@1800levso - We have a language like that. It's called Esperanto, and almost everyone has rejected it as pointless because we already have so many languages. In any case, we should be able to have true translation devices in the near future.

@1800levso that seems highly unnecessary and to me, seems like it would only further the time scientist waste on useless projects, If english is already getting universal then why not let it be.. it may not be the greatest language out there but its a simple one and as we complicate our lives and technologies thats the type of language we are going to need. not that im trying to back up english cuz even for me english is my second language and so i understand how it takes away parts of identity

@1800levso I don't understand why scientists have to come up with a new language other than English? Your argument about something accepting every culture makes no sense. A type I language is a language that would be concise and well established. English has over 1.5 million words, it is a composite language that adopts words from various other languages ie; Latin and French and is still growing. It is also the first language to become "standardised" in the 18th century.

@Scientologeist33: Nice try at some sort of cosmic alliteration. Unfortunately, the Sun has a hydrogen core that is slowly being turned into helium. Eventually it will begin to convert the helium to carbon. That's about the end of the line for Sol; a heavier star would fuse heavier and heavier elements up to iron, but it would also explode when it got there into a supernova. So, alas, you are wrong.
