  • Like the song but a total rip off of Chris Rea "Working on it". Social D is better than that!

  • what the hell happened to Social D? This band isn't nearly as good as it was in 1983

  • @1truemisfit Go see them live and then come back and talk.

Heck, if you are in the front row he might spit on you lol.

  • @1truemisfit Yo, u go be tr00 punk somewhere ells, ok? :) were trying to enjoy the evolution of social d.

  • @123davy321 Elvis would be one of the proudest to take this band as hes right hand

  • @123davy321 i agree that social d is awesome... but comparing to elvis? the king? its like comparing coldplay to the beatles, yes they are awesome and pioneers, but its the beatles

  • @brianmaietta elvis is overrated the true king of rock was buddy holly

  • I GOT A LITTLE CHANGE IN MY POCKET GOING JINGALINGALANG.....

  • awesome !!!

  • Awesome seeing the band perform this at Guitar Center Web site

  • now this is real music.

  • when you guys coming to Vancouver....for some California Hustle and flow???? IM ALL IN!

  • On a lighter note, I love this entire album, but this song just hits it out of the park! Social D. is really showing where their music came from in this song!

  • Jammin Bastards !!!!!! Rock on !!!!!!!!

  • @PhantomRider79 go smoke a turd crybaby.

  • @PhantomRider79

And what do you listening to that all these "trendy mainstream boring folks" should tune into?

  • @sutterkain555666 It doesn't matter, those kind of people will not like what I'm into, they won't listen. I do not run into those kind of people at shows, they do not exist.

  • @PhantomRider79 I'll have to side with sutter and pitbull on this one mate. I'll add my two cents in as you being a punk ass "hipster" crybaby because Social Distortion has always wrote pure songs about their lives and experiences over the years. If they were such "crap" then how in the hell have they made music this long. Go somewhere else with your poor trollin'. Maybe go listen to some JB or Jessica Black and stay away from what real music is =)

  • @TheLawlstar I do stay away from "real" music cos it keeps me away from people like you. I'm not a hipster but you can't believe social distortion is writing music from the heart, anybody can make music this long, that's not a big deal. You need to stop looking up at the stars. I just don't worship idols, you can call individualism and opinions trollin' but fact remains, not the whole world likes social distortion, get over it, you sound like a crybaby to me.

  • @PhantomRider79 If you're basically referring to listening to newer artists and what not that's not the issue here. The issue is with you coming here and trying to say that this music sucks. It doesn't really matter what you think. You have you're opinion on what music should sound like, and the people that like Social D. have there's. I'm a big fan of all forms of music from power pop to black metal, just gotta keep an open mind and ears. I hope that you can finally see that "real" is relative.

  • @TheLawlstar The issue is with me being an independent person being honest about how I feel about this band, album. It's not your job to tell me otherwise, yeah I do have my opinion and also about this song, I think I should be able to post it. Does me not liking this song keep you from paying bills? But it matters a little bit to you cos you reply. So the issue is really about censorship. You're not happy until I listen to all forms of music when that's not how I feel at all.

  • @PhantomRider79 As I said on the other video, I tip my hat to you. I was having a little fun going back and forth with ya, but sadly I know when I'm bested. Verbal sparring on two pages = fail on my part I suppose lol. Look forward to a rematch! =)

  • @TheLawlstar Well this was unexpected but yes, it's always fun. A rematch, lol, how would that go? Is this the start of a new friendship?

  • @PhantomRider79 Why was it so unexpected? And how would it got? Who knows, I suppose we'll figure that one out when it comes to that. It just might be, who knows. =P

  • @TheLawlstar It was unexpected because it was. Well I suppose it could go too far, to the point of me being blocked on this page perhaps, hmm, but not to get off topic, a rematch would be funny? Isn't this how all friendships start?

  • @PhantomRider79 Well being blocked from the page would be no fun, but I wouldn't do that even if it got "heated" because this is a battle of wits and opinions not something petty like right or wrong. Opinions lack the ability of being right or wrong, am I right? This is how many of my friendships have started or of similar fashion lol and hell the "rematch" could be nothing more than a discussion on another video, not even a difference of opinions, but a common ground found.

  • @TheLawlstar I got this comment late, I think my computer has viruses. I know it's hard to believe but I've been blocked from pages before, cool, yes, I know it is. True it wouldn't have gone that far, very true. Mostly wits on my part, lol. Opinions are like unwanted friends but they break in the house somehow, duct tape you to something then piss all over you, hah, except for mine, I have manners. Well that's just an opinion about opinions lacking the ability to be right or wrong.

  • @PhantomRider79 -If you knew anything about music you asscrack , you would know that Mike Ness and the boys write from the heart about their lives and the covers they do are of true musicians turmoils that they feel they have felt too. Get a grip on music quality. You are probably a Justin Bieber fan..Fuckin Idiot

  • @drtywteboy Yeah. you're so right, I shouldn't have an opinion at all and just close my eyes and smile, be happy brainwashed. La De Da, social distortion are the only ones who have hardship.

  • @drtywteboy You should check out her page, I made the same joke about Justin Bieber and I was very wrong. Its all walks of punk and that general area lol

  • @TheLawlstar "I was wrong"

  • @PhantomRider79 Hrrm?

  • @TheLawlstar It's a social distortion song. My attempt at ruining your response cos i'm so funny.

  • @PhantomRider79 That made no sense lol

  • @TheLawlstar You said you were wrong.

  • @PhantomRider79 Unless I see the comment, then I'll never admit to that =P

  • @TheLawlstar Oh there's a comment, flies right over your head.

  • @PhantomRider79 -looks around- Nope, still haven't seen it

  • @TheLawlstar Well, You need to stop masturbating then. I know that'll be hard.

  • @PhantomRider79 How do my masturbation habits come into play here?

  • @TheLawlstar Cos you can't see, You're going blind.

  • @PhantomRider79 If I was going blind then I wouldn't be able to see what it is that I'm responding to.

  • @TheLawlstar Don't even act like you don't. You're not fully blind yet, duh. Temporarily blind. It's embarrassing I have to explain this to you.

  • @PhantomRider79 What was that? I couldn't see it to respond to it.

  • @TheLawlstar Well I guess that's that then.

  • @PhantomRider79 What's what then?

  • @TheLawlstar ARRRG !!! !!!

  • @PhantomRider79 Mental breakdown? o.O

  • @TheLawlstar I ate ice cream too fast.

  • @PhantomRider79 Ouch, that's no good, but it is good at the same time...

  • @TheLawlstar ::shakes fist::

  • This is great rock'n'roll, honky tonk boogie sound....as only the big they can do !

  • Can't wait to take this song surfing with me...waterproof mp3 player...perfect! One of social D's best to date if you ask me!

  • 3 People needs to be executed!!!!!! How you can't love this song? It's a riddle!

  • Awesome!! Go social!!!

  • next time i go to california im gonna put this cd in my player and just cruise around!

  • @b2l4evr Do that with any Social Distortion album and it really gets you in a groove. Especially if you're along the coast.

  • @plagueround yeah i havent really been in california in awhile and this song and highway 101 are awesome songs about california

  • OMG.. It's a long way to the top if you wanna rock n roll.

How's possible nowadays copy a so famous song this way?

  • i think it doesn't sound like a rolling stones song at all!! to me it's a great mix of blues, country and rock!

  • @parkourdude923 don't be one of those "I'm too old school for the new stuff" tools.

  • "made a life out of rock-n-roll". r.i.p. Dennis.

  • he's like "I made a life out of rock-n-roll".....no doubt, it beats working for a living. R.I.P. Dennis.

  • Saw them today live ! were fucking awesome ! LOVE SD ! <3

  • I know its terrible to say but when I was living in Italy and whenever this song came on the radio it reminded me of "The Clap" in the film Get to the Greek...I still think it sounds like Russel brandt is the lead singer of this band.. no offence to those who like it :D

  • The idea you compare a basic rock 'n roll song to a billion bands that have played this style and yet you ascribe the style to one band is dumb as heck. If you listen to enough rock 'n roll you wouldn't say things like, "rolling stones anyone?" You would say, "ROCK 'N ROLL ANYONE?" Or at least say "EVERY BLACK BLUES MUSICIAN THOSE BANDS COPIED?" :) Music doesn't have to be put on a list. It's art. It's not a competition.

  • they rocked at -Rock am Ring- awesome

  • It sounds like oasis rock'n'roll stars !

  • Life gets hard, and then it gets good. Yeah, like I always knew it would...

  • Reminds me of a Rolling Stones type of song... regardless, i like it!

  • sounds like ac/dc and oasis!!!!

  • Anyone else hear the Stones' Tumbling Dice listening to this song??

  • @Tatts50 I hear Keep Your Hands To Yourself

  • @Tatts50 ya its got the feel

  • black man taught me how to sing the blues!

  • @ZawRHxpeless And Elvis Presley perfected it. A spectacular white man.

  • take me down Social D!

  • It's a long way to the top if you wanna rock n roll.

    Just better. :)

  • ok im laughing because 0:00-0:24 somewhat decribes my brother O.O

  • The whole album is great in it's own way, however I was kind of hoping for a little more thunderous guitar punch on this release. Oh well thank good Pyschopunch delivered with 'The last Goodbye"

  • must say love this band

  • 2:12 and on from there. That is just plain awesome.

  • Its like Old Four Horsemen Circa 1990

  • Its like Old Four Horsemen Circa 1990

  • Can't wait to see them live again....just a few weeks to wait!

  • this song reminds me of The Four Horseman.

  • the album is amazing

    Social D 4 Life

  • Loveitt:)

  • Sofort nach F1 berichterstattung von Sky hierher xD

  • oasis

  • rolling distortion :)

  • I like it.

  • this is a 180 from when they started in the early 80S as a punk group! this is more like rock, dare i say some of this album sounds a little country,.,.,.,., still good though iv always enjoyed Social D

  • I read all this criticism about this being a rip off of the Stones. I agree and I love it! Ness needed to change it up a bit. No doubt you can hear the Stones (including "all down the line" in the lyrics) but it sounds great. Rockin' tune and album...Diamond in the Rough is a great tune too.

  • @jsd10110 I've read somewhere that Ness wanted to see how a stones tune would sound if it was done by SD. I think they prettty much nailed it, and the "all down the line" part is just too cool, over the top, but still...

  • @parkourdude923 thats an idiotic statement. i think this is one of the finest social d albums ive ever heard. u cant expect mike ness to keep repeating the same album, hes been in the music bizz for more than 30 years, ofcourse hell try to experiment with different sounds

  • @parkourdude923 I really disagree... they're still the same band, but if you love Social D you would know that they change sounds on every album.

  • Saw Social D at the Warfield and they Fuckn Awsome!!!! Love Diamond In the Rough and Machine Gun Blues. He was simply "A Punk Rock Angel! Fan 4 Life! Never stop Mike Ness. Peace, Love and Rock On :)

  • Rolling Stone fucking suck donkey and the only reason they are relevant is their historious popularity. This song has some new talent and some new breath. When will people realize the stones have been overrated for years. They suck even harder live.

  • @Tomcooilinc dont get me wrong i love social d and punk music in general but u cant say the greats befor the 80's killed music,.,.,. exp. punk the 90's fucked that one up!

  • Yeah i mean its not like the rolling stones ripped off a load of black blues artists like leadbelly and muddy waters is it? >..<

  • @TheStayFrees they ripped them off pretty good, though. and this is just ridiculously lame.

  • This song kicks ASS!!! Love it!! Bitchen Ass conccert in HOLLYWOOD on the 29th!!!

  • @Designerstylejengie I was there that night as well. GREAT show. (as always. & REAL NICE to have them back @ the Palladium)

  • Living in a Hollywood movie dream

And I’m still reaching for the stars

Life gets hard and then it gets good

Like I always knew it would

  • No Vid... But sounds great... 22 years in the making of my love

    Mr. Ness..

    Take me down...

  • Mike can't lie his friendship to Mr. Bruce...

  • sounds perfect, as usual. SD!

  • awesomw song

  • Needs Cowbell!!

  • Every track on the album is great... apart from this one! Quiregirls boggie :S WTF???

  • @johanbergenson68 This isn't the only track with "choir" girls (seriously, quire? lol) and this track is GREAT, just like the rest of them. Though I admit the jam session that is Road Zombie is my personal fave.

  • bought the album and got the switch blade comb WOOT! haha

  • @missedyourmurder Switch Blade comb?

  • @amclaren2112 yeah they have a social distortion switchblade comb that comes with the new album... IF you buy it at hot topic...

  • @missedyourmurder WTF why didn't I know this sooner?! that is so sweet! oh well...my hair is too short to comb anyway. haha

  • @cubpack13 haha yeah mine is too =( but i got that bitch hanging on my wall.. lol

  • saw them last Wednesday in Anaheim, great show! Ness as relevant as ever....

  • @doofusmoo i was there also... up in the very right front... god that was a sweet show

  • cool as fuck.

  • sweet song its free on itunes this week

  • Fuck the Rolling Stones, fuck the Balck Crowes (with all due respect to the great band), this is a Social Distortion song... and it fucking rocks.

  • @sonicadv27

it's a weak attempt to copy the black crowes' weak attempt to copy the stones... and it fucking sucks.

  • @fwball i prefer this to most of the Stones catalogue...

  • @sonicadv27 that's your personal taste, alright... some bands manage to please a lot of people with a shitty song if they got a certain image, and if the singer's got a characteristic voice - that's the way it goes, i can see that. still, this song's nothing more than an uninspired "brown sugar" rip-off that most anyone who can hold a guitar could write in 5 minutes. and if you can't see that - no matter if you like this song and SD or not - you're a fool.

  • @fwball ok so now i'm obligated to like the Stones and not this song... I personally find most of the 60's bands overrated as hell, and the Stones are definitly one of those. They're good, no doubt about it, but i can't see how can this song be that bad when compared to the Stonesm that's being pseudo-intelectual, in my opinion...

And no music can be defined or rated by how easy it is to compose it or not... In many cases simplicity is your friend.

  • @sonicadv27 i told you, you got your own taste, but it's not a matter of what you *like*, it's just the way it is. it's a weak rip-off. if you still like it better than the original that's fine.

  • Fuck the Rolling Stones, fuck the Balck Crowes (with all due respect to the great band), this is a Social Distortion song... and it fucking rocks.

  • Sounds like the old Black Crowes a bit...

Still good, but i have to get used to this album. I miss the power a bit.

  • Kid Rock anyone ?

  • @SirDarrenBent where do u get kid rock from social distortion? kid rock doesnt have shit on social distortion! kid rock went from some wanna be bad ass rap / rock shit to country crap!

  • rock'n fkin roll allover..................JIHH

  • I like the female gospel singers in the background and how it speeds up at the end...the gospel girls are even better on "Can´t Take It With You" from the same album. The new album is awesome!

  • sounds like rolling stones, but its still social distortion

  • richtig geiiill

  • people are gonna say some of these new songs lack meaning...but truth be told `these are fun to listen to and do capture a fun care-free sentiment at times

  • Rolling Stones anyone?

  • @hooligan560 Social Distortion anyone?

  • @RoughRiderSD

    Terrible song anyone?
