The battle between good and evil over purgatory. Basically, Gabriel is the last of the light to continue the fight, although as you will see in the movie, that is not entirely true.

This movie was ok. It didn't make much sense and the dialogs were full of cliches (if I had a penny every time a movie villain said "we are the same you and I"...) but that's not what people look for in a movie like this anyway. The casting and character design were ok and the acting was good enough. Some of the hand to hand fighting didn't feel real and honestly the martial arts choreographies were pretty uninspired but overall it was enjoyable.

he has "powers" which he draws from the source but the more he uses the source the weaker the connection gets and it draws the fallen angels to him. the battle is on earth and since they are on earth they are trying not to draw to much attention to themselves so they use guns. i know its kinda confusing but you would have to see it.

He still possesses angelic abilities although he refrains from using them so he does not draw attention to himself (the Fallen can sense if he does use them, also he becomes weaker as he uses them). Seriously people, there are many way to interpret this movie! I love the creative license/spin they put in the movie as a whole. It'd be interesting if this were a series, Purgatory as the playing field for souls.

I was impressed with this film because I expected something cliche but instead found a film that took the better elements from noir/urban fantasy films and reinvented it. This film has so much potential to set up prequels. I'm curious about Ametiel(sp?) and that whole plot.

Gabriel's role is the Messenger or Voice of God.

This movie would make more sense if it was Michael because Michael is the one that through Satan out of Heaven. And he's the commander of the Army of the Lord. He's basically God's general. And after throwing Satan out, took his place in that role.
