  • this and indian summer classic

  • DRUGS LOL

  • hey yongsters and chillwavers outthere you missed something back in the days greetz from switzerland i m still alive and doin so

  • you can definitely hear how spectrum influenced MGMT! love it

  • Did Arctic Monkeys copy this video!?

  • @MastersMusicTV it kind of reminds me of "dont sit down cause I moved your chair". but there's enough difference for it not to be a huge deal

  • that video is trippy lol

  • whoever made this video is a fucking genius.

  • @beatles5445 looks like one of Douglas Harts from mary chain

  • i think it was Bobby Gillespie you're pertaining to...Doug Hart had waves of hair....

  • @behindthespecs i meant it looks like one of Douglas 's videos as in 'made by'..dont fink BG made vids

  • great evie sands cover version!!!!

  • sometimes i don't like repetition, but i like the repetitive nature of this song

  • Relic

  • what album is this from?

  • @blueguitarist How You Satisfy Me EP

  • Arctic Monkeys new video... I see Turner has watched this haha.

  • Spectrum are playing on Wednesday 20 April, 2011 at Bottom Lounge, Chicago! :)

  • Love this video!

  • more people need to listen to pete's stuff , i was 19 when i first heard spacemen 3 ,im 40 now and still listening to his output

  • I didn't know Justin Bieber was a twee shoegazer back in the late 80s...

  • Spectrum still rules and kills Spiritualized

  • These guys are drinking their brains!

  • So good.

  • Vox Starstream........how you satisfy me

  • I miss this kind of music so much....good ol'times....

  • i love the way this song goes into and comes out of the chorus. that and everything else about it

  • spectrum > spiritualized

  • @fruitbatrepublic Never!!! :-)

  • good stuff, are they brits or from usa?

  • @martin77mdp these blokes? british.

  • @martin77mdp

they're brits. the leader is peter kember aka sonic boom. he was in the legendary group spacemen 3 with jason pierce aka jason spaceman.

  • what album dis from?

  • r. tape loading error (c.)

    Top tune

  • @Kaaaaaattiiee Hell yeah! I was there the Saturday, great night for the music.

  • I gonna see him for the first time

    tomorrow, in Rennes, France

    I v'e been a fan since "Revolution"

  • @harybosco

Its a bloody shame that people don't love him. I was at MGMT a few days ago and everyone was outside during Spectrum's' performance. But when you think about it, though I love MGMT and MBV, he is far superior in my eyes for going so much further out through repetition. I guess some people can stand his one chord per gig ethos (The whole show was played in a continuous E. Brilliant stuff!)

  • @yahoosmoofoo2 MGMT @ The Olympia?

  • Comment removed

  • what are the lyrics for this song ?

  • love the video production on anything spacemen and early post spacemen related

  • this is the music we need, this is for real FOR THE MUSIC

  • Seguimos con los exitos musicales de ayer y hoy!

  • when i saw MBV in Santa Monica a couple years back...fucking Sonic Boom opened to my surprise. I, of course, was blown away, but the crowd was not into him at all. It was saddening. One guy (of age) even told me he went outside because he hates Sonic Boom. I mean I expect a large % of MBV "Fans" to not enjoy since they don't even have a good reason to be at the show other than MBV are a band they're supposed to like, but I figured some of the older guys would be blown away. just the opposite

  • this is amazing

  • Just became a big fan or Sonic Boom/Spacemen 3!!!

  • Comment removed

  • my brother Alex Hancock was in this band for a while.

  • @chrisisbest04 i dont believe u

  • @chrisisbest04

Hallo! I remember your brother Alex Hancock very well, when he released Spectrum album with the transparent cover with jelly inside! It should have been 1991...what is he doing now?I really love what he did back in those years...My biggest respect to him!

  • saw these guys live so good

  • Honely I Love you.....

    Honey I neeeedd youu... !

  • Pure awesomeness

  • killer tune!

  • How my honey satisfies me is of the grooviest kind ever!! I Love You Baby!! This is music that gets into one's soul;-)

  • peter kember is a fucking genius

  • Psychedelic, very intense... great song

  • People who listen to this will save music !!!

  • I prefer Evie Sands, "I Can't Let Go", although, this is great nonetheless. 5 stars!

  • SPECTRASONIC. :)

  • spectrum

  • it's 'sianspheric'... they're from hamilton, ontario! and BAD ASS!

  • this is the kind of song i'd like a hot girl to put on a mixed cd for me. brilliant stuff!

  • @slantedsoul id kill to find a hot girl who like spectrum or spacemen

  • @robinmccready

You'd choose better your girl friends. I'm an "hot girl" who love sonic boom, spectrum and spacemen3 :p...

  • @touciceJuanovsky

    *Freind request sent* haha

  • @slantedsoul I think if a hot girl were to ever put music on a cd for you it would be justin beiber or lady doodoo

  • @animalmother4 : i think your perceiption of "Hot girls" might be a bit warped.

  • @LeaYdwI haha I'm just saying thats why girls listen to. I dont know too many girls with good tastes now adays

  • @animalmother4: I'm a girl. I love Spectrum. My boyfriend doesn't, although he does have a rather decent taste in music (though he doesn't shoegaze or space rock, he's more the Dylan/Led Zep kind of guy). While it's true that the avarage girl has a shit taste in music, the same goes for guys. Right, the stereotype girl might listen to Lady Gaga, while the stereotype guy listens to some Gangsta rap. Same thing.

  • @LeaYdwI Your right, but most people wouldn't listen to this genre of music, its to esoteric.

  • @LeaYdwI My boyfriend doesn't like this either. He's more into metal, although he does like MBV, but who doesn't?

  • @KtotheY77 your BF is a mental midget. 85% of Metal dudes are fucktards. so many unevolved worthless scum out there.

  • @slantedsoul a mixed tape sounds even better

  • @slantedsoul Never gonna happen though

  • absolutely beautiful. this is what we need. people who listen to this kind of stuff will save music.

  • @tracksuitjim

save music from what? the black man? Fucking idiot.

  • @lesigint dude fuck you lol i was jus talking about how music doesnt seem to possess the same kind of passion, and i was speaking in general terms, not referring to everything.

dont insult me cause you clearly misunderstand something i said. like wtf, i dont even get where that came from lol

  • @tracksuitjim

You know very well where it came from. Take a good look at yourself.

  • @lesigint lol sorry, i didnt realize i put my whole personality and c haracter in one youtube comment.

you sound like an asshole lol

  • Comment removed

  • @tracksuitjim

haha...he really sound like an ass.

  • @lesigint fuck you bell end

  • @tracksuitjim funny you should mention -- Panda Bear of Animal Collective lists it as a personal fave ...

  • Listen the Britta Phillips version, it's wonderful !!!

  • do you call this shoegaze? no thumbs down please, im asking

  • I would also call this shoegaze, but it don`t really matters, it`s a great tune!

  • I think "shoegaze" refers to the kind of preformance put on live... like if bandmembers aren't much of preformers and they tend to just stand there, looking at the ground playing their instruments. I could be wrong though.

Just found this band! Love it, 5 stars.

  • it's a genre of music as well, not just a performance style.

  • definitely, not shoegaze :)

    (no thumbs down, i'm answering)

  • it's all very 60's psych garage band + the motorik of krautrock filtered thru the 90's.

I love this song, but does anyone think it's funny he's singing to himself in a mirror?

  • It's modern psychedelic rock and roll OK!

  • Ah psychedelia at its best!!

  • thanks again pete.

  • thank you sonic boom!!!

  • unfuckunbelievable. if i think of the shite that we're listening to these days...must see them in concert.

  • Too right asd. Your sentiments about music today are echoed. [Although, I'm not listening to much these days actually]

Hey, how come they don't offer TEN stars for this track??!!!

  • 17 you're not listening too much these days?! pity there's a lot out there. anyway i suggest you check out: slowdive by slowdive. or everso by the telescopes. or vapour trail by ride. or phoenix of my heart by xymox. or cut # 2 by adorable. i could go on but i don't want to bore you. listen and enjoy. take care 17...

  • Slowdive - Slowdive!!! A Man of my own heart. Not enough people know of this song.

  • people know shit. i'm in tears, there's someone out there that knows slowdive. if you get the chance listen to some psianspehric. and if you want to hear something recent and simply fucking amazing listen to the big pink - dominos.

    ciao

  • I just finished listening to Big Pink's "Dominos" and I fell in love with it. Thank you for the recommendation and for Psiansehric. =)

  • it looks so simple.

    brilliant!!!

  • isnt spectrum just kember?

  • sick. i luv it. reminds me of the velvet underground.

  • i agree

  • I just saw Spectrum in Paris, what a blast !!

    sexiest music ever

  • Great show.. nice small venue.. gahhh i love them

  • What are the names of the members of the bands and what did they do?

  • If you're asking about Spectrum, Peter Kembler (aka Sonic Boom) is the name of the lead singer. He was part of Spacemen 3 with Jason Pierce. When Spacemen broke up, Pierce formed Spiritualized and Kembler formed Spectrum. Check out the interview in the sidebar.

  • KEMBLER? ahaha he'd love that...i'll tell him about that next time i see him...fool

  • We play w/ them on the 16th in Brussel

    Yipeeeeeeeeeeeeee!

  • Fro those interested, we are bringing over Spectrum to St Sebastian in Spain on the 26th of March: full band + Spacemen 3 gems ...

  • Great song! It's based off of Evie Sands' "I Can't Let Go."

  • Legend.

  • tuuuune, im going to see them soon :)

  • grew up with this music.. love it

  • really cool song...

  • trippy XD

  • congratulations. today this video was selected by the NYC Punk Rock Evolution Foundation.

  • I'm sitting in my monitor watching...:0

  • did someone say...trippy as hell??

    wonderous.

  • makes me feel so excited... oh fuck! fantastic

  • I totally agree oh er..

  • I'm going to see them next saturday. I can wait, it's gonna be awesome!!!

  • Yeahhh!! Sonic is the master!!!

  • spectrum='WHITE LIGHT,'WHITE HEAT',

  • yep, all the indie rock, of the 80's, in fact

  • Great tune. wonder if he ever got sued for ripping off "I cant let go"

  • I don't know if he ever got sued for ripping it off, but he proudly admits it. Read the "Spacelines" liner notes. It's a compilation he put out with some of the tracks both Spacemen 3 and Spectrum covered or ripped off:

    ww w. soni c-boom.i nfo/spaceli nes.php

  • ha! Nice!

  • amazing ! this is a real Indie track , can't believe they dare calling the music of Camden - Indie , babyshambles and all this shit - i wanna vomit !

thanx god we got sonic and his gang

  • I think Britta's version is great, myself.

  • Britta Phillips' version is appaling - she sucked all the urgency and energy out of it. It's like listening to someone's mom singing a psych classic. In Macy's. She's a soccer mom wannabe.....

  • HHAHHAHAHHAHAH!!!

  • yeah sonic is the man!

    he is also my uncle

  • Really?

  • yes

    really

  • Cool. The guy does some good shit.

  • sonic is the man

  • Woah....I think I just had a siezure!

  • Vox guitars.....So very beautiful!

  • Phillips' cover is better.

  • I feel like a mushroom!

  • PLEASE does anyone know the bass guitar tabs to this?

  • looks like an unending A chord dude

  • Anyone know the guitar chords for this song, pleaaaaaase? I know they're simple, but what are they?

  • Trippy!

  • the hollies have also a cover of this song. the original is in compilation called space lines published by munster records. A very sweet song.

    Fucking great stuff.

  • it's not really this song, the hollies do "I Can't Let Go" which Eva Sands did, Sonic just stole the keyboard part

  • luved the spinnin cover with this album..lol trippy

  • he definetely carried on where spacemen 3 left off, where jason pierce went a slightly different direction whcih i wasn't all that into. does anyone know if sonic boom lives in la now? i hear of him doing dj gigs every now and then.
