Haha, alright. Though I didn't call him cancer, just called him unpopular using cancer as an analogy. It's rather rich you calling me ill-informed when you've nothing to base that on. I guess you are 'spinning' my words, which is typical of the Liberal Party (and it seems it's supporters) as all they have is spin and no legitimate reason to ever come in power again.

Ilk? Though I have a limited knowledge (according to you, though not entirely accurate) of politics, I understand the difference between state and federal politics. I understand Turnbulls popularity is similar to that of cancer, and I understand that this spin is his attempt of gaining some legitimacy as he failing at critisising the current federal government. I guess that is why he is going for the state government.

He lives and votes in NSW, but he is lumping in NSW and federal Labor together. They are different. I guess you could call this political game play, or 'the politics of spin'. Pot calling the kettle black perhaps?

Is this a concession that Malcolm Turnbull knows he is not good enough to beat Rudd, so he will try and pretend it's a competition between him and a state Premier?

The argument that NSW Labor runs the Federal ALP is hard to sustain. Kevin Rudd is from Queensland. Wayne Swan is from Queensland. Julia Gillard is from Melbourne. Lindsay Tanner is from Melbourne. You could ask them (if you were brave), but I don't think that any of those people think Mark Arbib is their boss!

Labor is only hopeless in NSW because the opposition is five times as hopeless and thus there is no competition.

That sort of glib remark is easy to make but you can't really say that the opposition is any worse than the government. The opposition at least is cohesive and has some sort of policy direction. And they don't have the luxury of a gigantic public service at their fingertips to help them, unlike the Labor party. You say the opposition is even more hopeless, I say nothing could be worse than the current mob. Joh Bjelke Petersen wouldn't be worse than NSW Labor.
