My friend went to a Ranger game last night, and he brough up that even though the Garden was packed, he was surprised at how many people looked like they were coming from work or didn't have any Ranger gear on.

Devils games, on the other hand... Even though the Rock isn't always full, at least three-quarters of the crowd is Devils jerseys, and the other quarter consists of fans maybe with a Devils shirt or hat on.

Loser fans are and have nothing on devil fans so you use my comments with a twist. and the puck drops at "another sold out game here at MSG" but for some strange reason half the seats are empty! maybe if we play the game in 3D we'll attract little kids!

Many in the hockey media have taken note that while the Devils don't sell out every game, about 99% of those in the stands on any given night are diehards who wear some sort of Devils gear.

Oh, and it's actually rumored that Jimmy Dolan buys the remaining seats so he can announce 18,200, a sellout at MSG... And I wouldn't be surprised at all if that were true.

@pacmanghostx -- it really wouldn't surprise me at all. i've been to the garden at least 50 times and i never have a problem sneaking down to any of the thousands of empty red seats that are given away to the no nothing suits and ties hockey fans. the garden hasn't had a full house since the 1997 playoffs with gretz. comparing the amount of suits and ties at the garden to the rock is like looking for a needle in a haystack. if there is one at the rock there are 200 at msg.
