The only reason I didn't like this game was the sickeningly slow gameplay. It would have been much better if not for that.

Oh my god. I remember playing this at the age of 4! FOUR!!! FUCKING FOUR!!!! I had this on a game card which said "Volume 2" which had other games like Probotector, Gradius and Frogger. Ahhhh, so many memories

wow, that's the first time I actually see the colored version. Feels like a completely different game. They did an awesome job with the coloring. Although I myself would also prefer the old b/w version over this one for reasons of authenticity. And I agree. This game is very underappreciated.

Ahh I remember this game when I was a kid, I liked it and thought it was fun, but I never got past the first boss X). So I gave up on Castlevania till Sotn.

I like the music. It is good. In two weeks, Konami will be releasing a total remake of this game on the wiiware. In weeks in Japan but hopefully the US will get a release date as well.

i have the non-coloured version of this game... with colour it looks like a happy green zombie place. O_O i think i prefer that though, black and white is boring and stuff.

btw, i dont think the speed differs alot, its still REAAALLLY SLOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOW. -.-

@iCheesesMS your version proboly isnt non coloured, do you play it on a gameboy xp? cause if colour dosen't come up on an xp then I guess you do have the non coloured version

was stage 3 and 4 lol! Owned this game for

like 7yrs and still can't past stage 2.

Ya i tried this one and the older version on the original gameboy i swear to god the music got slightly slowed down on the color version I died twice on the color version the older one bout 5 million

You play this game in a way similar to me. This game gets all the hate for the NON-Color version. Why? Well, they fixed some stuff in the color version. Walking speed is waaaaay faster, there are some candles that included hearts that have been re-located. Also,the treatment that this game recieved in terms of remaking...is just awesome,being the first Konami collection for gbc,they took a lot of time coloring the games(how i wish they had taken the same time for the Vol.4, which includes CV2BR)
