I've watched about ten other Exile Vilify videos today, and while most of them just sent chills down my spine, this one made me cry. Absolutely beautiful.
For some reason, I found the part from 0:18 to 0:35 to be really powerful.
You see Caroline working really hard and long hours doing menial tasks for Aperture Science. And then when you see her at 0:30 you just feel like ...damn...she is just a regular lady you know? And a Mom.... working hard for her kid (Chell?). It made me appreciate my Mom and how hard she worked for us.
And in a way it connects her to Chell because both characters are kind of like cogs in a wheel in their own way.
@megacaviagek They're based on concept art by Valve... if you play that level and look at the posters there are implications the human staff are being replaced by robots. I think Cave says something to that effect too.
@lilianaclaire actually if Cave made robotmen then he wouldn't require his staff to test so i think he encourage the development of them but it never took off, so if you replaced it with weary looking employees i think it would be alot better, other then that i LOVED this great job on the pictures and scene selections! you should've got a token of winning too!
Amazing way of telling about Aperture and Caroline.
Really, it's so simple yet such a great idea. Where others choose tell about Chell, Rattman, GlaDOS or one of the spheres/turrrets you chose to tell the biggest, yet most mysterious story. Well done.
This was...just absolutely fantastic. The mantis men were funny, sitting with the bouquet next to Cave's picture was a wonderful kind of sad, and the shift into GlaDos' perspective was just...It was shiny. That's the best word I've got. Thankyouthankyou, beautifully done.
