  • what I understood is that a stakeholder is someone that helps the teacher with the students work and could gain something or not..

  • the stakeholder is someone who claims or looses something, a stakeholder can be anyone, a teacher, a parent, etc.

  • I understand that stakeholders is the people that want to be helping us in our project.

  • is anyome who works for the process of students learning.

  • I agree. When I worked in this highschool I met a lot of my student´s parents and they were really interested in what was going on with them. Also, the school ran a special program for them called "escuela para padres" and gave me the opportunity to be part of it. It was great!

  • so a stakeholder is someone who risks to gain or loose depending of the results of our project, or future projects.

  • We should take into consideration the stakeholders, because we do not knowif they are going to affect the project or be in contact with it.

  • We should take into considerations the stakeholders, because we do not know if they will one day affect our project.

  • the stakeholder is anyone that has a benefit or loses somthing with the solution or product, i found this useful because sometimes we just think in the teacher and the student but we dont go further into considerating the benefit that anyone else would get out of our product.

  • @1989rickman

    Well stated, Rick.

  • Not only when doing this project, but also when starting to be teachers, we have to take into account all the stakeholders that can be involed in our work; it will never be between us and the Ss only.

  • @jennywafom

    Christel,

Once again you are exactly right.

What I understood in the video is that a stakeholder is some one involve and concern in our analysis or you can also say its like a supervisor for the construction of the final project.

mm let me know if I'm wrong?

  • @leaero63

Yes, Olivia, it is really anyone who has something to gain or lose as a result of what you are doing.

    Dr. Rowe

  • ok skateholder are someone how is all the people that is involve in education.

  • This means viewing the process of learning as if we were principals, students and teachers, to have a wider idea by empathizing?

  • @madtigerlily

Actually, Bernardeth, what I wanted to communicate is the importance of taking stakeholders into account when doing needs analysis. A stakeholder is anyone who has something to gain or lose from you work. These people may be part of the host organization, such as principals and teachers. Or they may be independent of the organization such as parents. I hope that helps.

    Dr. Rowe

  • So a stakeholder is someone who is interest in our case education, a person that can give us comments, feedback to our project to make it better.

  • @yola3087

A stakeholder is someone who has a personal or professional interest in the outcome of the project. Their feedback can be very important.

    Dr. Rowe

  • Teacher, before this course I didn´t have any idea of what needs analysis meant or for what purpose

  • When I think of stakeholder, I think of someone who is involved, in this case in education, weather it may be teachers, students, principals, parents and educational authorities.

Ultimately the school staff is viewed as one of the most significant stakeholders.

  • @weritaw Corret, María Luisa!

  • Stakeholder is not that difficult to understand; in a sense a stakeholder is someone who has something similar to an investment on something. In terms of our projects, I would suppose that we have to deal with investors in the sense that if we convince them to lend permission upon our project, they are investing time from their schools and students. R. Vasquez, MEEOCA

  • @rubenvasg Well said, Ruben.

  • So a stakeholder is someone who has an interest in something. right? You also said that a stakeholder has something at risk. So in the video you mention that a stakeholder can be someone who is not part of the organization eg. parents but what do they exactly risk if they are not part of the organization (directly)?

I think I need a deeper example, please.:(

    Thanks

  • Here's an example. Imagine that there are some parents in the school who are really concerned about the education of their children. If they hear about your project and believe it is in the best interests of their children they will be your allies. If these parents happen to be wealthy or influential or very involved in the activities of the school, etc. their support could be very useful for your project. Or they could be enemies if they feel your project interferes with their child's education

  • @aallenrowe

    Thank teacher. I got it.

  • i get it so stakeholder is someone who is not only interested in a project but also someone who can loose something or be at risk of wininig or loosing something.

  • Exactly! That's why it's important to identify stakeholders and be aware of their interests as you work on a project. Sometimes as you go along you will discover stakeholders you did not know about. When this happens it may require taking their interests into account and even changing plans.

  • ahhh!! teacher now a remember that word... whe you explain us to yaham and me in the classroom.. jajaja thank you!!!

  • Yes. That was the word. It's a very useful word in many contexts.

  • Hmm, so everyone is a stakeholder since everyone wants to claim a part of the "steak'.

  • Nice pun! But not everyone is a stakeholder. For example there are some people in the organization who have no stake at all in the project even though it may interest them. A stakeholder is someone who has more than just an interest in the project. A stakeholder has something at risk or "something at stake," something to be gained or lost. For example parents are stakeholders because some aspect of their child's education is "at stake."
