Tying Davie's Tan Caddis by Davie McPhail .

Hi Davie have you got to use the bugbond on the tan caddis or could you use something else.Love the videos ,ive learned so muchfrom watching all your clips cheers again. Garry

Hi Garry(refrik1),

No you don't have to use the bug-bond, a thinned down varnish does but it makes it slighly stiffer, other than that a good pair of wing quills like hen pheasant works well too...

Just thought you'd like to know that this fly was deadly up at Tarbolton the other day!

5 Fish in one hour, all fell to Your tan caddis!

The fish were taking snails when I put it on and instantly got one. My mate and I both got one on the very first cast!

Have you tried Tiemco Dry Magic for CDC? It's amazing stuff. It's like Gink for CDC. It's an awesome pretreatment and then I just brush up with Frogs Fannie as needed. Definitely check it out if you haven't already.

The parcel came yesterday and that's me only getting a chance to really have a look due to working late last night and early today, the fur is an excellent dubbing I'll have to think carefully what I'm going to do with it and also the small skin which I'm sure I'll use just as it is for a few nymphs a big thankyou again..Have the members picked a fly yet for me to tye?

Is there another type of glue to use on feather wings or maybe flexible head cement. Great pattern as always.

Floo Glue is a flexible cenment but you could use a varnish as long as you put it on lightly as I did with the Bug-Bond...

I have about another four patterns here on youtube which I have used foam on, if you search through my list on the main channel page then you should find them, I will be tying other patterns in the future I'm sure with foam..I'm glad you liked the fly...
