Those subsidies cause massive poverty and economic destruction. Those who disagree: go pay with all your own money to clean up Fukushima and Chernobyl. The problem with cap and trade is that it is written by polluters, by the coal industry.
To solve the problem, we need to outlaw burning coal and send coal industry executives and lobbyists to prison for life. We need to outlaw the production of gasoline-powered cars (which we should have and could have done 20+ years ago) and send violators to prison for 5 years.
And we need to outlaw meat - no growing crops that get wasted feeding animals.
The global climate has remained constant for 15yrs, where's the crisis? There is none. This is the biggest tax fraud and attempt to re-distribute wealth globally in the history of the world. The science behind man made climate change is dubious to say the least. The EPA estimates that if the US cuts emmissions by 60% by 2050, by 2095 it will have reduced carbon by 25ppm resulting in a .2 to .3 degree change in temperature. In other words, this is a joke.
Renewable energy is a misnomer by the second law of thermodynamics.
I have no problem with windmills and solar panels so long as I am not required to use them and they are not too expensive. Hybrids are out -- they just cost more so you don't see the economic benefit until much later, when you're ready for your next car.
Human caused Global Climate Change is a real issue. If we don't do SOMETHING about it then we're going to leave future generations in a major shithole that we dig out and filled by not capping carbon emissions. I'm not for cap and trade but I am for doing anything to reduce our impact on the environment.
One other point. I agree with your cut on oil companies to a point. However, realize they are getting into renewables big time so their incentive to block "advancement" like you indicate is rapidly declining.
I think fusion power could be the silver bullet that allows us to avoid wind while at the same time, getting us off fossil fuels. The technology is being suppressed because it wouldn't be as profitable to industries that will gain from cap and trade, such as banks.

NO...NO MORE...the time for obeying corrupt politicians is rapidly coming to an end...time to put those traitors in jail...China and India have openly LAUGHED at cap and trade and will NOT comply....hmmm...they are the two most overpopulated nations on the planet...NOT the U.S. enough is enough..IMPEACH BARRACK OBAMA NOW.
