsk in these beauties, descending in the early hours into the well head flare inferno of central Siberia, having been lullabyed all the way with the syncopated rhythym of the glorious Soloviev triplets... something else, I've got to tell you.
Note: As soon as this guy rotates, he's off! These babies have so much ground effect with their anhedrals, you can't keep 'em on the ground, no wonder they have to pop the reversers to get 'em down.
Now let me see, what is the most sensuous and exciting commercial aircraft to travel in ever... scratches head... begins with a T... seem to remember being in one a few times when descending into that strange world of midnight black, flarestack orange Siberia... hey, what do I know compared with Americans, I only experienced perfect flights and landings in these 'stupid dumbass' Russian aircraft about 30 times. Long live America and its open minded citizens.
Not all Americans are xenophobic chauvinists. I have worked with Russian engineers and graduate students, off and on, for years. They are competent, serious, reliable, and friendly. They are very good at math & physics, which may be one reason why Russians have designed so many high performance aircraft. For example, many American astronauts trust their lives to the world's most reliable space launch system: Soyuz TMA.
@bboucharde Point taken, bboucharde, and apologies to decent Americans (in my experience some of the greatest people in the world are American, and yes... I'm sorry... some of the worst, but the decent guys outnumber the idiots, thank God)
I love the sound of these engines :)

Seems to me he really overshot the threshold.
