Social distortion have always been overrated but their new album is really pure crap, I've heard samples of it and I really can't stand it, I can barely tolerate their older stuff but they do not age well, this song is really pissing me off, it's so awful, his influences suck. He really needs to come up with new subject matter, he's been talking about being dragged through hell for many albums now, Good Bye Social Distortion, truly for trendy mainstream boring folks.

It's not your job to tell me otherwise, yeah I do have my opinion and also about this song, I think I should be able to post it. Does me not liking this song keep you from paying bills? But it matters a little bit to you cos you reply. So the issue is really about censorship. You're not happy until I listen to all forms of music when that's not how I feel at all.

I know its terrible to say but when I was living in Italy and whenever this song came on the radio it reminded me of "The Clap" in the film Get to the Greek...I still think it sounds like Russel brandt is the lead singer of this band.. no offence to those who like it :D
The idea you compare a basic rock 'n roll song to a billion bands that have played this style and yet you ascribe the style to one band is dumb as heck. If you listen to enough rock 'n roll you wouldn't say things like, "rolling stones anyone?" You would say, "ROCK 'N ROLL ANYONE?" Or at least say "EVERY BLACK BLUES MUSICIAN THOSE BANDS COPIED?" :) Music doesn't have to be put on a list. It's art. It's not a competition.
The whole album is great in it's own way, however I was kind of hoping for a little more thunderous guitar punch on this release. Oh well thank good Pyschopunch delivered with 'The last Goodbye"

I read all this criticism about this being a rip off of the Stones. I agree and I love it! Ness needed to change it up a bit. No doubt you can hear the Stones (including "all down the line" in the lyrics) but it sounds great. Rockin' tune and album...Diamond in the Rough is a great tune too.
@jsd10110 I've read somewhere that Ness wanted to see how a stones tune would sound if it was done by SD. I think they prettty much nailed it, and the "all down the line" part is just too cool, over the top, but still...

@sonicadv27 that's your personal taste, alright... some bands manage to please a lot of people with a shitty song if they got a certain image, and if the singer's got a characteristic voice - that's the way it goes, i can see that. still, this song's nothing more than an uninspired "brown sugar" rip-off that most anyone who can hold a guitar could write in 5 minutes. and if you can't see that - no matter if you like this song and SD or not - you're a fool.

@fwball ok so now i'm obligated to like the Stones and not this song... I personally find most of the 60's bands overrated as hell, and the Stones are definitly one of those. They're good, no doubt about it, but i can't see how can this song be that bad when compared to the Stonesm that's being pseudo-intelectual, in my opinion...
And no music can be defined or rated by how easy it is to compose it or not... In many cases simplicity is your friend.

I like the female gospel singers in the background and how it speeds up at the end...the gospel girls are even better on "Can´t Take It With You" from the same album. The new album is awesome!
