On top gear's track the stig made 1'28'' with the CSL (slick tires and dry track). With the 360 CS made 1'25'' (standard pirelli Pzero and wet track!!!!!!!). Furthermore that track is not the best to underline the difference in top speed between the two cars. On the nuerburgring german test drivers are very more expert...

The CSL did the Top Gear track in the wet with Semi Slicks... the CS did it with normal tyres. The semi slicks are FAR worse in the wet then everyday tyres.

First, i like girls.

Second, it was not raining during cls time, the track was not dry but of course not wet.

Third the pzero corsa rosso can give a good performance only over 100 celsius degrees, and with a wet track you'll never reach that temperature. The cls is a masterpece, but it's just stupid to compare it with the cs about performance, there is no game.

Michelin Cups are not slicks, they are soft compound road legal racing tyres. They absolutly do not work until hot. The top gear power lap was damp and as suck the CSL would probably have gone faster on standard Michelin ps2's. In the dry the Cups would be much faster.

HOW SHAME!!! The best of Ferrari gets trashed by a simple 4passngr BMW. 2400lb/425hp VS 3050lb/360hp. BMW > Ferrari. So M3 is a beeter car than F360.

Or here is the data: e46 M3csl = 3050LB, 355hp, 256hp per tone vs 360CS = 2598LB, 420hp, 356hp per tone. 100hp/tone different and still BMW wins. What I know, among all cars by (weight per tone), this M3 is fastest, most powerful & best handling car ever engineered. Next closest comes Porsche 996 GT3rs, about 278hp/tone and is 1-second faster 7:49. Lambo-Murcielago is same 7:50, but has 345hp/tone. You can do more research...

Could you think that e46 M3csl will kick Ferrari's very special 360CS??? Of course not, well YES, 7:50 vs 7:56; Actually M3csl is faster than: ALL Ferraris, except Enzo & maybe F50. All Mercedeses & Audis, 95% Lambos, Rest of the world, only Porsches(996) GT3rs, GT2, C-GT, Zonda are faster, & they are much lighter & got more hp/tq...
