Actually, modern cars (all modern cars) are designed with front and rear crumple zones to absorb the energy released in an accident. The passenger compartment is stiffened to protect the passengers. In this case, the prius did exactly as designed, the crumple zone absorbed the impact, and the passenger compartment maintained its integrity. Look carefully, the windshield didn't even crack!

i'm with windstar pro. i've successfully used a diesel running biofuel made out of waste chip oil and the growing of the plants to make the oil puts 02 in the air, but that is waste oil that would have otherwise had to have been dumped. Diesels rock. A small mod would enable use of raw veg oil. A 7.3L PowerStroke is sure going to need a lot of used veggie oil, used motor oil, kerosine, etc, though it will definitely get over the piles of skulls + rubble and away from the attacking zombies :)
If it's just a fender-bender, then there's no problem. If it's much worse (like frame and mechanical damage) then you're stuck with the risk of having a car that won't look or run as great as it did before the wreck (salvage title). As a matter of fact don't be surprised to be paying for costly repairs in the long run that seem to mysteriously come out of the blue.
I still would drive one though, because their still making them and I don't see how it have those type of problems. The only problem I have with it is cheap material, and its small weak/unsafe size.

We own one and it does nothing well. Doesn't accelerate, doesn't handle, doesn't stop well. The only reason we have one is that I lost a battle. I wanted a Golf TDI or BMW 335D

Actually, modern cars (all modern cars) are designed with front and rear crumple zones to absorb the energy released in an accident. The passenger compartment is stiffened to protect the passengers. In this case, the prius did exactly as designed, the crumple zone absorbed the impact, and the passenger compartment maintained its integrity. Look carefully, the windshield didn't even crack!

most of you assholes are blind. That 4wd/SUV has a high clearance compared to the Prius not to mention it is also much heavier. The prius faired extremely well considering it has a short nose and a solid front. Because the engine bay is so compact, the engine actually moves under the monocoque on impact. People who disregard the Prius are like rednecks fucking their moms. They don't fuckin care, so long as they get the pussy.

i'm with windstar pro. i've successfully used a diesel running biofuel made out of waste chip oil and the growing of the plants to make the oil puts 02 in the air, but that is waste oil that would have otherwise had to have been dumped. Diesels rock. A small mod would enable use of raw veg oil. A 7.3L PowerStroke is sure going to need a lot of used veggie oil, used motor oil, kerosine, etc, though it will definitely get over the piles of skulls + rubble and away from the attacking zombies :)

If it's just a fender-bender, then there's no problem. If it's much worse (like frame and mechanical damage) then you're stuck with the risk of having a car that won't look or run as great as it did before the wreck (salvage title). As a matter of fact don't be surprised to be paying for costly repairs in the long run that seem to mysteriously come out of the blue.
