I've known 2 creationists personally. They are creationists because they were brought up creationists. When asked how evolution worked they didn't know. When asked how various forms of radioactive dating were done, they didn't know. So basically they are against 2 things they know nothing about. This is typical of these fundamentalists. They don't have a clue what they are evn arguing against and have no interest in knowing either. They want to live in their own little bubbles.
wtb a new bible plz god. Can you update it. Its kinda getting out of date =( plz add some science tuff in it too
Could you give the new advanced version with a dozen newer commandments such as: You may not use a nuclear bomb for fun. or You may not disprove my evolution process, cuz I decided to give free will to te cells and genes.
Convincing, however(not the slam-your-fist-into-your-palm kind, the calmly-explaining-to-them-the-proof-for-something-and-watch-them-say-"Oh, I get it!"kind.) on the other hand is A-Ok!
It was right to fire her "IF" she was flat-out telling students that it is wrong to believe in creationism. Why, you may ask? Because it is WRONG to FORCE kids into believing what YOU deem to be true, unless that kid is your young child. Even though I am a Christian, I believe it is wrong to force a student into believing in God. The reason I believe that is wrong, is because forcing someone to believe God is real does nothing good for them.
what is wrong with a kid hearing both sides? This lady should teach her ideas in a school that agrees and wants her ideas. And not teach in a school that doesn't want her ideas. It should be possible for each belief system to have their own schools, but to take out praying is wrong. Why can't I pray? But I must raise my hand to my heart for a flag of a wicked nation and use God's name. Rediculous. The bible teaches against this.
The NCSE's phone number is a 510 area code which is in california and more specifically the east bay region of the san francisco bay area, which happens to be where I live. Are they headquartered here? Their website was little help. This is definitely the kind of organization I would want to support.
Rogue there isn't even any debate amongst biologists on whether creationism is valid. It has already been undermined of all credibility. You won't find any peer-reviewed scientific papers published in the field. It's almost exclusively guesswork and speculation by laymen like Kent Hovind.
Name ONE positive argument for creationism. And I mean not just "the evidence for evolution was all faked or misinterpreted or coincidense", cause even if any of that were true, it wouldn't prove that evolution isn't true after all (lack of proof is not disproof) nor would it go anywhere NEAR proving creationism is true.

Creationism would prove somebody 'is in charge', you're being watched. If evolution wasn't thought up the world would have been a much better place, now that people are mislead to the idea that they can do whatever they want, they think they're unable to get punished. With Christianity these things would happen much less likely. Besides, creationism isn't "provable". We have the Bible, we see intelligent design all arround the universe, thats all we have and we believe it, get used to it.
I actually didn't mean "why it's good if we believe it", but "why we know it's true".
Still: Evolution doesn't cause immoral behaviour. If I want to commit evil deeds, I only needs to believe God will forgive me, God sends everyone to heaven anyway, or even better, God approves of the things I'm doing.
Or else: maybe a God designed the universe, but that God no longer exists or whatever.
To go from "the universe was designed" to "there are rules we need to follow" is a huge leap.

The BIBLE is evidence for nothing. The Bible is an ancient book written by people who had not the slightest understanding of science.
